Maakie (8 days ago) #14812408Question! What about doujins from Japanese media, drawn by Western artists, is that allowed in the database?
It hits the origin + characters being Japanese, so it should be allowed. But wanted to check here for sure (so I don't spend a lot of time adding an item, to see it get removed quickly after).
Note for the one I want to add (as it may influence if the entry is allowed): It's in a style looking a lot like the original manga, I was surprised it was done by a Western artist.

If your doujinshi can be found on Japanese sellers website (MelonBook, Toranoana, Lashingbang, ect…) and/or if it was sold during a Japanese convention so yes it's acceptable.
There is a lot of work that come China, Taiwan, ect… from some convention like the Fancy Frontier and there are not allowed in the database since the guideline is clear about it :

Media released in Japan (Japanese releases only).

Hope it can help you :)

Muntoe (5 days ago) #14887757Dunno if it being sold worldwide counts the same as sold in Japan, you need to ask someone who has more experience with adding doujin. A European convention does not qualify for obvious reasons.

Well, it wasn't that obvious to me, considering the artist in question is Japanese and made them in Japan, just sold in Europe. ^^'' Anyway, thanks for the replies so far, I'll ask around some more! :)

Uke (2 days ago) #14945251Would someone be so kind to add Akita Shotens Twitter and that Icon to this entry?: encyclopedia #8040
Thank you ^^

It's maybe easier/quicker to alert the entry? (Sorry, I also can't make changes!)

Maakie (5 days ago) #14877339Another question, it turns out that T's system also made casts of the Rensouhou-chan of this figure item #198781 seperately. I would like to add it to the database. Should it be a related figure to the entry item #198781 ? Or doesn't it count as it's own entry and could be a made as a note at item #198781 (something like "Rensouhou-chan also seperately for sale")?Add it to the database as a separate entry and link it as "Bundled With" to item #198781. I'd also make a note in the further info that this kit was sold separately on its own (thus meriting its own entry).

Maakie (5 days ago) #14877339Ah, there is the problem. It was only sold at European conventions and next to that sold worldwide online. I didn't know there was a JP event limited rule (I thought that rule only applied to online selling). I also got an doujinshi from a Japanese artist that has also been selling them worldwide online + had a few stands at European cons. I think the same applies here and also not allowed to the database?Dunno if it being sold worldwide counts the same as sold in Japan, you need to ask someone who has more experience with adding doujin. Muntoe (8 days ago) #14814081I don't see a problem with this as long as it was sold in Japan and follows all of our other media guidelines. Seems like a pretty uncommon thing.

One of my items was deleted and I was hoping for some help on why. The item was a poster from the Sakira KS. From my understanding, posters cannot be added if they are free/bundled with some other media. I added the posters because you get them as a set/tier or because you could also purchase them stand alone. I thought this excluded them from the rule or am I thinking wrong?

theyasminshow (9 days ago) #14801936Questions about the update (mfc link)
1, so is it any sexually explicit images or just ones involving children (like the ones in question recently)?
2, so if you have the media in hand does that mean you cannot upload photos of it?
Need to know since I might have some images to delete ´・×・`
1. All NSFW sexually explicit images. Yes, this includes adults as well.
2. You cannot. However if you wanted to share these on a blog post or something and it does not involve children I think it would be OK to use an external hosting service and put them in your blog. I'd say this probably depends on how a MOD or ADM is feeling at the time. Basically we are no longer hosting any explicit media images.

Edit: I think for #2 if you already had existing photos with this content just leave them, this rule prevents further ones. I don't want to go too wild crazy witchhunt on all this content. Just delete your Official/Chan photos and don't add any further ones into the Items/Various category.
