i"Cold-hearted" amiami?n/a

The story began with me preordering item #111604 .
Having waited for a few months i was surprised to see it being delayed to late February which originally supposed to be released late January 2013. and I thought...well lets utilize the budget available for the next best thing. Franky POP maximum item #93862.

Fearing that it's an exclusive albeit the confusing standard run for production outside japan i just figured to cover all the bases and decide to go with pre-ordering through BiJ which means.....Immediate payment required.Poof money for item #111604 gone.

and then..... amiami came knocking saying my order is ready and I dont have enough cash for the order..So i wrote an email pleading for more time time to pay the pre-order as i really want it badly and don't want to cancel the order.I asked for a deadline until 28th February 2013 to complete the payment. this is their reply:

I was certain they were gonna ban my a$$!Wooohoooo. This couldn't have been any better.

So fast forward until now I'm telling you this story and now

Thanks amiami for being considerate.I will not risk it again went pre-order release is around the corner.

AmiAmi would only let me extend the payment deadline ONCE.
In six months or so I dared ask for it once again, and they told me there's nothing that can be done this time.

So...they remember. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G

AmiAmi's given me a payment extension before when something very unexpected came up around Godoka's release. I was verrrryyy happy.

Though, remember folks, make sure to do the absolute best you can to not have to do this/do it multiple times. The reason AmiAmi's gotten strict with cancellations and such is because they ended up being taken advantage of by people who pre-ordered first and thought later. So yeah. Be nice to Ami and they'll be nice to you.

This is lovely. I'm glad to see that they did this for you. Not to mention a little bit surprised!

I love AmiAmi's service, they are incredible for sure. I was happy when they let me cancel Ignis and Yui due to the constant delays on those two. I buy from them often as well in their pre-owned area and I'm gonna be busy with them in April...

Still AmiAmi has got great Customer Service.

I haven't had the need to ask for an Extension, I get it paid as soon as I get the invoice...

The thing with Amiami is that they're ultimately a business, and will be willing to bend the rules a little if it means keeping a frequent customer. I've been buying from them on a bi-monthly basis for over two years now, so it's gotten to the point where they're okay with me canceling one or two items every so often.

baldr365 (2 months ago) #1394481I see this happen way too often. People bitching about being unable to afford a figure since it's delayed, all because they have control issue and can't save the money till next month to pay for the preorder. At least admit you can't control yourselves rather than saying the shop is bad.

This this this! Bad budgeting and lack of self control are no reason to get upset over a shop for when they refuse to give you want you want. It's great that they did this time. But ultimately it's up to the buyer to make sure they have enough money set aside for all their purchases, and not the shop's obligation to cater to the buyers whims.

It's good of them to extend the deadline but in this case I can see you weren't really to for blame thinking you had longer to pay than you did (as opposed to the occassions where I've seen people try to cancel because they just budgeted badly).

You know, it kind of serves you right for just spending the money that was supposed to be there for the order. You're lucky they were nice enough to extend the deadline, most businesses won't do that. It's clear you've learned from the experience though.
