I got mine yesterday and yeah its "meh... okay" looks 100% different from their promo material. But my score for it would be 5/10

his face looks like crap, his eyes looked like he's crying with mascara on
can't even compared to a statue worth 30-40$ like FZO or prize figure
it's nothing like the picture
6/10

they really should let other comapnies do their figures lol

Hmmm, I can see why people are complaining about this. It's not awful, but I expected better from Square Enix. I give it a 6/10.

Well he's not a standout but okay. I placed him along with my other kingdom hearts figures and I looks okay.
By no means as bad as I expected after reading the comment section.

serendie (3 months ago) #19976353Lol okay... I don't think of this as like a life or death sort of thing. Which is nearly what a lot of commenters here are doing. If this was $140 with this quality that's one thing (and yes, there are issues with Square's more expensive figures as well). I'll be the first to say that Square should allow actual figure making companies to make their characters, but they don't, so we either purchase what they offer or just don't purchase from them. Seems like a simple choice, instead of complaining online nonstop. I'm not coming back to this comment thread though, so whatever. Have better things to do with my time than argue online.

I was supporting your statement by offering another reason why it's kinda meh rather than life or death, not arguing with you. I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Mizukithepanda (3 months ago) #19804942It's also just a Square Enix figure, which means that a mediocre to subpar face and paint application are almost guaranteed. Should a company produce higher quality goods for decent prices? Well sure, of course they should. Should people buy something from a company that is practically notorious for terrible QC and expect something amazing for a decent price? Well now that's just silly.

ChocolateSpider (3 months ago) #19851091This is actually my first Square Enix figure. I ordered this just to give them a try. A decision which I regret. #SadWallet #WhyDonaldNoHealMe

I figured that might be the case, considering how upset some people are over this, when it's just another instance in a long string of "meh" quality figures. It definitely sucks that this was your first experience. Their QC years and years and years ago was somewhat better and their prices were much lower, so if there were issues, people weren't as upset, because they'd only spent maybe $25-$30 on an action figure or $10-$15 on a 5 inch trading figure and weren't expecting perfection at that price point. A lot of their regular Play Arts line circa 2006-2009 is actually pretty nice, and would be a much better place to start than their newest figures.

Now, with all of that said, I personally don't think this figure looks THAT bad. Yeah, the face is a little wonky, but it's alright, and I must've lucked out in the paint app department, since mine has a nice, clean paint job. I don't feel like I wasted my money at all, but I also knew what I was getting into beforehand.
