This is to anyone who has received him, i've gotta ask:

From what i can see in the pictures, when he's fully clothed his crotch is relatively flat which leads me to believe that you can opt to remove the penis altogether and just have the cloth.
Sadly this thought has lead me to keep repeating the lyrics to 'Dick in A Box' in my head over and over until someone can tell me otherwise XD

I don't tell about those who are writing polite constructive critics - it is OKAY, but as you probably noticed too, there's plenty of people who are got here just to spill hate and roast figure which they even didn't bought, it looks like really crappy flashmob/meme.

I personally am very thick-skinned about "other opinions" and I won't like my Aoba less because all of the salt thrown here in comments, but some people are really getting upset to read nasty comments about something they love.
I just wanted to tell - it's okay if you are not liking something, but keep your "disliking opinion" polite for those who are satisfied with this figure, so, maybe, someone with lack of self-confidence won't think they have bad taste or made bad choice because of they love something so aggressively hated. It is not good just to come here and toss a comment like "ew he is sh!t" (not a quote but there's enough comments similar to this one lol). It is not constructive, it is just a sheer negativity which is just ruins mood.

takenyaka (1 hour ago) #17657765View spoilerHide spoilerI know you are asking not me, but people are having different standards about quality. I have not so high standards and I'm really starting to think it is actually good - I can just enjoy this figure instead on whining and ranting how HORRIBLE he is because of goddamn hair tips. This figure won't be exposed in 15 cm from my face, it will stay on shelf, I won't even notice any "hair tips" details from distance XD
There's so many salt and negativity in comments, I'm a bit shocked, come on, he is not THIS bad to call him Griffoned and stuff -__-"" It starting to look like people are just jumping on "let's roast him!" train and give zero ducks they are, probably, ruining mood for people who like this figure and waiting for its arrival.
P.S. I remember when Max Factory Benten was released, a lot of "experts" hurr durr ranted how his color palette is all washed out, and shoes chains are lack luster, and paint job could've been better and yada yada - I have him on my shelf and he is godlike beautiful, I still hold my breath and have warm feeling when I look at him. There's always some people who will be dissatisfied.
P.P.S. Not personally attacking anyone. Just really tired to see so much hate here

I like how you started off recognizing that "people have different standards", then proceed to basically invalidate their opinion and call them whiners.

Because yes, it's true people have different standards. And we're entitled to voice our objections when we sink a large amount of money investing into what is supposed to be a quality product from a quality producer. This is like me buying Alter's Eli (item #317826) then finding out she didn't come out at the same quality as the other Alter Love Live figures. I'd be fucking pissed, but other people may think it's fine as long she looks decent and got made at all.

And you might not look closely at your figures, but I do. Not all the time, obviously, but I appreciate good details in a figure so that even when I'm not at the distance where I can see potential flaws, I'm happy with the knowledge that it can stand up to my scrutiny even at close range. (You mentioned Benten, which I also have, and I can't tell you the amount of times I looked at him and wished he had less washed out colours, especially when I have white shelving and he blends right into them. He's my favourite figure in my collection, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed about this.)

And this is in general but there's nothing wrong with liking Aoba as he is. In fact I would encourage more people to say if they do, because it's true the comments are really negative. I may be on the side of the nay-sayers for this, but I've also been on the other side. Really, if you like this figure you shouldn't care what other people think... however this doesn't mean you can invalidate other people's negative opinions.

It's a two way street.
There's people who hate the figure, which is annoying, yes. In contrast, there are people who have actually constructive criticism and are viewed as being hateful. And some of those individuals even say they would still love and accept the figure in the end. Some people can't accept differences in opinion in the end.

Shipping notification came in early this morning! I wonder how quickly EMS takes to get to the US. I'm glad I don't have to wait around for too long~

???? Take my comment with a grain of salt. It was just a suggestion/opinion. Nothing more. I don't give a damn either way.

Dribz (1 hour ago) #17657549What exactly did they change that makes all this so deceptive? I'm not offended that you don't love the damn thing, I'm really just trying to understand what people are seeing that's caused such an uproar. I really don't see what the issues are here. Maybe the sculpt of the hair; I've seen a couple photos where it does look a bit sloppy. But it's not like they changed the pose or the colors of anything. So "deceptive" just isn't the right word to me. I just don't understand.

Dude, he already answered your question and it's pretty thorough. And youre taking the word 'deceptive' too far. That person said 'getting deceptive'. Meaning not fully believe to be. Chill.
Dbonn12 (2 hours ago) #17655623I'm going to find a circular mirror to put under him. I think it would help highlight the goods.
Honestly, with all the small changes, I don't blame people for being disappointed. The small changes on the face, the more rounded looking hair, the dick (while amazing, there's an oddness to it), and the plain base...

Dbonn12 (1 hour ago) #17657077That's why I stated "I understand that the prototype is not the mass produce version..."
I don't need you telling me what I've already said.
But there is a fine line between small changes and too many; which is subjective and is the reason why no one will agree if this figure really awesome or complete shit.
Not once have I ever expected the master copy at my front door.
I'm glad you don't think their deceptive. I felt things like this can be partially deceptive, but not entirely.
And lastly, your opinion is yours. Even if I said they are out right deceptive, that is my opinion. Not yours. This page is just so offended by people not LOVING this figure to the bare bones of what it is. It's very tiresome.

ronnibun41 (2 hours ago) #17656603If you want a cheap way to get a circular mirror base, just go buy a cheap personal mirror, that's what I'd do. But I'm glad for a clear base. Sometimes, simple is the best way to go; gives you more options/ideas of creating a setup for Aoba.

Dribz (2 hours ago) #17656751Companies always specify in the details of the figure's ordering page that "the actual product may differ from the images shown." No one should expect the prototype, or they're going to be disappointed every time. That detail might not be plastered everywhere, but I wouldn't say they're being deceptive.

Dbonn12 (2 hours ago) #17655623 I do understand the prototype is not the mass produce version, but at this point, I would like companies to advertise the factory sample vs the master copy because it's getting deceptive. There's only so many changes people can take.

Anyways, besides him being a little underwhelming for myself, I am still highly anticipating him at my door. He is unique nonetheless. I've always wanted a lewd male figure and glad to have him.
