Elphaba (2 years ago) #2780156Thanks for all the info! I had read that the blind box version was more detailed than the one that came in the blister package set, but maybe that was just people bitter over the re-release trying to still think theirs was better? lol. I just bought the blister one so I feel better after reading your comment.

Paint jobs vary from figure to figure, of course, but they are definitely the same figures no matter which version you get. :)

Anyway, glad to help and I hope you enjoy it.

lonesomefolly (4 years ago) #1425392I have a question, I've noticed this is sold individually or in a pack, is there a difference between the two versions?

There is no difference in the figure itself, but the packaging and method of acquisition is very different.

The figure is from the Final Fantasy Creatures Kai Vol. 1 blind box set. Originally, these were single figures sold in Japan. You didn't know what you'd get until you bought the box and opened it (usually from a toy store or vending machine), and the Tina/Terra figure was not even shown on the box, which meant she was a secret figure in the set, and she was far more rare.

Some time later, the entire set was released for westerners as a complete box with Terra included (under the exact same set name). That's the version you see as a full pack. Because they're the exact same figures Japanese collectors had spent so much time and money acquiring, it definitely ruffled a few feathers over there. However, the US box set was a limited run and is difficult to find.

Nowadays, this figure is very rare. If you can find it (and that's a big IF), expect to pay a pretty penny for it. This also has the distinction of being one of the very few figures of this character that exists, AND it's a replica of the famous Japanese cover art of the game by Yoshitaka Amano, which just makes it that much more desirable for collectors. I should know, because I spent a lot of time tracking it down for my own collection!
