Morrigan22 (3 months ago) #21174652I'm really worried about this TOM ignoring the restriction thing.....I mean, it's not their decision to make, isn't it? Banpresto is the one setting these restrictions, if it were so easy to just ignore them every shop would have done the same, especially with a figure as popular as this.
And in case they really do ignore the restrictions, I think that might cause trouble for them with Banpresto, including cancelling the distribution contract...I don't know, perhaps i'm looking for trouble where there isn't any, but this sounds like a risky move for me.
I really hope I'm wrong >.< I want my Yuriooooo

To clarify a bit - the email I received from TOM said that Banpresto had requested that they limit the distribution area and they're doing that with the new orders. The email did not say that they were ignoring the restriction to do so, it just said that existing orders would not be affected. The implication I took from that was that Banpresto was allowing TOM to honour the orders they'd already received. Just my take on it - but I do believe Yurio not being limited was a genuine mistake on TOM's part rather than their ignoring Banpresto about it.

Suze (3 months ago) #21179117But why? Their prize figures were in many stores earlier. What's Banpresto's problem now?
And where to buy their figures now? I don't want pay extra just because of restrictions.

Iwish I knew! I have read somewhere that it might have something to do with not having enought figures on stock to provide for all the shops ( I find this explanation ridiculous. Why USA yes and Europe no?)

In my opinion It may have something to do with exclusive distribution agreements with european intermediaries, but I'm just guessing, it's the only explanation I can think of for such voluntary loss of clients.
And if this is the case, well, they're doing it wrong, because
A) a lot of these figures are pretty difficult to find, so these distributors aren't very good!
B) If we manage to find them, the prices are so, so high compared to the real prices that a lot of us just refuse to buy the figures.

I pre-ordered Victor on Ninoma, I hope they don't disappoint me >.< they are cheaper than TOM, but more expensive than Amiami. We'll see what happens.

Yamirose (3 months ago) #21165769I'm the friend mentioned - I just received confirmation from TOM that the shipping restriction only applies to NEW orders. Existing orders are fine and won't be cancelled. They'll be shipped out as usual.
Good news for anyone who's already ordered Yurio from them, but it means that we can't also order Viktor/Victor from them.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. At least our orders are safe, I was worried there for a bit haha.
I guess I'll have to try Ninoma for Victor, it sucks that they're making buying these so difficult for those outside of America.
