I'd like to get this one but I'm too wary of Griffon's quality troubles to go for it. So far I've only got Tenshi Hinanai, and while she's mostly nice she does have quite a few small defects including a scuff on her hair and paint splotches.

Also I really don't want to pay more than fifty bucks for one, especially now that I know how small these Touhou figures are. Tenshi's tiny compared to my other 1/8 scales!

Eh I won't sell mine. I just keep her in the back behind Rin and Okuu. At a casual look she's fine, only notice terrible paintjob on close inspection, which is impossible in my display case behind other figures. :D

I'm wondering that too. I wouldn't count on it though because I haven't seen any improved quality on the Touhou rereleases so far. In any case I still haven't sold my original Koishi, I've been waiting until I come home from college in the summer to sell my unwanted collectibles. Oh well, not all buyers on ebay are gonna know there's been a rerelease... :P

CongealReally saddened by this. I expected Griffon quality but this is really bad. With Koishi looking so bad I canceled my pre-order for Satori even tho she's my favorite girl ;_;As an update, I received her today. Aftering taking her out of the box (but not the clamshell) to inspect her, I kinda regret canceling Satori.

The painting in the skirt on mine looks pretty good, the only errors I noticed were in the back where there's a stray green streak and 1 or 2 other sloppy spots - the front appears clean. The flowers on her skirt are more vibrant in person than the pictures had lead me to believe. I didn't notice any stray black spots that seem to be Griffon's trademark.

Overall I'd say the quality is decent, but not great. Her face got a nice improvement from preview photos, the hair looks clean, and the cords turned out better than I had expected.

I'll hold onto her for a month or 2 and give it some thought. Unfortunately without Satori I don't really have an interest in Koishi, I'll probably end up selling her.

Well, I received Koishi today. *sigh* I decided to keep her for now but I have to say the quality is less than stellar. The skirt on mine looks pretty good: the stripes are sloppy like everyone else's, but it doesn't bother me unless I look close. The colors are rich and the flowers more visible than I assumed.

However, once I took her out of her box I noticed some other unpleasantries. The part of Koishi's blouse that's wrapped by her blue cord, around her middle, is... missing a little chunk. I can only describe it by saying there's a tiny, ragged 'dent' next to the cord. I also noticed a stray black spot on the ribbon of her hat, but I think every Griffon figure has one of those somewhere.

On the positive side, she's really cute. Griffon improved her face in the final product, it's less derpy. Koishi's pose with her cord wrapping around her make her very pleasant to look out. Her hair is also extremely well done, just as good as the prototype.

Overall I still like her. But I'm probably going to cut down on my Griffon purchases in favor of Kotobukiya Touhou figures. And if I ever prune my collection, this figure would be one of the ones to go.
