Yakuri (4 months ago) #1863963Don't use EMS unless the shop doesn't give you a choice, or you live outside the US and know it's not safe in your country. I've chosen unregistered SAL for many years (outside and inside US) and I haven't gotten a box lost or damaged yet. In fact they're the best boxes, and if there's anything broken it was because the sender poorly packaged it. You'll save loads of money on shipping alone, that could be used for other things... like more figures :D
Thanks for the tips! I do live in the US and had great prior experience with reg/unreg SAL, the horror stories I've heard just made me extra paranoid, haha. Great to know all this from your experience, I'll definitely stick with it from now on. More figures are always a must!

Carmina (5 months ago) #1833064SAL is normally safe, in fact I don't think it has any more chance of getting damaged than EMS. With EMS you're really paying for speed and additional insurance. It's more a case of how well the person on the other end packs him.

nagito (5 months ago) #1833034This is probably sacrilege against Kaworu, I finally managed to snag him but I'm a bit tight on money so I was wondering if it would be okay to ship him via registered SAL..I'm asking since this is the first scale figure I've actually bought online, and seeing as he isn't attached directly to his base inside the box it might be okay? His packaging is kind of poor though, has anyone ended up with a broken one before from shipping?
The post that usually handles my SAL items are very kind to them (at least the boxes don't reflect any damage haha..) I'd prefer to keep it SAL but would airmail be better due to the holiday season?
Feel free to call me out if even thinking of sending him any other way than EMS is ludicrous too please, I'm just pretty clueless in general! I'd really appreciate input, sorry about all the silly questions.
