iAmiAmi shippingn/a

So I have been looking into sites and I have preordered on AmiAmi for the first time. I then looked around at what people say and it sounds like their shipping is really expensive. I was just wondering how much shipping really is on there? The first preorder I have coming up is item #77886 and I'm terrified his shipping is going to cost me like $80, I am hoping I am wrong.
I was wondering what you're experiences on AmiAmi with shipping has been.
Thanks ;)

branchanActually all the stores get the 20% discount on shipping from Japan Post. Only HLJ passes along the discount to the customers.

Even if that's true, consider that they're not charging you for all the packaging material they're using. Maybe they use the money they save to buy shipping boxes and stuff. Who knows.

Just because they're not passing any discounts they may receive onto customers though doesn't mean that they're overcharging you for shipping so I still don't think it's fair to say that their shipping is "expensive."

AmiAmi's shipping is about the same anywhere I shop, so it really depends on what you're ordering. I had a friend told me that he bought a huge figure. They charged him EMS on the spot. I normally buy items like nendoroids and figmas so those could be shipped via SAL. One time they shipped a huge box for a decal sticker sheet.. so it just depends on what you're buying.

wingman13Others have already mentioned it but AmiAmi's shipping is pretty much the same as other stores. I don't like HLJ's packaging methods so I definitely prefer AmiAmi over them. Some people are under the impression that AmiAmi's shipping is higher but I think that's because HLJ offers 20% off for EMS. This isn't something all stores can match so it would be unfair to say AmiAmi's shipping is higher just because they are charging regular rates.

That figure definitely won't cost you $80 to ship so you don't need to worry. It'll most likely be shippable by SAL Small Packet, and the max charge for SAL Small Packet (Unregistered) is 2080 yen, assuming you live in North America, Europe, or Oceania.

Here's the thing. Amiami's shipping IS more expensive than most of the other stores. But the difference is usually pretty small - just enough to offset Amiami's discounts. When you take shipping into account, HLJ, Amiami, and Hobby Search's total prices for the same item(s) will normally be within a few bucks of each other.

AmiAmi's shipping is the same as in most of stores.
I have orderded that figure too and I'm expecting the shipping to be like 15-20e (20-30$) with SAL... EMS would be something 25-30e (30-40$). That is the price what it has always been with my figure's orders.

Amiami shipping really is not that much more than other stores, you may end up paying maybe at most a couple hundred yen more but in return you get a sturdy box with great packing. I would never ship anything other than a prize figure from somewhere like HLJ cause their packaging is abysmal, I am surprised nothing has arrived broken yet.

For a full size figure like the one you have ordered $30 is likely around the max you will pay for shipping and that would be EMS. He doesn't look like he will be that heavy though so it may even be cheaper.

the diferrence between amiami and the other shops isnt that high in most of the cases. everytime i ordered something there, the shipping was the same as HLJ(except for EMS) or hobby search.

I just got the invoice for the Menma Nendoroid I pre-ordered from them, and the EMS shipping was only 1,860 yen, which was a lot less than I thought it would be. I know Nendoroids don't weigh a bunch, but that's pretty reasonable in my opinion. About the same as the shipping for my Erio Nendoroid from Big in Japan.

Shipping all depends on which type of shipping you choose, also the weight of the figure. It's not going to cost $80 but if you choose EMS it's going to be pricey, but will arrive to your door within a week, plus it is insured and trackable. You get your money's worth for the shipping service and a peace of mind that it isn't going to get lost.
