AstoriaMercury (16 hours ago) #25004547My blog post The rules state that shop questions should go in the appropriate thread in the forum. In your case, since you mention Mandarake, here: (mfc link)

I didn't delete your blog but since you have context I can give you a reason why it would have been.

jsyk under Blogging Guidelines in the FAQ, there is this:

- Shop questions/rants/reviews as well as shop related shipping and customs items are not permitted. Please instead use the relevant Shop Thread or try our shipping and customs forum.

I do agree that you should be notified the exact reason a blog or anything is deleted, but the information isn't hidden or out of the way either.

My blog post made last night was deleted because it violated the rules. It was asking people about their experience with Mandarake's order processing. I've read and reread the rules. I cannot seem to find which article this violates, unless it has somehow offended a user. In that case I would like to be given a more precise reason as to which rule my post violates or the reason, if any, why it was reported.

Being relatively new to collecting I am a very active member of the community and will only contribute more further down the road. However, I strongly believe in moderation transparency, which is why a simple message to "read the rules" has not cleared up anything for me. At this point it seems more like a whim of some capricious individual.

While my blog post is asking for anecdotal evidence, a search over the Internet has not yielded any similar content on MFC. The most similar entry is (mfc link), which is asking something even more subjective: personal opinion about what is the best shop as opposed to personal record of quantifiable information. Under the guidelines it states shop questions should go under the forums, in which case I don't understand how my question about the same shop asking about everyone's experience would not be kept when I've seen a multitude of entries that do make clear reference to individual difficulties with a particular store. See these other examples: (mfc link), (mfc link), (mfc link), (mfc link). As you can see many of them actually come from a single individual, and I am wondering if these happened to slip through the cracks somehow. I do not see why they would be an exception to this rule in this case. The feedback I will offer is that posting criteria needs to reflect precisely what sort of questions are allowed about a shop, if any. I can't be the only one with a question like this in the community, and my post was the only one deleted in a sea of exceptions that are also about shops. I personally thought this blog question would be helpful for others to find because it covered something new over one of the most popular Japanese sites. Combing through dozens of pages in a general forum for the mention of something similar is not convenient since the forums are not indexed properly by search engines unlike with blog posts.

It seems like none of these comments ever get replied to, but evidently you guys need to listen to community input more. I know how thankless the job can be. Please though, don't turn it into a passionless job where you do not regard the feelings of members. I do not ever want to post anything with the lingering fear that it'll get removed because it offended the sensibilities of someone higher up without being explicitly stated in the rules. And frankly, that's the sort of behavior that turns me away from a community.

First my NSFW preferences kept getting reset several times a day. Now even when my account is marked as being able to view NSFW images, any time I click on one it gives me the message "This picture is not suitable for people under 18." and I can't view it until I click "I'm over 18". This is EXTREMELY annoying since this is mainly what I deal with. Any ETA on when this will be fixed?

Edit: I have found a way to fix this (it lasts for a day). In case anyone else is having this issue - if you put your cursor over your avatar, there is a "SFW" switch that when you click on it, it shows all of the NSFW stuff. For some reason it just hangs on the home screen, so you need to do it on a page with adult images. It's a little strange how there are two SFW/NSFW settings now, and only one of them works.

Wow, v4 is getting a lot of negative feedback, huh? I'm not a fan of it myself and there are some changes that I consider to be downgrades but at least it's not just me. I really hope everyone's feedback is taken into consideration for future updates.

Picture section is a mess now... No grid aligning of pictures, bad thumbnail quality (max jpg compression?) picture info block is inconspicuous now... But related items category's colors are now more noticeable.

Oh, comments... It's like dialog view now...

And Gallery link on Item's page is broken ((mfc link))

Why every new update makes only worse?

I'm nearly blind in one eye but usually I can get along tech just fine. Usually. Since the start of the slowly creeping change from section to section of mfc, I began to have a bigger eye strain than normal. This was just on phone, mind you. I opened mfc on my laptop once or twice and immediately regretted it. Haven't used the desktop version since, not even on tablet. I'm actually afraid to open it on tablet but at least zooming would be less screen demanding

I'm really disappointed that kuma deleted the v4 blog because these continued changes of one by one feel like we have no say in this.

The things that are jarring to me besides the squished overall look;

Design. Oh boy. I love green, I really do but it's everywhereeee. Too many accents. Wrong text getting thrown in that green that doesn't know if it wants to ease your eyes or stab them. Banners are a nightmare. I don't want it to follow me like mobile Safari as I scroll down. Why is it squished? Blog section? It's all over the place. The top comments aren't destinguishable at all. The titles are cut off. I don't know what I'm reading about until I read the whole post. Can't open just the comments? Ugh. Logo? UGH. What is that? I'm sorry but no.

The old design was robust enough, this change makes it look like early 2010s and the start of Andorid software/smartphones. Even the green is similar. This is no step forward at all.

I wanted to be a supporter this month but until I see the whole change I'll either stay rgb or visit mfc less.

Seems like the V4 update is expanding more and the next "victim" is the Picture section.....
Sigh...I think that the point of an update is to make things better not worse and difficult.Navigating trough the pictures seems harder now,I mean where are the categories?(Bootlegs, collections, spaces etc)Also I don't know if it's just me but after the update the pictures look kind of blurry. And regarding the comment section:where is the preview option?
Seriously I love this site and spend a lot of time here-like so many other people do!- so please stop making it hard to use or at least make the new version optional!
