This blog contains material that may be offensive to those triggered by awesome stuff, boobies, comic strips made with action figures, excessive cursing done by Nendoroids and long articles with lots of pictures. Reader discretion is advised.

Author's Note:
I am having some trouble getting spoiler tags properly positioned with the layout of the text, so the NSFW pics are not hidden with spoiler tags. But there is a very clear warning about a NSFW picture before it appears. I will update them with spoiler tags once I can get them to work properly.

Hear ye! Hear ye! It is time once again for an obligatory loot post! This is my first loot of the new year and it looks like I am off to a fantastic start. I was planning on doing my January and February loots in separate posts, but since I was so late with January, I figured I should merge the two months into one post. I managed to finally get my hands on some grails that I thought I would never obtain thanks to some majorly unexpected restocks and discounts. This month also marks my 3rd year blogging on MFC and my 1st full year since I started taking my blogging seriously under the identity of ChocolateSpider. I have had lots of fun with this and hope I will continue to do so for many more years to come. So without any further delay, let's check out my first loot of 2017!

I Monster Girls vol. 3
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191533.jpeg

The 3rd installment of this multi-illustrator spinoff comic has finally arrived. Between the assorted art styles from the various illustrators and the non-stop shenanigans, I think I am enjoying this spinoff more than the main series.

Just like the last two volumes, this one came with three color postcards.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191832.jpeg

I especially like the one with Centorea and Rachnera.

On a side note, guess who recently followed me on Twitter. I'll give you a moment to guess.

...........
...........
...........

Monster Musume's official Twitter account followed mine a few days ago. I am assuming it is because I have mentioned the series at least once in each of my past few loot posts + Rachnera has such a prominent spot on my profile page here on MFC.

That feeling when the series your waifu comes from notices you! It's even better than when senpai notices you! (*´ヮ`*)

Oh wait....they follow everyone that follows them. That feeling when you thought senpai noticed you, but then you realize senpai didn't notice you at all. Hmm....Now I am not totally sure this is the official Twitter page. (oεo)

I think I've rambled enough. Let's move one to the rest of the loot.

Premium Parts Collection
Model Base Supplies

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1487167082.jpeg

I have been searching for some supplies such as risers to enhance the display of my collection. I was browsing around and I learned about these customizable acrylic risers by Hobby Base.
item #217627 item #285681 item #233140

I had to find something cheap to add to an order from TOM for the minimum $150 purchase requirement for free shipping. Since TOM also had these on sale at the time, I thought this would be a good opportunity try them.

I must say that these have proven far more useful than I anticipated. This line of products features acrylic bases of several shapes and sizes. Not only can you customize the height of the base by screwing together the aluminum pillars, but you can also combine multiple panels together to make a tier system.

Click here for my review of these handy dandy risers.

Kill la Kill Grails
Ryuko Figma & Mako Nendoroid

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192013.jpeg

Oh how fate smiled upon me with these purchases. Tokyo Otaku Mode restocked a few copies of the Mako Mankanshoku Nendoroid on New Year's day; they sold out in a couple of hours. The next day, I got a restock notification for the Ryuko Figma. A couple of days pass since placing the orders and they arrive at my doorstep as my first figures of 2017.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191838.jpeg

Now having these figures in my possession, I know those years of hunting them down were worth it. Both of these figures are highly dynamic and a lot of fun to pose. No doubt we will be seeing plenty of Mako getting into mischief in my blogs from now on.

But I shouldn't get too pleased yet. I must continue the hunt for Nendoroid Ryuko and Satsuki. I am so close to this goal, I can taste it! And it tastes like Cheetos!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191840.jpeg

The chibi fun does not stop with Mako.
Let's check out some more Nendoroids! (◕◕)

Nendoroids: Shiro & Genos
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192015.jpeg

Two more soldiers have joined my seemingly infinite army of chibis. Joining the horde today is Genos from "One-Punch Man" and Shiro from "No Game No Life."

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192017.jpeg

I am highly impressed with how Genos turned out. Excellent articulation, a great assortment of facial expressions, and nicely chosen accessories that complement the face plates it comes with. My favorite thing about this Nendoroid is the blast effects for combat poses.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192021.jpeg

I enjoyed "No Game No Life," so I could not resist this Nendoroid when I saw how adorable it turned out to be.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192019.jpeg
Shiro:
"Spidey-kun! Where is my onii-chan? I don't see him in this loot!

Me:
"I'm sorry, Shiro. But your brother seemed so expensive for having no interesting face plates and so few accessories. I'll pick him up if I find him on sale."

Shiro:
*sniffle* "But I feel so empty and alone with out my onii-chan!
Please, Spidey-kun! Pleeeeeease!"

Me:
"Ok! Ok! You win, Shiro. I'll go get your brother right now.
Just please stop crying." (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

Portrait of Pirates Gender-Swap Luffy

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191537.jpeg

I pre-ordered this from CrunchyRoll several months ago. It required a full deposit, but it was totally worth it. This is definitely one of the most unique items in my collection. Megahouse started this line of gender-swapped One Piece characters with Trafalgar and have now added Luffy as the second installment.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191539.jpeg
There has been some criticism about this figure for abvious reasons. We see this kind of stuff in fan-art, but the idea of having this highly sexualized gender swap Luffy has made some people feel very uncomfortable. I personally think She-Luffy is super super cute. The haters can just kiss her cute stretchy tomboy butt because she doesn't need your approval. >:3

An interesting thing I discovered by accident is that this figure has a partial cast-off feature. The top half of the body is detachable and fits on with this peg on the torso. The jeans and sash are two separate pieces which just fit in place on the hips.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191541.jpeg

So if you want, you can display She-Luffy pantsless.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489191834.jpeg
This figure fills me with feelings I don't understand.

Gaming Heads Jak & Daxter II Statue
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192734.jpeg

I was actually expecting to have gotten this several months ago. But like the Sly Cooper statue I got in September, stock at third party stores have been repeatedly delayed without any notice. The store I originally ordered mine from informed me they may still not receive their stock of this statue for another few months. Some other stores have had their stock for a few months before this point. Around Christmas time, Gaming Heads had a free shipping promotion for some of their products including Jak. Since my receiving of this statue had already been delayed for so many months, I decided to cancel my original order and bought it directly from Gaming Heads just to put this unnecessary waiting to an end.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192736.jpeg

It has taken nearly 8 months longer than it should have, but this statue has finally made it to my shelf. And wowee this thing looks awesome! I hope this is the last Gaming Heads statue I buy for a while. This type of experience keeps happening to me with their statues regardless of where I buy them.

Now it is time for the final item of January. Prepare yourself.
Things are about to get cray cray in a good way.

Bonus Comic #11
Mystery Box

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489283969.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489283967.jpeg

You probably recall the blog I posted a couple of months ago about purchasing this statue. Sadly, it arrived with the tip of the left sword broken into a few pieces.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489284940.jpeg

I contacted their customer support and they gave me two options. They could issue me a $75 refund, or send me a full replacement. But they requested that I completely smash the copy I received and send them proof of its destruction before sending the replacement.

Other than the tip of the sword being chipped, the statue was in perfect condition. I couldn't bring myself to intentionally demolish an otherwise pristine giant statue of Kratos, so I accepted the partial refund and attempted to repair it.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489282818.jpeg

I think I did an ok job fixing it. It was a clean break, but some of the chipped parts were very small. I had to use tweezers just to hold some of them, so I kinda messed up getting the parts aligned before the glue hardened. The damage is barely visible in person, so I give myself a 9/10 for this repair. Let's take some closer looks at this behemoth of a statue.

This whole statue is super heavy. It weighs roughly 37 lbs. To move it, I have to take Kratos off the base and lay him down on a pillow. The base has a nice stony texture with some faux plants sticking out in some areas. That is a nice touch, although the faux plants are brittle.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489282826.jpeg

Very nice paint work for his shoes. It all has a solid metal and leather look to it. Although some of the smaller details like lacing and painting of the toes loot kinda blotchy.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489282820.jpeg

While being made of polytone, the statue is also constructed with real bandages, metal, fabric and leather. His chains and bandages are highly detailed. Although the choice to have the chains held in place with staples is questionable. But they are barely visible, so I find that to be negligible for the most part.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489282822.jpeg

His loin cloth is nicely woven. I like that they made it look a little worn, but not too tattered. It is like Kratos chose his least torn loin cloth he had in his closet, which was still a bit worn from use.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489331553.jpeg

I have some mixed feelings about the paint for his face and body tattoo. The borders and coloring for them seem rather....how can I say this nicely? .....Basic is the word I think I am looking for. The body tattoo was just a simple stroke of 1 paint color with a lighter use around the edges. The scar on his face looks way too glossy and the paint bleeds a bit too much.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489282824.jpeg

Other than that, the rest of the face and his skin looks spot on. This statue's paint job has a weird mixture of highly detailed in some areas, but almost amateurish in others.

And as you can see in this picture, it is freaking huge! This thing stands roughly 26 inches tall. 95% of this height is Kratos himself, so I am happy they didn't downplay his size by making the base too big. This statue dwarfs statues by First 4 Figures. Modern Super Sonic stands roughly 15.5 inches tall to the tips of his quills and he was the tallest statue I had before Kratos arrived. (ʘᗩʘ')

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489283961.jpeg

If I paid full price for this statue, I would have felt a bit cheated to be honest. It is awesome for sure, but some instantly noticeable details bring some disappointment for the standard asking price. But for the $208.72 I paid, even with minor chipping considered, I feel like this was a pretty damn good bargain. I spent considerably less on this than most of my statues by First 4 Figures and Gaming Heads. To put the price into perspective, the amount I paid for Modern Super Sonic is one of the lowest prices I've paid for a polystone statue of its size. I purchased him in May at eKnight Media for $214.99 + free shipping. That price was only $10 below standard retail value of $224.99.

I almost feel like I stole this from the PlayStation Gear store with the price I paid. But then again, there have been soooo many statues of Kratos made by other companies, all of which cost much less than the standard price of this statue at their full retail price. So in hindsight, the fact this got discounted so much after being in stock there for so long is not surprising. It is actually still available there for 50% off right now. Looks like this statue just hasn't sold very well. But hey; it has all worked in my favor. All glory be to the god of discounts and economic stuff!

Ok. That wraps up January's loot. Now let's move on to February. February's loot only had a few figures, but they were all super awesome! The next part is not safe for work. I am still trying to get the spoiler tag to work correctly while being properly positioned. Getting the BB code for spoilers to work with all of the other BB codes in place is pretty tedious to figure out.

February 2017

Aoi Nagisa Set
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489202860.jpeg

Aoi Nagisa is one of my top favorite H-artists. I think Liliana, the girl on the left with straight hair, is one of the top 3 hottest hentai women ever created. That being said, I had to get these for my room décor. To not purchase these would feel like an act of betrayal to Liliana and her mesmerizing beauty. Annette, the one on the right with curvy hair, is super beautiful too. But Liliana will always be the main goddess in my eyes.

Even though Annette chronologically came before Liliana, she feels more like Liliana's sidekick to me. I know what some of you are thinking right now. "This guy knows waaaaaay too much about hentai."

The print quality for the pillow cover is crystal clear.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489193583.jpeg

It is also super smooth and soft. I know I will sleep soundly at night knowing Liliana's and Annette's bosoms will protect my head from nightmares.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489193585.jpeg

The tapestry's print quality is also crystal clear. To be honest, I find the image on this tapestry to be rather hypnotic.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489193587.jpeg

You can buy the pillow cover and tapestry separately, but they are also available as a bundle package with a small discount plus a cute bonus trinket; this little acrylic character stand of Liliana.
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489193581.jpeg

There can never be enough Liliana in this world. Aoi Nagisa, you are truly a gift to humanity. I want to find your home address so I can send you a lovely gift basket of assorted chocolates and maybe an Amazon gift card because you so totally deserve it.

Figures Zero: One Piece Sanji
Diable Jambe Premiere Hachis Hash

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1488069070.jpeg

It is not often I buy One Piece merchandise outside MegaHouse's Portrait of Pirates scale statues, but Bandai freaking nailed it with this mini statue of Sanji. This is easily one of my top 5 favorite One Piece figures in my collection. So much awesome in such a small figure.

Click here to read my review of this figurine.

Monster Musume Miia (Di Molto Bene)
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1487897390.jpeg

At last! My snake bae I ordered from MHToyShop is here! Gaze in awe at her beauty! All glory to the snake boobies! To see more of this figure, Click here for my review article posted two weeks ago. Now if I can get a good Rachnera figure, my waifu shelf will experience a power boost the likes of which spider-kind has never even imagined!

More Nendoroids!
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192738.jpeg

Three highly anticipated Nendoroids entered my collection in February: Re-released Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay Night, Rem from Re:Zero and Tokyo Otaku Mode continued my fortuitous Kill la Kill acquisitions with a surprise restock of Satsuki Kiryuin.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192740.jpeg

So close. I am so close to completing this set of after market rarities I have hunted for so long. All I need now is Ryuko's Nendoroid.

JUST! ONE! MORE! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤhttp://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/ChocolateSpider1489192742.jpeg

I have a feeling that 2017 is going to be my year. Not just for collecting nerdy stuff, but for my life as a whole. I can feel it in my pancreas! Tell me about your first treasures of 2017 in the comments below. I would really like to see how the start of 2017 has been for your collection. (◕◕)

(RIP about the broken tip but it give the figure a charming battle-worn look? And I think it's interesting that the company requires you to smash the figure to give you a replacement)

I was just thinking that, actually. That does help the damage blend in to the design. And it turns out that this is common practice for a lot of companies that make these highly limited statues. They do it to maintain the quality of all existing copies being sold on the Internet. I personally don't get it. Someone may still want to buy a partially damaged statue. Let the market decide. But whatever. I am happy. :3

I Love Monster Girls is great. It is an anthology of 4 panel comic strips, each one written and drawn by many different artists. It is basically a collection of comedy fan-fiction by other manga and hentai artists. And I'll be sure to let you know if Ryuko ever shows up somewhere again for a reasonable price. It happened once recently, it can happen again. Never give up! Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and giving such gracious comments. :D
