Figure Site and Shop ForumFigure Site and Shop ForumThis club is for discussion and shop & site related questions.

Hi I started this club so that people could discuss the shops and sites they use to buy figures. Please add a new discussion for the shop/site you want to talk about since it will make it easier for other people to find information on this shop/site in the future.

Please leave appropriate feedback for stores here:

MFC Shops Feedback & Rating Pages
This club is dedicated to web based anime/figure ...ect shops for physical ("brick and mortar") stores please visit Local Shopping Guides

Update: We are updating/editing all first posts on threads to provide more uniform/detailed information on each entry featured and removing the poll section as feedback can now be left for each shop in our MFC shop section. (mfc link)

Is it just me, or is there an increase lately in the number of shops/places that aren't even trying to package items very well?

Twice in just the past few days I've received items that were damaged (one slightly, the other catastrophically) due in large part because when placed in the shipping box, no or almost no packing material was included to provide some cushioning. For companies who ship around the world every day, they sure don't seem to know how to do it... or perhaps they just don't care.

It's very disheartening to look forward to getting an item, then open the box to see the remains. It's one thing when they tried to pack it as well as possible, but the shipping company used it for batting practice; I don't blame the place I purchased it from in that situation. But when my purchase doesn't even rate stuffing some newspaper around it... er, why am I ordering from you, again? Oh that's right -- I'm not ordering from you again.

I'm becoming convinced I should stop even trying to get anything else, and just keep my money.

Anyone know what the cheapest shipping option would be when using Big In Japan as a forwarder? I've ordered around 15 doujinshi, most B5, ranging from 10-30 pages each (I've calculated around 305 pages total) and a small charm and have estimated it would be around five pounds/2.27kg (actually 4lbs/1.82kg but I'm assuming the shipping materials will add another pound) in weight. I've heard SAL is cheapest, but looking at their shipping charts it may be slightly cheaper to go with EMS or even FedEx.
Since I still have one package to wait for before they ship my stuff, I figured I'd ask for input from others who may use the same service.
I'm super paranoid at the moment as this is my first time using a forwarding service and I don't want to spend too much on the total.

EDIT: Ended up going with SAL anyway and it came out cheaper than expected, so all is well.

Kazkari (16 days ago) #3306543Hello I'm wanting to transfer an order on Big In Japan and I've emailed them about it like a week ago and today since I've got no reply. What should I do? Its so frustrating dealing with them.

They have a very very very bad customer service.

If you have on mind another shop, better.

Arwen17 (24 days ago) #3262102www.xl-shop.com seems legit. Anyone used them before?
They've got some really rare stuff.

It's a Malaysia-based shop and it's super popular among Malaysian figure collectors so I guarantee that is really legit (so no bootlegs). I have shopped there quite few times (both online & physical stores)
