I recently received my Taibani Figuarts ZERO - Kotetsu, Barnaby and Keith.

The quality of both Barnaby & Keith were appalling. Barnaby had a poor paint job - you could see paint between his fringe and spectacles. Keith's hair colour was totally off, his eyes were loopy and looked like a bootleg.

After contemplating for a week, I contacted Nippon-Yasan requesting for an exchange, and they responded asking for the barcode. Is it on the outer brown box they come in with? *headdesks*

I've thrown them away cos the boxes were all dented. I only kept the inner box. Does anyone know if they will still allow me to exchange without the barcode?

I'm so depressed!!!

P/S Thank you all to those who commented. I'm probably stuck with them but I feel much better after voicing my frustration. Hugs to all. ^_^

RolanMcDolan (1 year ago) #1086349If it's any consolation, I've heard that the quality for most of the non-One Piece Figuarts Zeroes ranges between mediocre and awful. There are all manner of horror stories about the P4 Protagonist, Kenshin, and Kamen Rider W FZs. If you want good T&B figures, just stick with the S.H. Figuarts of the armored heroes, which are nothing short of stellar.

Thank you. I do feel much better. I'll need to complete the whole collection though cos I'm that anal. LOL!!

But lesson learned and will be more mindful when making any future purchases of Figuarts Zeroes. ;)

mikki-malu (1 year ago) #1086120I've heard many times FiguArts are not as good as the prototypes and though some of them look quite decent from the pics this hit-or-miss reason always held me back from getting them :( Maybe Banpresto figures will be better, and not so expensive as Megahouse (though MH quality will be the best of course).

I was so confident that the Figuarts Zero would not be so bad since the Figuarts version are so good (I'm pretty new to this), hence I skipped the Banpresto release. I'm probably 1-2 figures behind to start now. Anyway, once bitten, twice shy. I'll just stick to scaled ones moving forward. ^^

To escape_rope

Yes, I'll still be keeping them cos I've ordered the rest - Ivan, Pao-lin, Karina. I'm hoping to get all of them to match the Figuarts version.

Hopefully I can get at least Barnaby replaced but slim chance there since I dumped the outer box.

Now I'll be depending on the GEM releases for better versions of my heroes. Sigh....

Atheist1 (1 year ago) #1085950LOL!! I don't mean Nippon-Yasan sell bootlegs. I meant that it looked like a bootleg. Kinda sucks though.... *headdesks again*
ah, I see. You were just thinking whether your figures were defective and would you get replacements. Sorry ^^"

I had Kotetsu ordered but luckily I cancelled him before the release 'cause when the figure came out it was nothing like I expected - so I'm glad I cancelled mine.
Are you planning to keep yours eventhough they're not as good as you expected?

escape_rope (1 year ago) #1085889If you ask me, these figures aren't very well made and they look horrible - yes, the official ones too. So it's not a surprise the figures look different from what they look in Bandai's official pictures.
And I don't think Nippon-Yasan sells bootlegs o.o
You can compare Kotetsu and Barnaby figs to pictures users have taken:

I'm pretty sure yours are not bootlegs.
