Akira (4 months ago) #21077577Nice review! Sucks she came out with a weird looking mouth, and the messy paintwork in some parts of it.
Personally I think the overall shading is great, but what really disappoints is how she looks with that price : / I have seen better figures coming from Pulchra after their epic disaster with Levi, so this is kinda shocking specially with how simple she is.
Oh well, she is not bad by any means, just too pricey for what it is.

The mouth is certainly the worst part of the figure. It's almost as if this was forgotten about until the final step of the design, and then they just threw something together. If this was a prize figure, it would be forgivable, but not for 12000 yen...

Maakie (4 months ago) #21065712Woah, I don't even know where to start on this one. Rather than calling her out for 'Griffon material' (lol), I would rather say that the paint and face reminds me of older Lechery figures. Especially that mouth, not even those nice thighs can help this. I'm sorry, but there are just too many things wrong with this figure and I get annoyed the longer I look at it. >.< Nice review, though! I hope you don't regret buying her too much. >.<

The funny thing is that I don't really dislike the figure; it's just that in the hands of a company like Alter or Max Factory this would have been a really great figure.

I don't regret buying this one, but if I had it to do over I probably would wait until the inevitable price drop to around 5000 yen happens.

Stalking (4 months ago) #21014152I love kneeling figures with a passion; it's too bad Pulchra underperformed so much. Hard to believe they wanted 12000 for this figure... I think around 8000 would be a fair official price for this quality.
If you look at it from a little distance she's not that bad, thankfully.

Yeah, the problem with this figure really comes down to the high price, especially considering that some of the other good Mikans are less expensive; heck, even ITEM #464638 is less than the Pulchra figure.

victorviper (4 months ago) #20988281That's a good way of summarizing the comparison to that Griffon figure :).
Although, that Sasara figure is more like *nine* years old (it got a re-release back in 2012).

I thought it was five but it's really nine?
    Now that's even sadder. XD

jesmagicchild (4 months ago) #20987500I've no doubt that's true.
Don't worry though, I by no means dislike Griffon,
I'm just being mean to them for the sake of a joke.
It still doesn't change the fact that this figure is being compare to a figure that was made five years ago, by a company infamous for it's hit and miss quality, and still struggles to be on par with it.
( again, just a mean joke on my part. ;) )

victorviper (4 months ago) #20978863In fairness, that Griffon Sasara is not a bad figure (it's one of Griffon's better offerings as far as I can tell), but that's kind of what I was going for :).

jesmagicchild (4 months ago) #20977332The Griffon figure might actually be a little better in terms of its overall quality...
    BUURRRNNNNN...
