September HaulSeptember Haul

For the longest time, I have only been collecting manga and anime. However, I started collecting figures when I saw Attack on Titan. It is not my favorite series but I just fell in love with Levi’s character. When I accidently saw Sentinel’s Levi figure on sale, I had to get him.

After receiving him and being pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it, I started buying more figures. At first, I started out slowly by buying one or two figures at a time. Next thing I knew, I have already purchased seven items in a span of two weeks! Luckily, I discovered this website and learned that it is better to combine individual orders into a single, monthly order.

My first monthly order from AmiAmi arrived yesterday, and here it is:

Here are the figures out of the mailing box:

Here's a closer look:

As you could see, I bought two figures from Kotobukiya’s ARTFX J line (Eren Yeager and Hajime Hinata), four from Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid series (Aoba & Ren, Levi, Gilgamesh [pre-owned], and Araragi Koyomi), and the second set from One Coin Mini Figure Collection series for Kuroko no Basuke.

Here are the individual figures out of their packaging:

There were moments of frustration, however. I have never seen or owned a nendoroid before. I bought some because they are cute and other users seemed to enjoy them. When I tried to put them together, though, the small parts were a pain to deal with. This was especially true with the Levi nendoroid. (Damn those swords that kept falling off!) In the end, my love for his character got me through all those pain and frustration. I must say, it was a lot of work but was definitely worth it.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience opening them. I can't wait for my October haul!

DelicateThunder (4 years ago) #2385532Nice loot, and enjoyed looking at your Manga collection in the background. ^_^ Thank you! I really enjoy collecting manga. One of the reason it took me awhile to start with collecting figures is the cost. The price of one decent scale figure would be enough to buy multiple mangas. That's why I have always resisted buying figures. But now that I started it, I can't seem to stop!
I'm crying for my wallet!

I know exactly what you mean! My October order is going to be twice as much (and three times more expensive) than my September.

Nendoroids.
Yeah, while they can be a lot of fun (especially swapping the face plates out), those little parts can be a real pain. While I have nendoroids, I'll concede that they aren't my favorite type of articulated figures. Figma parts are less unruly, and don't tend to fall off as much. Love that Aoba nendoroid, of all of them, that one and the Colossal Titan nendoroid are my favorites.

Welcome to the "I'll just order one more....." figure collectors club XD

Hope you're enjoying your new figures! I started collecting in January this year and I'm completely hooked now. I started with a few Figma's, then moved up to scale figures (1/8 and 1/7), although I have since picked up the 1/6 scale ITEM #153069 and have just pre-ordered the second of this new Tony Taka series, ITEM #235633. I also have a 1/4 scale figure ITEM #198441 on order too :-P A couple of Nendoroids and a selection of pre-owned figures complete my collection.

I now have a monthly order set up with AmiAmi every month currently until May next year, and I am eagerly awaiting the dispatch of my September haul, which happens to be my largest haul to date :)

Awesome first loot from amiami! You got all the nendos i was thinking of getting if i wasn't worried about money x-x i only got aoba this month. The attack on titan nendos are indeed much more annoying to deal with in comparison to a lot of other nendos but don't let that stop you from getting the others! It all works out after some practice and patience

Knight-Hart (4 years ago) #2382288What's Hajime like?Karuu (4 years ago) #2382300Ah I got Hinata today! He's really well made isn't he? I was impressed because he's nearly identical to the prototype

I really like how Hajime turned out. I agree that he looks pretty close to the advertised photo. The figure seems well made. The base is the best; I like the color and the design. My only qualm with it is his pose. I feel like there's something slightly off to it but oh well. As I said, though, I was pleasantly surprised with him. I am looking forward to having Hajime and Nagito side-by-side!

All male Nendos, my kind of loot ♥

I like how you have some of your manga facing outwards on your shelves. I never thought of doing that before, but it's a great idea! I'll have to steal it sometime~
