How come? Are you intimidated by the number of chapters? I know I am. =v=
I’ve stayed away from my acetone bottle. It is currently in the garage. I’m guessing that it is extremely flammable. (and could possibly cause an explosion (?)) It sure smelled like it.
Me too. I haven’t bought it yet though.
Your story sounds really interesting. Woah, that’s admirable. Have you had anyone to give you feedback on it?
http://media.animevice.com/uploads/1/18405/651576-hataraku_maou_sama___09___large_31.jpg
(You’re going to have to post it eventually ~)
Let me know when it its up on your Deviantart account. (。◕‿‿◕。)/
Unfortunately, I don’t. I can’t wrap my head around the shapes. I tried making plushies one time and the pattern part had me stumped. xD It was pretty easy with the clay since I just cut off the excess and smoothed it out. –can’t do that with cloth.
Fimo was really hard to knead. I kept thinking, maybe it’ll get soft after a little while longer. I did that until my hand started hurting. It seems awesome for hair/clothes though.-sturdy
[It does seem high class]
Lol. Okay. I’ll be sure to do that. (Maybe red isn’t a popular color so you are getting older stock of it?)

Super sorry that I took so long to reply!! You even finished your next sculpture! Gil looks great btw. Where did the blog go though?
It seems that the fimo doesn't work that well for you though ^^; I really hope you get better and better with your sculpting. It really makes me happy seeing people do hings that they enjoy!
I'm not necessarily intimidated by the number of chapters, but more so by what I'll do when I hit a wall ^^'
Acetone is really flammable! Please keep heat away from it >.<
Thanks :) if you want to know more, please ask. You can help with feedback or something XD But I have friends and my sister who are willing to help, and proofread.
Sure, I'll try to remember to tell you when I start putting it up ^^
It definitely makes things simpler if you can just cut off and add :) but I cosplay, so knowing patterns is basically a necessity X) If you need help with patterns though, you can always ask me.
Is it classic? Usually classic takes a long time to knead, or you may just not be used to it yet ^^' I'd definitely recommend soft, as it is the easiest to knead.
The red? It's actually quite popular, since a lot of people here likes using bright colours, and it always has the fewest in the racks. It might just be my bad luck with red stuff though >.<
The following is a rant of red
View spoilerHide spoilerI wrote a poem about it once, but I can't find it now
My pencils break or they look pink or orange.
The paint is always think and unpleasant and does not like to mix properly and dries fast and molds easily.
My oil pastels look bronish and the chalk pastels are too hard or crumble too easily
Clay dries out or is super difficult to knead
pens stop working after one or two uses
and I can't remember any more

Dark pinks are just fine though
That’s okay.
Thanks. I took it down because I grew to dislike his face. He suffered the same fate as Simon, a chopped off head. I didn’t make a new one though. I just tweaked it a bit and will be putting it back on. I also raised his pants. I wanted to reply to your message when he was all done, but it is taking me way too long to finish him. I haven’t had the time or energy since college classes/work started. ):

It worked great for hair and clothes! I really like it after it is softened up.
Thank you! I do have a lot of fun with it.

Do you mean writer’s block?
Okay. I’ll be sure to do that.

I’d be happy to give you feedback, should you ever want an additional opinion.
Cool!

It must be nice to have the ability to make your own costumes. Cosplay costumes can get quite expensive if commissioned, and the ones that are mass produced aren’t good quality.
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind.

No, I’m pretty sure I purchased Fimo soft. My hands are just spoiled from the soft sculpey. xD

Oh man… the woes of an unlucky artist. That was pretty good, but it was a bit depressing, haha. :)
I could imagine you on the stage of those poet places (forgot what they are called) reading it.

..~and people snapping. X]

You should stick to those colors then. ^_^

Sorry for replying so late again ^^;
D. Gray-Man? Awesome! I want to finish reading but I’m scared to catch up >_>
Yep, acetone can be one nasty bugger if you’re not careful, since I’m studying chemistry I know quite a bit about it.
Since I haven’t worked with tamiya, I hope it works really well XD
>.> that’s the issue, since her name is Moon and the person next to her is Earth. But they’re mixed genders and some hate each other, and other stuff. But at least it’s not ‘Magical girl’ and instead fantasy/supernatural.
I haven’t put anything up yet, but when I do, it will be on my deviantart page. But that’ll only start to happen when I’m satisfied with how I want to tell the story. I’ve actually written the first chapter over about 3 times ^^;
Cool. Making patterns and clothes is fun if you know how. But I’m sure it can be difficult doing so with the clay.
Awesome I hope you like working with it. Only cheap polymer clay brands soften without baking over time though. Fimo is almost as high class as you can get with polymer clays XD
Try to avoid red colours though, although it might be my bad luck with anything with red pigments, it takes forever to knead soft enough to do anything with.

How come? Are you intimidated by the number of chapters? I know I am. =v=

View spoilerHide spoilerMew-Lidia9 (1 year ago) #12761214Ashura is pretty :D I really liked the series ^^
Acetone can work for the fingerprints as well, or so I've heard >-> I'll have to try them both sometime.
Having the different coulours really helps avoiding painting XD
About the fortseal brand, it's a locally made brand here, so I'm not too sure how easy it will be to find, it's actually a bit harder to find hare as well.
Thanks <3 haha, one of the reasons I'm so slow with the story is because I'm afraid it'll be associated with Sailor Moon, I had barely heard of SM when I wrote it though >_>
The guy (Earth) is a mix of most of those things basically, it's more understandable if you know the story. Hahaha I suck at shoes so that makes me happy.
Your blog yesterday got me inspired and working on her again, the technique seems to need some practice though, but so far it's looking pretty viable for the clothes XD
Good job on Simon, I'll comment on the blog as well ^_^
Please, that would be very helpful. I can believe that part about the fimo, as depending on how you bake it, it can be a bit flexible afterwards. But be careful about waiting for it to cool down completely, otherwise it can break into crumbs.

Then I’ll have to check it out for sure. After I finish reading D. Gray Man and Fate. ^^
I think I bought a bottle of acetone…I checked and I bought Turpentine for that purpose. Oops. The smell was really~ strong. I had to take it out of my room and never bothered to try it again. I’ll try acetone after I’m out of rubbing alcohol.

Yeah, that’s true. I bet it’s fun to mix them. OwO
You were right. I can’t find that brand here. I’ll try the Tamiya one.

People have come to recognize a moon on the forehead as an important component of Sailor Moon’s design. Since SM is a classic and, I believe, the start the magical girl genre, a lot of people may make comparisons, unfortunately. I think that as long as your character doesn’t have a group of friends that represent the planets and talking cats, you’re good to go.
^^

Do you have you story up on a webcomic site?

That’s great! I felt like a fashion designer with that technique. I did my best to cut out shapes like these out of my clay to wrap around the figure.

If only I had a better understanding of clothing patterns. xD

Fimo sounds really promising! I ordered some Fimo soft and can’t wait to try it. Ok, I’ll be sure to work with it before it hardens all the way. :)

Mew-Lidia9 (1 year ago) #12481772Thanks :)
Me too, one day I'd like to sculpt Ashura from RG Veda ^^
They're both more or less the same to work with, but you leave fingerprints more easily in the fimo, and since you have to bake it, there is the possibility of discoloration, as I'll talk more about when I finally write up the blog and it takes a while to knead the clay, which is extremely difficult for some colors (ie red). Unless it's super complicated or difficult to paint, I'll use the fortseal epoxy. It's easy to mix and you can work with it for a long while, even when it's almost dry and it dries as hard as rock.Honestly, the Fortseal brand is really not well known, so I doubt that I'll find anything like people using it on youtube ^^;
Here is a pic of her, the white haired girl, her name is Moon and she's from a story I'm busy writing: [ext link ]
Sorry, I don't yet have proper references of all the characters.
I resculpted some limbs and figured out how to make flexible non fabric clothes for her, so hopefully soon I'll get to working with her again ^^
He clearly won, didn't he?
The tools can come in handy a lot, I only have the one silicone tool that I've started to use in my last blog, so I should get some more tools as well >-<
And sorry for replying so late >_<

I haven’t read that series. It is Clamp, so I’ll probably like it. I’ll check it out soon. ^^ Ashura is beautiful. *o*

Oh ok. I heard that brushing clay with rubbing alcohol will get rid of fingerprints. You can’t overdo it though, because it will dry it out.
So you are using multiple colors of Fimo? Cool.
I might try Fortseal, if I can find it.

She’s pretty! I like her design. She looks like she could be related to prince Diamond from Sailor Moon. ^^
http://users.wfu.edu/gonzall/Sailor%20Moon/Prince_Diamond-480.jpg
Who’s the guy? Is he the love interest, a friend, or family? (I like his shoes)

I hope that you’ll share your technique for the flexible non fabric clothes on your blog. :) I’m happy that you’ve been making progress.

Yeah. He’s almost done. Delicate pieces kept breaking off, so I had to go in with apoxie to fix it. I found a useful blog for different clay brands.(I’ll provide a link later. I don’t remember it) that says super sculpey is not the best for delicate/thin parts. Fimo is recommended instead.

The silicone tools are a good investment. I use them the most.
