Fred4rk (8 months ago) #2536895Everybody know that in book collecting 1st Edition would always fetch better price. There are some book that reprinted so many times that the 1st edition is very expensive.

True that. I'm sure collectors would all prefer "squaresoft" over "repainted edition". Just that the value has gone down quite a bit thanks to the excess supply out there, so its no longer worth the price I paid for. Although to be fair the book has been reprinted numerous times around and before year 2000, so the real first edition is rare indeed.

brucelee (1 year ago) #2111093But waiting 10 years just to save $100 and only so they would own the reprint version 10 years later. I'd think thats only a somewhat minority population. For hardcore fans, there are plenty of copies out there for a small premium, while people who are only carious found their free version somewhere online, for a book about a 15 year old game...I'm sure they have a more profitable alternative. Not to mention, in the process, it ruins the older versions' value.

Boy this a huge book. I got mine from Kinokuniya and it cost me just a bit over $70 with my membership card. It cost like US$40 to ship this thing from Japan.

I've always found that a ridiculous and selfish reason to not like re-releases.

Cyril (1 year ago) #2110739I honestly couldn't disagree more, I've been waiting for this particular reprint for 10 years.

brucelee (1 year ago) #2090383Why the reprint in this day and age? Don't they have better reprints to do?
