I started in August last year. During a trip to a local city I came across a game-shop with alot of imported stuff, including figures. After pretty much spending everything I had on the games there, I decided to get one of the Dragon Quest Play Arts that were there too, you know, just for fun.

And then I decided to collect the entire set. And then I wanted to get the Persona stuff they also had. And before I knew it, I was scouring the internet looking for sites that sold more of those figures, thus truly starting my collection. Funny how that works.

I've been collecting figures since I was a kid, took particular interest when I was like 10-12, so this would have been 1999-2000. Then I stopped for a while, you know became a teenager went through high school etc. Upon entering University in 2007, after working for 7 years (since I was 15) combined with grant money and stuff from Uni; I realized I was in a position to start pursuing some personal interests of mine. I had always (and still do) loved figures so I started investing serious money into my collection in the summer of 2010 (June 2010). Just coming up on my second year anniversary of being a full fledged collector ^^

I've been collecting ball jointed dolls since 2008 (but been in the community since 2006) and it eventually led to me collecting action figures because I'm a sucker for possibility but that was only really recently like, last year. March I believe? I want to say March...
It's only been since about last year that I actually had a way that I could fund such a hobby.

Been an anime/manga fan for years but only around 2010 did I start to collect any figures. Years back I had Light and L nendoroids and I was content with just them as I had no need for any others. Fast forward to 2010 and buying them again and slowly finding myself wanting more. So now I know why you don't buy bootlegs (my original Light and L were official but I still wondered about what was so bad about bootlegs) and finding so many reasons why collecting figures are just as good if not better than collecting animes/mangas. Now when I go to cons I look at the figures when years ago I had just pass them by. XD

I got nendoroid petits in December 2011, I haven't gotten my first scale, though. My first figma comes in the end of June and my first scale will be an epic one! ITEM #78917

I'm so excited. I have had my first nendoroid for a while! I forgot about him, I didn't know what he was or that he was an awesome figure. But I don't think my collection started until December of last year and isn't taking full speed until this year.

Started with that infamous Woody Revoltech toy that had a nasty look on his face. Been trying to come up with ideas on photoshoots for him. :P

My first ever figure purchase was ITEM #13242 back in '10 when I got money for graduating high school. My 5th grade teacher gave me $50 on a VISA gift-card (since I invited her as my inspirational person), and that was right around the time of my "otaku-ness/Anime and Manga" peak so I wanted to buy something online. And, I just finished 'Lucky Star' so I wound up buying that figma.

After that, I found this site and the rest is history :P

I'm still bummed I was barely on the cusp for getting some of the really nice figures that are hard to get now.....
