skytoast (3 months ago) #2547066A lot of people consider this figure their "HOLY GRAIL". Well, I no longer do. It's gone up in value... 1/6th scale of a clump of plastic... I'd have to quit this hobby for good because my sanity (insanity) has gotten the better of me.
I think quitting this hobby for you may be for the best if that's how you're going to be.

A Holy Grail should be a figure that means a lot, not one that costs a lot or isn't worth much. The price should be the last factor of a Holy Grail IMO. Owning an expensive figure like this just adds to the pride of the owner which, I don't blame them. She's utterly gorgeous.

Anyone still on board for asking for a re-release? Good Smile Company seems to be the one to go to as they have done a couple re-releases of Max Factory figures.

From reading posts dating a year back, there were people who put in requests. It may not mean a sure chance for it to happen, but if a lot of people band together it would help.

It's just crazy how much her price inflated. Mai, Chun-Li, and Cammy are nowhere near the value of the of Morrigan, yet they released 1-2 years before her. What made this item inflate to the average cost of a premium format/polystone figure? If I pay this much for a PVC figure, I may as well get a premium figure instead.

Rarity shouldn't be an issue, since Mai could be just as rare, but at more than half the price. The $600 price tag at Solaris Japan is just plain ridiculous, as well as the $400-500 tags at Mandarake, Ebay, and other sites.

Random info. Y!JP's past sales:

One sold 10/13 for 28.5k, with various damage
One sold 10/26 for 50k, brand new and unopened
One sold 11/02 for 30.5k, opened (no damage)
One sold 12/08 for 40k, opened blister unopened
One sold 12/12 for 40.5k, opened, from a store
One sold 12/31 for 35.5k, opened, damaged

There's also currently one on Mandarake for 45k used, but lacks info (and since it's Mandarake, probably overpriced). It seems that this figure's pegs can get stuck inside the figure's spine.

A lot of people consider this figure their "HOLY GRAIL". Well, I no longer do. It's gone up in value and the asking price is beyond reason which if I was to ever pay for, pay that amount of money for one figure, a figure that's a 1/6th scale of a clump of plastic (although a nice very curvaceous clump of PVC plastic)... it would be the last time I ever bought another clump of plastic again - reassuring me that I'd have to quit this hobby for good because my sanity (insanity) has gotten the better of me.
