Pest Control and Figures

So, to cut a long story short. Thanks to my father's inability to say no to our dog and keep him outside while he had fleas (first time in his 14 year life!) the house is now, more or less infested (in my opinion, my parents think is not 'as bad').

Anyway, to combat this, we are employing the only solution, an exterminatus. Yet, in the back of my mind, i could not help but think that all the insecticide / whatever in the air might hurt some of my figures, granted it is not a major concern as i don't imagine it would be major. But, i thought i would just ask to see if anyone else has had experience with this type of situation and whether or not it had any effect on their collection.

On the bright side, my room seems to have been spared for now, i am not going to take any chances though. I was planning to cover what i can of my collection with a sheet or something, just to be safe.

Sorry but what is a once over? something like redesign?

Kind of, just i know there are areas i have not vacuumed in ages, simply cause' it would require me
moving furniture, so i don't bother. Now that my room is almost empty, save for the bulky stuff, i can
move it all around easier, and clean all the nooks and crannies.

KyonoveFunny you should mention that. I did tape all the gaps shut. My mother looked at me like i was insane, then started to put some of her stuff away. lol.

My room is so empty now. Feels pretty weird, but on the upside, it gives me a chance to give my room a total once over, which i have not done in like 2 years now. Sure i clean it every week, but i am too lazy to move big/numerous stuff, i don't want to know how much dust is under my TV unit.

YEAH! SEAL IT LIKE YOU WOULD SEAL A DEAD BODY IN A CLOSET OR ROOM.

She might be thinking you're insane but it was a smart kind of insane... almost like you're a genius.

Anyways, Good Luck! The Flea Circus is coming to town!
Those tents always remind me of the Circus tents. ಠ_ಠ

FrozenSerpentAt least you're doing the chemical route and not the heat treatment for exterminating the fleas.
Good idea with the plastic container. Fast and Simple.
I'd even go a little further and seal up the gaps with tape to make it air tight but that might be a little too much.

Hahaha Wildstar, what doesn't get stunk up by cigarette smoke?

As I have recently found out, PVC soaks up cigarette smell, so it may very well do the same for insecticide/fumigation/wtv. Definitely pack them up.

Thanks to everyone's comments, i had an idea.

You see, i keep my empty boxes in plastic storage containers, just for organisation really.

So i am going to take them out and put my nendoroids / PVC stuff in them. Not sure about my Roboto Damashii, if there is room.

Helps that a good half or so of my Nendoroids are already in boxes as i am planning on selling them.

    Thanks all!

oh my god that sounds so scary! I would box up all my figures or put them in sealed bags. Bugspray chemicals are really nasty.

I would be so paranoid! I wouldn't want any kind of chemical or liquid touching my figures! I would put them back in their boxes or try and put them all, carefully, in a plastic bin or something.
