Leosach (6 days ago) #2471724Quoting myself to bring this up since I got no reply LOL is there any other place, maybe a forum where I can open this kind of discussion? (I'm not into Forums so I really don't know) is it a worth discussion to be made? With the database as flooded as it is with seemingly redundant copyrights and such, extra origins don't seem like much of an issue.

If the manufacturer lists the origin as Marvel/DC Universe, use that. If it says the comic the character is from, use that. If it doesn't say, well then either is fine as long as it's sensible.Eccmy (5 days ago) #2472351A similar question than the one lazymez asked a few posts below, with a different encyclopedia type:
I plan to add two Tokimeki Memorial 2 shopping bags to the database, and when I tried to see if their classification (ショッパー, lit. "Shopper") was already input, I noticed there were two entries: encyclopedia #32823 and encyclopedia #61712.
So, I seek advice. I see virtually no difference between the two, and encyclopedia #61712 only has one item linked to it anyway, shouldn't we merge the entries into encyclopedia #32823 and add the aliases "Shopper Bag" and "ショッパー" to it?
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Leosach (21 days ago) #2443365Question about origins, for Marvel and DC "minor" Characters with few figures (JP At least) Isn't better the just use as origin a "generic" origin as encyclopedia #73120 instead of creating multiple origins such as encyclopedia #74646 or encyclopedia #49796 ? my opinion is that it would fit them more and not spam encyclopedia with multiple "minor" origins... in DC side is quite common using the DC universe origin for them if they are Minor, so... any suggestions?

Katto (7 days ago) #2469498Per the FAQ, only items of either Japanese manufacturer or origin (so from a Japanese anime, manga, game etc) or both. The reason there are some items of American make exist is because it's from a Japanese origin, and likewise there are Western origins (such as Disney films) because the item was made by a Japanese manufacturer.
Hopefully that makes sense, feel free to ask more questions if you need to! :)

Thank you. :)

myu (8 days ago) #2468060I wonder if it is allowed to add the Disney Designer/Limited/Fairytale doll releases to MyFigureCollection. Most items here were made in Japan but i also saw some items that were not made in Japan. What do you think? Would love to add them to my collection on MyFigureCollection.

NitroPLUS (9 days ago) #2464928Looking at the items linked to both the Pass Case and IC Card Case, I'd say they're the same. Judging by the minor amount of 12 items linked to IC Card Case (versus the 755 items linked to Pass Case), it looks like this category was created accidentally and used wrongly those few times.Good enough for me :) I've merged the two and included more aliases

Katto (10 days ago) #2463181It does seem like they are..? I'm not too sure if they're intended to be the same thing or not, perhaps a third opinion, anyone?

lazymez (10 days ago) #2463041I added few pass cases and came to notice all pass cases are evenly spread between 'misc' and 'hanged up' categories regardless if they are plush, chained or foldable.
Should pass cases with chain or reel be in 'hanged up' and rest in the 'misc'? Or everything in 'misc'?
Bonus question; isn't this encyclopedia #40663 classification basicly same as encyclopedia #24144?
If it's designed to hang, it should be 'hanged up'. Unfortunately this seems to be confused at times.
