Devil Homura problems

After a long wait, my Devil Homura finally arrived.
I was so excited to open her and put her out but that all faded fairly fast when I noticed that her face (default face that she had on when new in box) had paint transfers on it from her hair (or so I think).
She does have a second face which I was planning on putting on anyway but still this is quite a disappointing feat for a new figure to have.

Also why are her eyebrows blue-greyish?

However this was by far the only problem with this figure.

Next was the dress which had disgusting looking seem lines on it which looked like something was just molten there.

Also a tiny yellow dot is visible a bit lower than that.

Then the paintjob on the stockings is just terrible.

And talking about paint jobs, I found a fingerprint or what looks like a fingerprint on her chest. Most likely from the one that did the paint job.

For such a beautiful figure to have so many flaws, is just sad.
Especially for the price I paid :'(
I hope I get a replacement or something that does look good. Because it's easy for them to sent a replacement, but for one with less problems (no problems preferably).
Getting a replacement with similar problems makes no difference.
So sad the quality control of so many figures is going downhill. While the quality from prize figures is getting lots and lots better the quality for the normal pre-painted figures from great, well known companies is going downhill.
This while the prices just keep on rising.

AlfieSama (1 year ago) #3472264Sorry to hear. In my case, the ribbon fell off. Yes, the ribbon ;;;;;;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cringe :'(. If only she was from Good Smile Company..

if it would've been a small piece like her ribbon it would be fairly easy to repair (I think). It's a good thing she does look good if you look at the full figure, but I think most collectors also pay some attention to details and that's where everything is wrong :(

VioMariner (2 years ago) #3050431Thanks for sharing this. I had been tempted to purchase her since she's binned a bit in the aftermarket but I'm glad I didn't after seeing these photos. For a figure so pricey, marketed, and hyped it's a shame there are so many little imperfections.

With a little bit of luck you can get a good one but so far lots and lots of people (besides 1) have told me they had similar problems as well. Bad paintjob, scratches and so on.
Really sad for such a good looking figure to have as much problems as she has.
If only they'd put as much effort into these ones as they do for the prototype ....

Neko_Orihime (2 years ago) #3049756View spoilerHide spoilerFor the price tag they put on this Homura, the figure is pretty terrible.
I also had issues with mine (difficult to put on the base, I struggled for nearly 1 hour or more to get her on good, and her pegs still stick out a little, though they aren't visible unless you look from a certain angle. Also her wings connect and fit terribly)
I haven't spotted any issues as bad as yours tho, I feel really bad for you.
I mean I guess I like her because she's Madoka Magica and because she's Devil Homura but I never expected to feel the sense of dissapointment I did when I was done assembling her...
I personally nearly paid 200-, euro's including shipping for her, if you make an exclusive figure with that price tag you're supposed to deliver and they just did a shoddy job. (And I think it's because it's Madoka Magica and they think it will sell anyway due to popularity and maybe people wanting to pair her with Godoka?)
It breaks my heart a little because I was really excited for this figure from the beginning but I catch myself thinking "should've put that money into buying a PS4 #%$$%$%%^!"
Had she been a "regular" priced figure (I mean the going rate for a scale with some detail, altho the industry has been jacking up their prices I think her flaws would've also been annoying but I wouldn't feel as screwed as I do now.
1 positive thing this figure gave me was an eye opener that NEVER am I spending that kind of money on figures again. No matter how beautiful the prototype, or how much I love the show. It's just not worth it anymore for me after this.
(This also caused me to take a look at my collection and re-evaluate the way I want to collect, and put up some things for sale. And getting a new goal in collecting did actually cheer me up, so I guess that's another + for Homura, it's just so dissapointing all the plusses have not so much to do with the figure itself)
So yeah, not cool Stronger/Aniplex and I hope you get a replacement or maybe even a partial refund, this is so bad.

I've already been feeling like somewhat giving up on new figures because the prices are getting just to high and because of how disspointed I've been lately with most figures I've gotten.
Homura is the top of it all tho .... I haven't had a figure as bad as her.
I was so excited when she finally came out since she had been delayed several times with my retailer (the only place that actually shipped to my place). If you think about it in another way it's like a decent bootleg ... bootlegs are mainly bad but if they'd improve a bit they have the homura that I have (figure of speaking of course)
She costed me 204,99euro incl shipping, so yeah ... way to much. Than again most figs taht are sold around 100euro's also cost me about 200euro when they actually arrive so that's another reason why I have been having lots and lots of doubts about the entire collecting thing. Tho I like it and love the figs, it's just to expensive. I've already narrowed it down over time but with the increase of prices, narrowing it down will have to go to maybe 1-2 figs a year, that's how bad it is for me. Some people don't realize that some peeps pay massive amounts of custom fees and such on top of everything they already paid.
I've been having a lot of trouble with selling as well because I paid way to much and I want at least something back but even if I put them for sale at half the price I paid for them it's still more than what they're sold at new or pre-owned in stores :(
Think I'll eventually just try to sell them really cheap to get rid of them but atm I'm trying to wait it out a bit cuz I really don't want to have such a great loss :(

It was really difficult to put her together that's very very true. Was scared of breaking her because of how hard I had to push to get her on the base ... wings were even more difficult and they indeed don't really fit to well together (don't look all to get anyway).
Prototypes promises you so much but what we got in return wasn't really all to great. The thing is that they put way more effort in the prototypes unlike the actual figure that goes for sale :/

Kirenisa (2 years ago) #3049622Owch that sucks you must have just gotten one of the bad ones in the lot. :< mine hasnt had any of these issues.

Think it's just vice versa here ... you probably just have that one that was good XD
Joking aside, a lot of peeps have been telling me and elsewhere that they have similar problems with the figure. As I mentioned quite a few times, the quality control is lacking which makes it possible for more and more figures with flaws to go out to collectors :(

mukyuu (2 years ago) #3049256I actually checked this picture on my phone to make sure I was seeing it right. o_o
I have seen Griffon figures fu***ng up the eyebrows color (like some Gungnir Remilia they did) but dayum, Aniplex is even aware of these flaws?
I am starting to think this figure was Griffon'd. I really think you should contact both Stronger and Aniplex. I am curious by how this will turn out because I have seen plenty of people complaining and some even selling their own Akuma Homura. I was suspicious she would maybe lean, but never expected these problems, because it's an Aniplex figure we're talking about.

Didn't even know stronger had anything to do with this .... never really good at paying attention to 'details' so I never really know who created what and such XD

Not sure how I can contact stronger tho...
Again, sad to see such a magnificient piece be a waste of money :/
I thought it would lean as well but it's quite similar to Madoka which as far as I know hasn't started leaning yet XD

Kosura (2 years ago) #3049250I hope they at least say something about it.
And which Rin figure exactly cuz I probably haven't seen it yet...
I didn't notice that tbh ... so much problems with the rest but now that you pointed that out .... IT DOES BOTHER ME .... A LOT.
Why ... I mean her hair is like dark dark brown as good as black ... why .... O.O
I'm actually more confused than that I am mad about it tbh O.O
