I'm not facing the situation for now, but I'm curious and would like to know if I ever do come up with it:

If I ever find a figure from a non-Japanese manufacturer, but with co-Japanese origins (like, for example, "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" aka "Taiyou no Ko Esteban", which was a French-Japanese co-production), would it be possible to add it in the database?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Is it me or have quite a lot of my encyclopedia additions from the last two days been deleted? Two days ago I added encyclopedia #61554 and its eight main characters, yesterday there were only six left (Sakuraba Alice and Kamine Ayaka are gone). Yesterday I added Pia♥Carrot e Youkoso!! G.P. and its five main characters (Satou Hina, Shiotsuki Sakura, Moromizato Aoi, Kurosu Miu and Kurosu Misaki), today they're all gone... @_@

Nevermind my question, they were orphan entries.

Muntoe (2 months ago) #1972578Since the JAN code is only required for media I would say add the cards with all of the info you have and don't put it in draft mode, just leave a comment saying they can alert it if needed. Since they're really old I don't think there will be a problem since you have pretty much every other possible piece of information.

Ok, understood! I'll follow your advice. Thank you a ton for your answer, Muntoe! :)

Quick question, regarding Draft Mode.

I've recently found, thanks to the Internet Archive, a ton of official data regarding old Tokimeki Memorial telephone cards. I've got everything (official pictures, original price, release date, catalog ID, name of the card's theme - i.e. data pertaining to the "Version" box-)... Except for the JAN code, which Konami never lists in their Konamilook / Konamistyle sites.

Should I leave the entries I'll create thanks to that official data in Draft Mode, so someone who own the cards and thus have access to the JAN can add it freely; or (since the JAN really is the only missing info) should I not put the entry in Draft Mode, and just leave a comment in the entry asking for anyone who knows the JAN to alert the entry?

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Yes, thank you for the clarification, guys. Sorry I'm behind. I've been without internet and at a convention for the past few days.

Thank you, Missdeep and Muntoe, for editing so many entries. I try to keep track of the entries I submit and my subscriptions are exploding XD.

Muntoe (2 months ago) #1965813Nah I'm the same way, we try to make things consistent around here so I'm glad that we caught this before anything else was changed. Changing those is no problem and I'll look to see if there's any more but since you guys are the SM experts I'll be counting on you to let us know :p

Thanks for being so nice about it. I'm definitely not trying to cause trouble. I'm personally just trying to make it easier for people to look for things. However, now that we have an official word, it should be easier now. Thank you so much.

Thank you for clearing up the confusion. We've been doing this for months now and no one told us otherwise so I profusely apologize. I already quoted Ohnoraptors and asked her, but whoever gets to it first. The only things I have time to look up right now are (mfc link), (mfc link), and (mfc link). They'll all need changed.

It doesn't matter to me whether it's title or version, I just wanted all the same items linked together that's all.

mintbunny (2 months ago) #1962941I just changed one of things back. I'm sorry, but you can't have one thing one way and another thing another way. The OCD here drives me crazy! XDPaulichu (2 months ago) #1962911Yea, but the person is quite experienced... which is why I figured I better ask.
Hi guys :) I'm not sure who this "experienced person" was (gosh I hope it wasn't me forgetting) but kumasanmk and almost all the MODs who had time to think about this question agreed the correct field is Title, not version. NitroPLUS basically described the features of both version and title exactly how we define them; Title can be for more generic items, as described in the FAQ under generic rules:

FAQAbout titles: Title is NOT a required field! Must be used for:
Objects (e.g. Haruhi's School Uniform).

while version is more appropriate for small other details like if it's matte, a swimsuit version of the figure, a bust, etc. I hope that clears up some confusion and if you'd like some help editing entries feel free to PM me.
