Watabi (2 days ago) #2428455So I would use the same Jan code for each separate one correct?
I know right orz. Aren't they just precious though? ;w;)) You could try splitting the(?). I bet Okra is just screaming your name.
Well, they don't have individual different JANs so what are the choices? I remember being told box JAN is preferred for these cases, but Animate lists only 1pcs JAN for these (saw box JAN at cafereo) so... go figure? I'm sure there's no harm done no matter which you use in cases like these. ^^; We can't tell for sure which JAN will be more popular until they're all around the web after release, but usually it is the box JAN.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'll probably try to hunt some of these second-hand later. There's only few days left before deadline. My budget, sniff.

lazymez (7 days ago) #2420895Go safely for inviduals. Animate always gives you singular price, but still only offers such collectibles in full sets online. From my experiences they'll arrive shoved into clear plastic bag instead of actually designed complete box anyway. : D
I want those so bad why must they have preorder deadline before my payday ;A;

Where do you buy these doujinshi from? If you buy them from Tora then on the stickers on the plastic outer bags, they always have the title (or as much of it as possible) written in katakana so we can know the readings from that.
That sounds really nice, wish they had those kana readings online too but no :C Most of the circles I collect doujinshi from are old as hell so I've scraped their works from Mandarake, auctions and such.

Thanks. I chose to use artists' most recent names in most cases.
To romanisation matter, I think I added two or three entries where kanji combinations completely puzzled me. I kept those drafted. I'll try your suggestion, translation thread, after I come across with more of such titles. At moments like these it really sucks to have no friends with really fluent japanese.
+ thanks (and sorry) for everyone who corrected some titles on my entries ^^; I had completely forgot capital letter rule for titles that had english names to begin with (japanese don't seem to care much about capitals). I'll be more careful in the future.

lazymez (7 days ago) #2420905Also, I've got my own questions.
I'm starting to include my doujinshi into DB and I'm going the slow way by adding most of the works by those circles. Then I came into two challenging situations:
1) If same circle's artist has two aliases (old one they used for their older fandom and new which they've used from then on for all of their latter work) how should I comply? Do I make two separate entries for them, or use newer one on older works too? They've got about same amount of works under both names. I digged around internet and every doujinshi site still prefers to use their old artist name for those older works, I've not seen mix of them anywhere.
2) I always forget that some doujinshi names are hell for romanisation because of complicated kanji combinations. Should I just skip adding those :/ or try to give it a go even if it goes a bit wrong, or can romanisations be skipped under some excuse?

1) The preferred method here is to keep the artist under one encyclopedia entry and attach all names under Alias. There doesn't seem to be any specific rule regarding which name you decide to use as the entry's name (not even for commerical/doujinka names) but the most commonly used one would be best.

2) Romanisations shouldn't be skipped since doujinshi pretty much always require a title. I know these can be tricky to romanise but in my opinion that shouldn't deter you from adding them anyway. I would only advise against adding too many that you're really unsure of. If you're stuck, perhaps try posting in the translation thread (mfc link).

Watabi (7 days ago) #2420638Hello, sorry for the noobish question but I wasn't sure how to add this item: (ext link)
It only has one Jan code so would I add them all under one item or individually with the same jan code?
Thanks! .v.)
