- 16%Terrible Customer Service
6 months ago (Updated 2 months ago) - magumfire23They automatically combined my two orders, which I purposely left separate for cheaper shipping, without even first sending me an invoice before doing so. Also since I (stupidly) believed they were a decent company, used the paypal billing agreement and thus got charged an extra 2500 yen on shipping since it combined them. Along with that since I have already paid for it they said they can not provide any assistance. How stupid is that? Can't provide help because you have already paid?
Honestly just a complete garbage company. If you want to buy from them expect ZERO help.
- 93%My Go-To Provider
3 months ago - Belle_ReveI've been using HLJ for over a decade. Usually I try to order/pre-order from them when I'm looking for something, but they have a tendency to not get a lot of stock, so they sell out pretty quickly. But I only go elsewhere when I can't get it here. Shipping is relatively decent considering what overseas shipping is nowadays, and they always properly pack their items so they won't arrive damaged. Their customer service is incredibly quick to respond to you when you're inquiring about an order.

3 months ago (Updated 3 months ago) - R_KasaharaBeen shopping at HLJ for over ten years. Their customer service is better than most (just contact them in a timely manner), and their Private Warehouse shipping system is unbeatable. Their regular prices are decent, but sales can be hit or miss. They ship in heavy-duty cardboard boxes with shrinkwrap and air cushions, which get the job done.
My main issue with HLJ is that they are known to cancel preordered items, often popular ones, without warning because they can't get enough in stock. Though this has happened to me only rarely, it's worth keeping in mind before preordering a hot item.
- 94%Very good shop
5 months ago - LyI use HLJ very often. All items arrived well packed and fast (no matter which shipping method I chose).
Also I love their private warehouse system where you can easily store available paid items for up to 60 days to ship them later with other items. It's easy to use.
Sometimes they fail managing their stock probably, so you can (pre-)order items which are already sold out. You won't be charged, but you also don't get a message about it.
6 months ago - AnneMarieHRoAfter buying with them quite a few times (mostly stationery), I can say that they give a very good service overall. Products are original and prices are fair compared to other sites. Only problem I have had with them is buying gashapon, cuz since they don't actually pick your stuff, you get randoms and sometimes not a complete set, but I learned that HLJ is not the place to buy those. Their private wharehouse is a great option too!
- 84%Good Service but Expensive
7 months ago - TsukitamashiI'm from BC, Canada. I've ordered a few illustration books and some figures from them. Good customer service, packing (possibly the best), speed, item conditions in my experience.
However, they charge a premium price for everything. Namely, they rarely have promotions and always charge the market price (more expensive than every other website). Their shipping fees are quite limited & high as well. They also charge me quite a bit for the customs. Therefore, they are possibly the most expensive but reliable option out there.
- 87%Great experience so far
8 months ago - CycloneI started using HLJ earlier this year and so far a positive experience from them. It's one of my go-to-places next to AmiAmi and Mandarake.
They have a good selection of of figures, Gunpla, Kamen Rider items, and other merch. I like the way they ship the items; very organized and makes use of the space. My big reasons for using HLJ is the fact you can cancel preorders anytime before it's in stock and the private warehouse option for holding items for up to 60 days is huge plus for me.

1 year ago (Updated 11 months ago) - yolsyncOnly once I did a pre-order with them and not me want to do it again because they didn't respect this pre-order, they had out of stock. Never in life.
- 0%Now I remember why they are a last resort
1 year ago (Updated 1 year ago) - Fury06When the larger retailers are out of stock I order here through my brother's account. Mostly bad experiences.
They have cancelled my pre-orders making combining orders and the private warehouse useless.
The shipping used to be competitive because they use unreliable air packets(they pop often) instead of paper, but now the shipping prices have increased and they still use air packets (I'm not talking about the June EMS change).
Recently they overcharged me over 50% on my shipping. So they basically pocketed the difference since it is clearly marked on the EMS label.

1 year ago - ElkhornBought Gundam and Anime figures from the HLJ during one of its sales this 2016. Received it on time. Nice figures and gotten cheap.
Packaging is nice. However, just wondering why the Gundam boxes were not wrapped in plastic compared to anime figures?
