Custom Yuki Nagato figma. The spikes are thin dowels sharpened with a craft knife and painted with Tamiya gunmetal spray paint. The spikes were attached into holes drilled using the plastic insert from the figma box to hold the figure steady. Amazingly, even though the holes for the spikes go all the way through, none of the joints got damaged internally.

If you haven't seen the first Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya season, this is a reference to an episode where Nagato gets attacked with spikes.

akomeiYou know, you didn't have to completely drill holes into your Yuki to get this same effect. Instead, you could have stuck the nails one end on each side and then covered those areas with red paint.

I thought about that, but decided that the best way to get the spikes to line up correctly on both sides was the holes. It ended up working out pretty well.

Thanks for the compliment. I find it especially amusing since the subject matter of the photo isn't all that genial. :D
