I don't mind calling them "toys" (I even do that myself) but I hate when someone calls my prepainted scaled figs and nendos "dolls" u__u"

Ah yes. The bat bitch slap. Classic.
You know, I wanted to perform this hand gesture to my supervisor last week.
I showed him a pic of my collection (mfc link) . He looked at it and then tells me "so you collect Barbies". (;¬_¬)

prized possessions, hmmm I like that name.
For some reason, that makes me think of Gollum. :3

My parents called them "Dolls" or my "Babies". My sister called them my "Prized possessions".
Some of my friends called them "Toys", "Action Figures", etc, while fellow collectors simply refer to them as "Figures" or "Figurines".
By the way I collect Nendoroids. =P

Leave it to batman to lay it down that way. That's not a Bright Noa Slap but a Batman Slap.

This is almost as stupid as all that bitching about calling anime "cartoons". Some figures can, in a way, be toys and all of them are dolls.
True, but don't the majority of figures and dolls explicitly state that they're not intended to be "toys"? They're for display only, not to be played with, so it's not entirely inaccurate.
