Guess what? Rei's batch!

DaevaDaeva2 years agoLoot
Time ago I went on a shopping spree, and among the other things I decided that it was the time to enrich my collection of Rei Ayanami figures.
The packlet reached me a few days ago, and here I am to share some pictures.
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a543/daevakun3/daevakun3001/blog-01_zpsabonidg1.jpgThe items are one of the most recent models of Rei's dolls from Marmit, coming straight from the "Super Excellent Series", and a beautiful Rei figure from Enterbrain.

Let's start by unwrapping the doll!

I was surprised to know that this doll was pretty recent compared to her "sisters", as the "plastic hair" thing is usually a peculiarity of the older "action figure" style of dolls, but after a closer inspection you can see the improvements of this piece, expecially when it comes to the detail of the clothes (even if the finishing of the white jacket that she wears under the coat are OBSCENE)!
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a543/daevakun3/daevakun3001/blog03_zps8jtfojwb.jpgHere are a few shots, comparing the doll to her other Marmit "sisters" and the rest of my dolls collection (no Pullip in this picture 'cause she's a bother to pose!)

http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a543/daevakun3/daevakun3001/blog05_zpssjnmlizj.jpgNext, is the turn of this beautiful figure!
This was released by Enterbrain on 2007, and it's a beatiful prepainted version of an illustration that made me fell in love with Rei the first time I saw it because of her pensive, deep expression ^_^ !
I was a bit bothered to see that the plug-suit got yellowish during the years, but I assume that this expected of a figure dating almost ten years ago, even if still properly packed in its box.

In those shots I used the base of another figure (the variant of the "Flash a Smile" EX figure), I think it fit quite well!

http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a543/daevakun3/daevakun3001/blog09_zpsulq8tpha.jpg...And on this beautiful close-up I say hello to you guys, see ya for the next Rei's batch!

Worstluck (2 years ago) #4043597Though generally I prefer wigs to plastic hair parts when talking abut dolls, but in 1/6 scale or smaller usually plastic hair parts surpass wigs in representation the character's hair style...
Also I can't help but ask about the skin tone of the 2006 doll. Is it darker because of its age or got tanned by other factor like tobacco? Or different material and technique were used so it was different from PVC figures?
I agree with you about the plastic hair, not my favourite, but sometimes they are just the best for the character's depiction (God bless the RAH XD)-- As for the skintone of the doll, it's the opposite! The other one (year of release = 2003) was mistreated XD Her previous location involved direct sun light, so skin, hair and clothes, all got discoloured ;_;
