iCompleted Aile Strike 1/144 RGn/a

For more pictures please visit: 0thmirageknight.com

My first Real Grade; very excited for this new product line - which will probably be replacing all HGs and some MGs for me. This kit is entirely hand painted - I experimented with using clear acrylic colors and brushing directly onto lightly sanded bare plastic; I think it was a success.

Thank you for viewing!

Thanks, yes it really is too bad about the daggers, maybe I'll find it some day. The swords are Astray MG's.

Nice job! Makes me want to finish panel-lining and putting the decals on my Strike. And it's too bad about the Armor Schneiders. While looking at your pics, I was thinking to myself, "where's the plain Strike with just the daggers?" The strike can really strike some militaristic poses without the whole aile pack on (not to mention, won't have balance issues lol).
Also, where'd those swords in the first pic come from?

The last photo made me chuckle. =)

Ranger_Chris61Interestign technique, the results are very good

Yes, clear colored paints have less pigments and more water, so they flow and distribute better. I still sand off the nub marks, but I make sure to use 600+ and finish at at least 1000. This way the subsequent clear coat and flat coat can cover minute surface scratches and provide a slightly better surface for the paint to grip onto.

iTheShirtYou think that is something seen as amatuerish? I see it as artistic and very cool because it gives the shield more depth and personality. Great work! Your hard work is proven with this godly completion! >8D

Thanks ^^ I guess you can look at it that way! As long as no visible brush strokes are visible I'm happy :)

stargazer713It is hand painted! Haha, look closely at some parts, easiest to spot at the shield, you see those blotches? Spray painting would be totally even and unlike that. Would you like to know my secret? :) It's clear red, clear blue, and clear yellow over the plastic colors. I'd suck at hand painting as well had I used normal colors.

Ranger_Chris61You are either that epically good at hand painting or are lying. In either case VERY nice work.
