kanakanakana (7 months ago) #18490648Uhhh, No. Five grand USD is far from being priceless.

Of course, but people will buy it.

And I was referencing Mastercard's slogan.

Demitria (7 months ago) #18511197I was thinking the same. I can't believe they really did it. It's insulting. It's like they are saying "Hey. mindless otaku. Look at this. We give you 2 rings and a figure for 500 usd. Isn't it wonderful?"
Even worse - they ask for 5.000 USD. :D

AdrienAgreste (7 months ago) #18514858i think the idea of marrying, literally marrying, your waifu is great but those over priced rings are something else lmaoI don't disagree with you there.

Stalgonoff (7 months ago) #18511496I don't find it shameful or disrespectful, although I do think it is silly. Only a few people would actually buy the gold version, if any, so it's mostly just amusing. However, I do recall someone marrying a cardboard cutout of his favourite anime character so someone out there may be tempted.
Don't like it? Don't buy it.
But maybe just maybe some whales will use this opportunity to keep the figure industry afloat ;)

jazzylin (7 months ago) #18508104I had that thought too, some poor bastard will buy this and take them to a jeweler to be resized and find they're plated or something.
I believe doing so could get GSC in some serious trouble for fraud. I'm sure there are laws everywhere regarding sale of gold items, you can't just advertise "35 grams of 18 karat gold" and then don't deliver with the excuse "it's just a collector's item".

That said, the whole idea made me laugh but, as silly as I can deem it, I wouldn't look down on anyone who should decide to buy her. Heck, over the years of collecting I have probably definitely spent more than that...

Maybe in 'Murica gold designer wedding rings come cheap, but I've seen less fancier wedding rings that cost more than this whole package displayed at my local jewelry shops. So from my perspective this is pretty cheap considering you get two rings and a figure. I think it's a cute idea. Let people enjoy things even if you're not into them yourself.

Kirito-dono (7 months ago) #18509599I totally agree with you, this is totally shameful! I love anime, mangas and collecting but this is preposterous. I love GSC and 80% of my collection came from them, but when I saw this act of nonsense I'll think in the future before buying from them.
How is it shameful? No one is under any obligation to buy this. Its bloody hilarious that they even thought of it in the first place.

Necroid_Neko (7 months ago) #18504961Imo the rings look really cheap and not worth the huge price tag. Is anyone actually planning to buy one of the ring versions?

Not in this life time! XD
