BloodFlower (1 year ago) #5492398Gonna write it here as not everyone reads the alerts: Only Miku have been confirmed for a figure. The rest will most certainly be removed from the database and will not be allowed until a proper announcement for each character exists.
I think this should be put here as well, so when the other entries are deleted they won't keep being re-added like last time (the Fate/Saekano goods).

Just got mine yesterday, she looks absolutely fantastic though I do have a gripe with the umbrella. The top doesn't seem to be particularly well attached to the handle, at all. Tipping her a bit causes the thing to fall off immediately. Also, since she doesn't seem to have any particular way of holding the umbrella in place, it tends to slide all the way down and smack her in the head when handled in any way.

I managed to get it to behave itself somehow though, so it's not a massive deal, she's really super lovely. And she's smaller than I thought, takes up very little space, which I absolutely love. Can't wait for Luka and item #394712 to see them all together :3

Lulles (3 days ago) #18279087Disagreeing with you doesn't mean I, or anyone else, is blind to their figures' defects. This Miku is far from being my favorite figure in my collection, but I felt the need to come to her defense when I saw your comment. Thought my opinion as someone who's seen her in person would maybe be helpful to you. But, each to their own and I'm certainly not trying to convince you to buy her. Just thought analazing a figure like that (you honestly sounded like you were doing a review of her even) when you don't own it doesn't make sense.

I apologize for causing your misunderstanding. You should view my original comment as simply ranting.

Sythellri (3 days ago) #18276625Thanks for validating my opinion. I agree it's just my opinion and I'm not trying to impose it on anyone else. The thing is I feel that enough research is just as good as seeing the figure in person. Obviously it's not the same as owning it but with a good enough imagination, you can picture it.
I'm not saying that people are blind to the flaws either but rather quite a few refuse to acknowledge them. It's fine to love a figure even though there are flaws since nobody is perfect but not admitting that they exist is a problem I've seen in many collectors.
Then again everyone has their own opinion so maybe I'm just talking to myself.

Terrence (3 days ago) #18273742While it's fine to dislike her for the reasons you listed, I can't really follow the logic that you can describe her in detail and certainty when you don't own her. Figures are bound to look different in-person over pictures. Sure a collector may value their figure more by seeing it in person, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're blind to it's flaws when there is one. I love most of my figures, but I know that some have objective flaws like poor paintjob, or shaky bases, etc. I don't have an inherent subconscious reaction to always defend the figures I own, but I suppose some collectors do.
I will agree that she is simplistic in some areas, and your opinion is totally fine. I wouldn't go as far as to say she looks like absolute shit without decals, but eh, everyone's different~

Sythellri (3 days ago) #18272825Here's the thing, it's the fact that I DON'T own her which allows me to describe her in such detail and certainty. I don't have any biases or need to defend the figure. I've found it becomes an almost inherent subconscious reaction to defend figures that you own. I have seen the figure in person as it was on sale and I have seen many, many reviews. There are more than enough pictures to make concrete decisions anyways.
You even agree with me to a certain degree that she is simple without enough details in many areas.
In conclusion, the decals on this figure make it stand out but they alone are not enough to bring it to life. There's far too much missing.

Lulles (3 days ago) #18265997How can you say all that if you don't own the figure? lol She looks amazing in person. And I'm not sure what more folds you expected this to have, since kimono don't really have that many folds on its lower half. I agree it could have had a little bit more shading but I think the simplicity was on purpose. I mean, everyone has the right to have their own opinion, I just find it funny how you described her in so much detail and certainty, when you don't own her.
