I think you should go for Luka now, since this one will be available later. Max Factory never re-released a single figure (except a standard Haruhi). This figure is released 3 times, even now there is a lot of her on Mandarake. This one will be easy to get later, while I think Luka will sell out soon and after that she will be expensive.

It's funny how there's a sudden explosion of selling the old one for much cheaper than before ... hmmmm. ;) Although, who would want the old version when you can get the new slightly better version?? I guess folks who can't wait!

Indeed, I didn't noticed it was said Ver. R on seller's website, I suppose this case is pretty similar to POP and POP Neo as you said... Though Gintoki GEM had 2 re release too, the first didn't change, and the second had a different base. But as this new Saber release have a new version name, I suppose a new entry would be normal.
(Whatever for me, I don't have the first, the second, and will not have the third release of her, too fanservice for me X^D)

I understand your opinion, but I don't think so... it's still a re release, not a new figure. It was the same for Gintoki GEM figure for example which base as changed too, and there's probably other figures in the same case, but it's just my opinion =^)

The new one has a slightly refined/changed sculpt. And the colors are changed as well as the base to match Saber Alter's base.
