Japan Loot - Part 2

aluchenaluchen1 month agoLoot
Hello everyone! http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/aww.gif

As promised, here's the second part of my Japan loot! If you're curious about the first part, you can read it here: blog/34871

So let's take a look at the other items I managed to find :)

~ Persona ~
Unlike during my last trip, I didn’t get a lot of Persona items this time. That’s partly because I more or less own most of the things I want by now, but also – which is way more surprising – there wasn’t much available. I was prepared not to find that much P5 stuff as the game is still fairly new, but I was surprised by the lack of P3 and P4 items. During my last trip two years ago the second hand stores were filled with goods, despite P4 and P3 being popular as ever, given the spin-off games had been released not to long ago and the 3rd movie was running at the cinema. I’m not sure if P3 and P4 are so "out" now that any stores focusing on pre-owned goods got rid of their selection completely, or if everybody’s even crazier about them because of the hype P5 created. Somehow I had the feeling it’s not the latter…

Anyway, here are the things I bought! Let’s start with the P5 stuff :D

ITEM #575851 | ITEM #575854 | ITEM #575852
http://up.picr.de/30632075gk.jpg

I managed to find some of the acrylic stands from the Persona 5 x Princess Cafe. I’m glad I found Yusuke because he’s my favorite character, but I’m a bit bummed that I didn’t see anyone besides Haru and Makoto. I hope I’ll complete the set one day!

Furthermore I also got the clear file of Yusuke from the same set and a few rubber straps.

ITEM #575882 | ITEM #483313 | ITEM #483311 | ITEM #616259 | ITEM #616258
http://up.picr.de/30632076bq.jpg

I was super excited about finding the set with Joker! I’m also happy that I found Yusuke, but once again I only managed to get Ann and nobody else from the team D: The keychain of Akechi and Detective Loveline Nanako was a lucky find at a Doujinshi store, though it feels kinda weird to see them together instead of Nanako & Naoto!

I also found this at the same store:

http://up.picr.de/30632077pf.jpg

What cute stand!

Furthermore I got a P5 artbook:

ITEM #609809
http://up.picr.de/30632078go.jpg

I wonder why the title is in German. It seems totally random ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The artbook comes with a plastic sleeve you can store it in, which is pretty neat:

http://up.picr.de/30632092yl.jpg

Okay, that was pretty much the entire artbook ^^”

Moreover I got this P5 character anthology:

ITEM #605334
http://up.picr.de/30632112yp.jpg

It comes with an alternate cover underneath the book jacket, which shows everbody wearing their normal clothes.

http://up.picr.de/30632113pl.jpg

The book contains a few short comics as well as different artworks. I bought it mainly for the artworks because I can’t read the stories. However these two made me laugh even without being able to read them:

http://up.picr.de/30632218xb.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632219zp.jpg

Everybody who played the game will get these XD

Here are some of the artworks in the book:

Let’s continue with the P4 items!

ITEM #139117 | ITEM #139127
http://up.picr.de/30632137zj.jpg

I managed to find these two plush really cheap. I didn’t expect to find them to be honest, but I was really happy about it because my friend TALITHACS had asked me to look out for the Teddie one since she had been searching for it for a long time. I’m glad I found him! I got Yosuke for myself, but unfortunately the store didn’t have Yu in stock to go with him. Hopefully I’ll find him someday to give Yosuke some company ;)

Also got a few keychains:

ITEM #328675 | ITEM #177949 | ITEM #259625
http://up.picr.de/30632138dc.jpg

Rise was the only one I was still missing from that set. I’m glad it’s finally complete now :D Also got the two Teddie ones because they were cute. Talking about Teddie…

ITEM #133984
http://up.picr.de/30632139ov.jpg

I made the mistake to check the weather back in Germany while I was in Japan and seeing how shitty it was, I thought getting this blanket wouldn’t hurt. The shape makes it a bit difficult to get wrapped up in it, but for using it while sitting at my computer it’s good.

Let’s move to the P3 stuff…

ITEM #213935 | ITEM #254638 | ITEM #254648 | ITEM #238400
http://up.picr.de/30632140lq.jpg

I’m sure I've owned Fuuka before, but when I wanted to frame my P3 straps I couldn’t find her anymore, so I bought her again xD I really have no idea where she went…

ITEM #476352 | ITEM #394540 | ITEM #196700
http://up.picr.de/30632141fo.jpg

Some P3 items which are all exclusives to the respective movies. The plush even talks! :D The box was also a bonus item that came with one of the DVDs/Blurays I believe. It contains a rubber strap of Junpei and Chidori and Chidori’s sketchbook:

http://up.picr.de/30632142cb.jpg

They even went so far to print the portrait that Chidori drew of Junpei into the book. What an nice detail!

http://up.picr.de/30632143vq.jpg

Moreover I got the P2 keychain set (minus the bonus one). I’m always happy about more P2 merch! :D

ITEM #80260 | ITEM #80258 | ITEM #80259 | ITEM #80262 | ITEM #80263 | ITEM #80264 | ITEM #80261
http://up.picr.de/30632144hx.jpg

For some reason I didn’t buy them during my last trip and it was funny to see that they were still at the same shop two years later xD Guess nobody really wants them anymore…

Furthermore I got a few figures of Personas / demons from SMT:

http://up.picr.de/30632265qh.jpg

I'm especially happy about finally getting this one! Now the Jack family is complete :D

http://up.picr.de/30632266qa.jpg

Also got Nue, Beelzebub and Poltergeist:

http://up.picr.de/30632267ff.jpg

Poltergeist even glows in the dark :D

http://up.picr.de/30632268ex.jpg

Also found a strap of Poltergeist:

http://up.picr.de/30632269fv.jpg

Now Raidou finally has some more demons to summon :D

http://up.picr.de/30632270ho.jpg

~ Ace Attorney ~
I coincidentally spotted this figure of Edgeworth at second hand store in one of their display cases. I had thought about getting this figure a while ago, but after looking at several photos I decided that he probably didn't look that good. I especially didn't like his face on any of the photos, so I deleted him from my wishlist and didn't think of him again. Seeing him on display however convinced me that he actually isn't as bad as I thought, which is a good thing since I really wanted to have a figure of Edgeworth since he's my favorite and this is actually the only figure that exists XD

In the end I bought him from Mandarake though cause he was way too expensive at the other shop.

ITEM #53496
http://up.picr.de/30633325pn.jpg

He's one of those figures who need to be viewed from a specific angle in order to look good. I think his face is still kinda weird if you look at him up front and not from the side.

http://up.picr.de/30632365ai.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632366tp.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632367ap.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632368rc.jpg

Those who read my last post already know I have been at SEGA Joypolis in Tokyo because of the AoT attractions they had there at that time, but they also had these Ace Attorney figures on display:

http://up.picr.de/30632369or.jpg

Funny that this Edgeworth figure has the exact same pose as the one I bought.

http://up.picr.de/30632370gr.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632371ts.jpg

I like the fact that they're wearing real clothing btw!

They also had these artworks on display:

http://up.picr.de/30632372ku.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30635368ku.jpg

Phoenix looking like he's throwing a Hadouken while Edgeworth scratching his head is hilarious. Nice Street Fighter reference, Capcom!

Apart from the figure I also got this clear file and a couple of keychains from a Gashapon machine:

http://up.picr.de/30632373df.jpg

ITEM #416448 | ITEM #416449 | ITEM #416450 | ITEM #416451
http://up.picr.de/30632406up.jpg

While I was desperately trying to get Phoenix (and failed), I got Maya 4x times instead! So if anybody is interesting in her, I'm glad to get rid of the spare ones ;)

~ Free! ~
One of the few day trips my husband and I made during our holiday this time was to Iwami (Tottori), a town located at the north coast of Honshu. The place caught our attention because Iwami is the town which Iwatobi, the ficitional town the Free Anime takes place in, is based on. Iwami uses the Anime a lot to promote the town's tourism and there's even a map you can pick up at the tourist office which marks down several locations from the Anime. The tourism office itself was decorated with Free stuff as well:

http://up.picr.de/30634422qp.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30634423ro.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30634424fe.jpg

Here's the map for anyone who cares:

http://up.picr.de/30634365dp.jpg

Needless to say they also sold exclusive merchandise at the tourism office, so I got this set of postcards with locations seen in the Anime:

http://up.picr.de/30634440sx.jpg

Of course the postcards are kinda boring when only viewed by themselves, so here are the real locations the drawings are based on for comparison!

http://up.picr.de/30634451xa.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30634452qz.jpg

Some more locations everybody who watched the Anime will surely recognize immediately:

http://up.picr.de/30634499rc.jpg
The way to Makoto's house

http://up.picr.de/30634500gi.jpg
Makoto's house!

http://up.picr.de/30634497za.jpg
The stairs to Haru's home

Aaaand... Haru's home, which is actually a shrine in reality:

http://up.picr.de/30634498pf.jpg

You've got to admire the town's dedication to Free though. This was the lobby of a hotel located near the beach:

http://up.picr.de/30634534ca.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30634535za.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30634536rv.jpg

My two favorite things from the display in the lobby:

http://up.picr.de/30634538el.jpg

It's Iwatobi-chan bread!

And especially this:

http://up.picr.de/30634537ex.jpg

There's no such thing as being too old for Anime or cosplaying!

In case you are interested, beneath the spoiler tag are some more photos of Iwami :D I wonder if any of you would be interested in a blog entry entirely dedicated to the tour?

http://up.picr.de/30634631zr.jpg

And also these two figures, even though I didn't buy them in Iwami but at a shop back in Tokyo ;)

ITEM #239197 | ITEM #239196
http://up.picr.de/30634649bp.jpg

~ Other stuff ~

I got a couple of other items from my wishlist as well, among others these two Tamashii Effect flames I've been wanting for a long time:

ITEM #164706 | ITEM #206784
http://up.picr.de/30632468us.jpg

After rearragning my collection when I got rid of my Billy shelves and replaced them with Detolfs, I always thought that the shelf Yu and Adachi were standing on was missing something. Gotta admit that they're looking much better with the flames now!

http://up.picr.de/30632469kq.jpg

I also convinced my husband to buy the Nendoroid of Bokuto :D

http://up.picr.de/30632514jl.jpg

He likes to collect Haikyuu Nendoroids, however he only wants to collect everybody from Karasuno and Nekoma. He had to admit that Bokuto is really cute though... and for that price you couldn't really say no either.

http://up.picr.de/30632515vq.jpg

He also bought Lisbeth from SoA and a rubber strap of Silicia (only because he likes Pina so much XD), as well as a Tales Of one.

ITEM #146243
http://up.picr.de/30632516pk.jpg

ITEM #137183 | ITEM #137183
http://up.picr.de/30632561qm.jpg

Apart from that he got a Kirby clear file, some figures and a Yoshi cup:

http://up.picr.de/30632517rx.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30633139mc.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632518ht.jpg

That's about everything he got. At least one of us doesn't need to buy everything in sight, haha.

I also bought two suits from the Nendoroid More set:

http://up.picr.de/30633140qp.jpg

There are a couple of male Nendoroids such as ITEM #296454 and ITEM #542378 who come with a second head, so it will be nice to be able to display them wearing the suits. Definitely better than just keeping the head in the box, which feels like a waste.

Furthermore I bought some clear file folders for A4 and A5 as well as one for storing rubber straps and buttons. Originally I had only planned on getting one new clear file folder, but then I went ahead and bought clear file after clear file, so I bought a second one. Better safe than sorry! I really don't want to order one through AmiAmi again because they put it into a huge package and the shipping was ridiculous.

http://up.picr.de/30632591yc.jpg

I was skeptical about the rubber strap folder because I wasn't convinced it'd work well, but it actually does.

http://up.picr.de/30632592ad.jpg

This is a nice alternative if you don't want to display your rubber straps on a cork board because you're afraid of dust or are too lazy too frame them (or your walls are already covered with wallscrolls and posters).

Also got another set of the these bases because they're looking really good:

http://up.picr.de/30632649dk.jpg

I didn't even know they're selling spare parts for them, but it makes sense cause if you don't display them like shown on the box, the package doesn't include enough parts to use all three bases seperately.

Apart from that I got these paper theaters and a display case:

http://up.picr.de/30632670of.jpg

The Alice one is going to a friend and I hope I'll be skilled enough to put together the Pokémon one without ruining it. There was one put together as a sample in the store, so that is what it's supposed to look like in the end:

http://up.picr.de/30632671zr.jpg

Furthermore I got a some more artbooks:

http://up.picr.de/30632720ic.jpg

This one is really thick and heavy with nearly 300 pages, but recommendable for every Trails fan! Here are some artworks from the book:

http://up.picr.de/30632722qb.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632723fo.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632726rr.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632727td.jpg

I also finally got these two artbooks of Record of Lodoss War. It's an old series which I hold very dear and basically the first Anime I was really enhusiastic about, so I'm glad about whichever items I can find of it.

ITEM #44149 | ITEM #44150
http://up.picr.de/30632777nr.jpg

Some pages from the book:

http://up.picr.de/30632781rr.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632782ni.jpg

I also managed to find this mini CD with two songs from the Anime:

http://up.picr.de/30632783qc.jpg

In case anybody's interested, you can listen to one of the songs here www.youtube.com...

Also... more keychains!

ITEM #155428
http://up.picr.de/30632842sl.jpg

ITEM #584504 | ITEM #577557 | ITEM #510137
http://up.picr.de/30632840pl.jpg

I love owls XD I'm super glad I got the Fire Emblem strap from a blind box because the owl was seriously the only one I wanted from that set.

Moreover I bought this Collar x Malice strap because I am currently playing the game:

ITEM #607701
http://up.picr.de/30632841ui.jpg

Needless to say I didn't get my favorite character - or any of the main characters T_T I bought another one of them for my friend because she also played the game recently and I hope she'll be luckier than I was!

Since I'm a huge videogame addict, it goes without saying that I bought some games while I was in Japan, too:

ITEM #304248 | ITEM #304249 | ITEM #304250 | ITEM #304251
http://up.picr.de/30632891kg.jpg

I've played "The Legend of Starfy" a while ago, which is actually the 5th game in the series and the only one that was released outside of Japan (US only though). It's a Jump ’n’ Run kinda similar to the Kirby games and since I enjoyed playing it quite a lot, I wanted to get all of the previous games, too.

I've also bought nearly all of the Taiko no Tatsujin games for the DS, PSP and Vita:

ITEM #294687 | ITEM #294688 | ITEM #317110 | ITEM #317152 | ITEM #317173
http://up.picr.de/30632892xo.jpg

These rhythm games are so much fun!

I also tried my luck with other Gashapon machines which weren't filled with merch belonging to any Anime series. Luckily enough I managed to get the items from the sets I wanted the most in 95% of the cases!

http://up.picr.de/30632953is.jpg

I have no idea what this is but it's cute.

http://up.picr.de/30632954dt.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30632955of.jpg

Penguin! ^_^ And even more birds...

http://up.picr.de/30632956yo.jpg

Also some cute stickers:

http://up.picr.de/30632957ko.jpg

And a Gudetama bottle cap... something:

http://up.picr.de/30633142xz.jpg

Speaking about Gudetama, I also bought a calendar and a couple of small figures.

ITEM #583445 | ITEM #583446 | ITEM #583449 | ITEM #541471 | ITEM #582150
http://up.picr.de/30633141wy.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30633143px.jpg

I know I am going to love March 2018 when I have to stare at his ass for a whole month xD

When I bought the calendar and a couple of postcards from the Hello Kitty store, I got these two stickers and a small pouch as a reward:

http://up.picr.de/30633138cx.jpg

Apart from all the Anime stuff, I also bought a few souvenirs of course. These are probably the most interesting ones:

http://up.picr.de/30633001zr.jpg

I bought this Torii when visiting the Inari shrine in Kyoto. I like how large it is and that its size goes very well with Nendoroids.

Furthermore I bought a couple of things from the "Chirimen Craft Museum" stores in Kyoto. The stores have a lot of wonderful handmade items and it's really hard not buy everything. Their stores are also very nicely decorated, too:

http://up.picr.de/30633055cn.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30633056wo.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30633057nt.jpg

For those who're interested, here's some information about Chirimen and the stores: thekyotoproject...

In the end I narrowed it down to these few items:

http://up.picr.de/30633002xm.jpg

http://up.picr.de/30633003ps.jpg

And I also had to get this cabbage for obvious display purposes:

http://up.picr.de/30633004kn.jpg

Most people who've played P4 probably know what this is about xD

My husband and I received these Ghihibli chopsticks as a present from a friend of ours. I'll admit that I never watched Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service, but these chopsticks are nice. I really need to see the movies one day!

http://up.picr.de/30633005bp.jpg

So much for my Japan loot! I hope you enjoyed reading the second part of the blog http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/aww.gif

aluchen (1 month ago) #27442861Oh, you know German? That’s cool! :D Yes, it’s quite amusing to read these titles to be honest, but sometimes it just makes you palm your face xD That could be a reason, especially considering that I’ve only seen restaurants or shops selling clothes with German names.
But Gudetama has such a nice butt! D: Haha. I also bought the calendar for a friend of mine because he specifically asked for it and I bet he’ll make a face as well when I give it to him due to that calendar sheet (especially because his birthday is in March xD)
I can totally understand that! It would be a shame if you were there and saw a lot of awesome things (which will inevitably happen) without being able to buy them! :D

I can read/understand some basics, but I can't really speak it. ^^'' And when natives in German start talking it goes too fast for me most of the time, haha! I tried to actually learn German 2 times in my life, but I'm just really bad at picking up new languages. :( But at least it's nice that I can read German text and know a bit what's going on. :)

I really don't mind looking at Gudetama's butt for a month, I think it's hilarious. xD But considering we share the space where the calendar is going to be put up..... xD I think I will buy a Pusheen one for the new year, unless you have some good recommendations from other funny Japanese ones you saw?

Yeah! I really like Garage Kits, so I want to visit at least one GK event like Treasure Festa for example. Considering a GK can be easily 10K and be a one-in-a-lifetime-chance to buy, I really don't want to be there and drool without the possibility of buying anything!!!

Maakie (1 month ago) #27382089Don't get me started on the cringy things I have seen with Attack on Titan doujinshi titles. :') My German is quite bad, but even I flinched a bit there, haha! And about German at other places: I am not sure why the language stuck there, but I guess we can compare it to how much fancy places and products get 'French-sounding' names here?
I showed the picture to my husband and he said "So if you buy that calendar, I would have to look at Gudetama's butt during all of March?". I guess I'll be looking for another calender now. :')
And thanks! For sure it will be possible in the future! :) It's just that I have a lot of very high standards for it (which is also my own fault), because I really want to visit a lot of pricey places like theme parks and conventions, and I want to have lots of money to buy stuff too! I could go there earlier if I went on a budget, but I want it to be the trip of my dreams! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚

aluchen (1 month ago) #27273693I've seen my fair share of them, too xD Most of them were Attack on Titan related though, so I always though it made a least some kind of sense since they've German last names and the setting is also based on a German city. But Persona doesn't have any relations to the German language xD That being said there were a bunch of shops in Japan with German names, too. Needless to say they didn't make sense either...
Oh, you like Gudetama, too? :D The calendar is great, haha. It even comes with some stickers to mark important events (not that I can read which sticker is supposed to go for which event ^^").
Thank you! I hope you'll be able to go to Japan one day as well :)

Don't get me started on the cringy things I have seen with Attack on Titan doujinshi titles.

Maakie (1 month ago) #27246788A lot of Japanese people find German a super cool language. I have seen so many doujinshi with (incorrect lol) German 'nifty sounding' titles. xD
I btw really like that prize(?) figure of the flying Jack 'o Lantern in your blog! I'm not very familiar with Persona names, sorry.
Also that Gudetama calender, now I want one just like it for the new year. xD
Nice blog, makes me so jealous, I want to go to Japan too! ^^

aluchenI wonder why the title is in German. It seems totally random ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

aluchen (1 month ago) #27210326Thank you!
To be honest I didn't know that fact until I added the figure to my collection on MFC and saw that Beelzebub actually comes it two parts. What makes this an even bigger stroke of luck is that I found the figure in a bargain bin for mere 600 Yen :D
That's the beauty of bargain hunting in Japan. Look elsewhere, and it's probably around ¥4000-6000.

Kimm134Saya (1 month ago) #27205242Great haul! That Beelzebub figure is actually pretty rare because the lower part is only available by getting Sandman which is the secret figure in the set.
