iKimono Shopping?n/a

One of the coolest things about anime cons is that you can dress however you like(as long as it's somewhat decent ;D). Cosplayers make the coolest outfits and really bring excitement to conventions. But what about people who don't like to cosplay? I've tried it a few times, and just can't get into it. I love what cosplayers do, but it's just not for me--and I'm fine with that. The problem is that now I have nothing fun to wear at conventions. It's like being at the beach without a bathingsuit! To solve this problem, I would like to look into buying a kimono/yukata to wear to cons. I've thought about buying one for some time, and would really like to pursue that now. It would be a great way to forsake my heritage experience another culture and buy that parasol I've secretly been wanting. Anyway~ I was wondering if anyone has any experience with buying kimonos(or yukatas) online for a decent price--I know it would be best to get one in person, but I highly doubt there's anywhere in my area I can do so. I've checked out a few sites, and it's a tad confusing. Site reccomendations would be great too. ^^
And is there anyone else out there who doesn't cosplay, but still likes going to cons? If so, what do you wear?

I fell asleep hours ago, speaking of which I've attended Cosfest X.2 in Singapore, Downtown East.
There's indeed a whole bunch of cute, beautiful and funny people there.
Even just dressing in kimono and yukata is indeed a good chance of wearing something you don't normally wear like what darkangel mentioned.

I told my future waifu that I wanna buy a kimono for her, she told me not to waste my money LOL.
I told her that I'll try to buy one for her next time anyway.
And that she'll get to choose the colors and select the customizations.

I'm a cosplayer so it's been awhile since I've wondered what to wear to a con outside of picking a costume but I think a yukata or kimono would be a great idea. I admit I secretly want one myself but I might wait until my trip to Japan and pick one up there. The idea never even occurred to me to buy one online actually now that I think about it...

As for other things to wear, before I cosplayed I used to enjoy wearing one of my geeky T-Shirts that only other anime/anime-related fans would understand. Like ones that make a joke about a common internet meme or the like. Its fun to have someone actually get it! A friend of mine loves to wear one of her steampunk/victorian-esque dresses. It doesn't have anything to do with any specific anime, its just a chance to wear something you don't normally wear around town.

AnnieAzurai've been wanting a kimono/yukata too. wow this site is confusing to navigate with the weird engrish. I'd want to know more about how this site works.
I mean i casually cosplay too. but i'm collection some nice semi generic cosplay-like outfits. a yukata is a must. so far i have elegant goth loli and akihabara maid. yukata and sweet loli outfits are my next endeavors between my figure collecting.

I wanted to buy a male's yukata a long time before at a local department store however everyone grabbed the S/M sizes so I'm left with oversized yukatas twice the size of my pants lol.

Knocking off from work soon, stay pretty ladies.
