davestal (2 months ago) #1426172Right now I have my own Chocolat/Vanilla daki hanging on my wall Vanilla-side-out, and as I was admiring it, I noticed something funny: Vanilla's panties are (half) on backwards. Assuming that the little bow goes on the front of the panty (which it always does), then her right leg is going through the left leg hole!!
I can't really blame Sayori too much for drawing it though... bows are adorable.

Wow, nice catch, man. I'm definitely not a detail oriented person, so this is something I probably never would have caught myself.

Alright, so I decided to get one, once I got my pillow I went ahead and ordered the "Sena Kashiwazaki Smooth Knit" one from amiami, I was already using the pillow to sleep before I got my cover because it's the softest pillow I own, but once I got my cover all bets were off, the art is nice, the colors are great and the cover is even softer than the pillow, there's no way I'm not sleeping with it, I don't see why people would thinkit weird to sleep with a comfy pillow, but who gives a damn, I sleep with it every night, and it's the softest thing in the freakin universe, when I'm not sleeping it adds more anime flare to my room too.

Ah, guess I could see the reasoning. Though to me it just looks like a pouty expression; her facial features otherwise don't resemble a loli to me. I usually base what I'd call a loli on the proportions of the whole body and facial features. Other than the smaller bust size, they both look like older teens to me with their height and more angular faces. A rounded face does seem to be a common loli trait, but I think Vanilla's face is just rounded slightly because of the pouty expression and hand placement.

I don't actually display them, strangely enough. I just like owning them. Sometimes I'll pin one to the back of my door and swap them out occasionally, but that's about it. Do you know how these are folded? I always have trouble putting them back into their original plastic.

Heh, yeah, I'll definitely agree with that point. Quite a few of my fellow collector friends still buy a lot of what I call "company" covers, though I suppose official is the better word. I stopped buying them years ago after a consistent disappointment when it came to quality. They have gotten better over the years, but I'd probably attribute that success to companies like CranCrown and Takumi Makura (though those are original characters and not based off an existing property, so they might even be considered a circle, I guess.) The Evening Call BRS cover is probably one of my favorites from Evening Call, which is saying a lot. Evening Call has to be my favorite circle overall, with their consistently good quality, astounding quantity, and the fact that they now ship internationally.

Yet another trait we share. I don't remember the last time I had one on a pillow, and I usually only hang them up to take pictures, after which I take them back down and store them. I'd probably display them more often if I had the space, but as it is now they are all stacked away in boxes and shelves. I just love collecting them. With the way my proxy is set up, I usually request a shipment every 3-4 months, and a typical shipment has anywhere between 5-15 dakimakura covers. Opening the package, laying them all out, and then taking my time to open and admire each one... it's a very enjoyable moment when it comes.

I'm not very good at folding them, either. I'm able to get them back in their packaging, but they never look anything like before I took them out.
