Placing it in this position stabilizes the stand more because it uses the base of the figure iself instead of another surface. I display mine like this and it is highly stable. Hope that helps.

Any tiny movement in the room usually shifts that thing. I plan to get some Detolfs soon so maybe a better shelf will help but in the meantime any suggestions would be great.
