Shuraki - Nida Schuetlich (Good Smile Company) Shunya Yamashita

MaakieMaakie3 years agoReview
! There is a wall of text in the beginning! If you want to see the figure + pictures and not the background information, you can scroll down a bit. ;) !

! This is a review of a cast off figure who will be showed in her underwear too! There is no full nude, but this can already be considered NSFW !

Welcome to my review! Today I will be talking about a figure of Nida Schuetlich ENCYCLOPEDIA #2139 from Shuraki ENCYCLOPEDIA #295 ! This figure ITEM #157 is made by Good Smile Company ENCYCLOPEDIA #7620 . This review is from an bit of an older figure (6 years), so the scores are taking that into consideration!

I will start off with telling some more about her background.

Background

Nida Schuetlich is from the multimedia project Shuraki. Shuraki is an collaboration between Good Smile Company and Red entertainment and consists of sets with: a figure, a booklet and a drama CD. Each figure was modelled after an illustration and multiple famous artists have worked on this project.

Nida was originally illustrated by well known artist Shunya Yamashita ENCYCLOPEDIA #8364 . She is a 19-year old princess from Germany and belongs to a mysterious organisation called the "White Raven". She is pretty closed when it comes to personality and is very strict for herself. From a young age she was part of the White Raven and because of that very loyal to every wish from higher-ups. As weapons she alternately uses a bayonet, a long-range rifle and a small knife. I also have to say here that all the previous information is a summary of things I found at multiple websites, my Japanese is not good enough to understand the drama CD.

The database page of this figure tells us that this figure was limited to 5000 pieces. On my figure and on the box I couldn't find any information about that, so the pieces are not numbered.

The reason why and how I got her

Because of me not understanding her original story (the drama CD), I was interested in this figure purely for her looks. I really love military themed figures and I love the type of figures that have a cute face and overall look, but are actually tough. I think Nida offers all of this! On top of that you can also add Shunya's nice style (I especially like the way he draws faces) and this was a figure that I couldn't pass up to!

Original art

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-5117W1tOuPI/VCR2YA9A-jI/AAAAAAAABxY/vbgYinUKV-g/s800/art.jpg

The following artwork the figure was directly modelled after. Most of the details are spot-on, with the only small differences being her skin color and her having bit wider body-type in the artwork.

The Box

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-o3s_-RLAgc4/VCQqdoX3YHI/AAAAAAAABnM/Iti6fqyW_To/s720/IMG_1999.JPG

Nida comes in a big box! On the front we can take a look at the figure very well.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-zuKOIyG0_hA/VCQr4vM7ilI/AAAAAAAABw4/J486LVLmhsY/s720/IMG_2000.JPG

The right side shows the Drama CD the figure comes with.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2BiNdujj-cQ/VCQqcQnJrSI/AAAAAAAABnA/TEYmO9FWiUg/s720/IMG_2001.JPG

The backside has pictures of the multiple display options and the figure in general.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TZRXCNgejgA/VCQqeJ4TjzI/AAAAAAAABnQ/QMLZnhigQwE/s720/IMG_2002.JPG

The left side shows the booklet called the "Shuraki Secret File".

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_HcKjZe5EQ4/VCQqfcIxz_I/AAAAAAAABnY/Z47qVOpBMLE/s1024/IMG_2003.JPG

The box also tells you which parts this set comes with.

In general, the box is huge, but this figure comes with so many parts it couldn't have been done otherwise! I personally like the use of colors in the box design and the big windows.

Extra #1: Drama CD "Shuraki"

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-9pU-X-cf-us/VCQqgm69_GI/AAAAAAAABng/LQTS9lXAL5Y/s800/IMG_2004.JPG

The Drama CD is in a simple, transparant case. There is no front- or back cover.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DIg7vQoLim4/VCQqhkCnsYI/AAAAAAAABns/Y1vFeEX1VHo/s640/IMG_2005.JPG

On the CD itself we see a high quality print, which looks good even from up-close!

About the CD itself, I decided to keep mine sealed, because I don't plan on listening to it. I tried to find the audio for this CD online, but I couldn't find it (probably because of copyright). I did find the general theme-song for the series if someone is interested in that: View spoilerHide spoiler

It probably cost them quite some money to have JAM Project do the song?! o.O It's quite catchy, although I think that it sounds maybe a bit too much alike the SoulTaker opening (made by the same performers).

Extra #2: Artbook "Shuraki Secret File"

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-NauW0gizyyM/VCQqiSuOZ_I/AAAAAAAABnw/WsokUCaeRsE/s720/IMG_2006.JPG

And here we have the artbook! The cover shows a part of the original artwork for Nida.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Gf_mIUxEoNc/VCQqjRz8nfI/AAAAAAAABn4/KHdxBZFHYYM/s800/IMG_2007.JPG

Next is this beautiful drawing of a study room (probably used by Nida). I couldn't find information about this artwork, but I think it was also drawn by Shunya Yamashita?

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nN7r11eufrE/VCQqkYyNSFI/AAAAAAAABoA/78v2nEk8w0Q/s912/IMG_2008.JPG

The next pages show the cast of Shuraki and...wait...there are 7? But from only 5 figures were made! Does that mean that the other 2 were never planned? Or was there a shortage of money or bad sales from the other ones in the set? I went on a small search, but couldn't find anything about this. What I did find out about was that some light novels were made, which included also these other characters.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Ty4Va8TH3KI/VCQqlRhihAI/AAAAAAAABoI/egD1UyALWXw/s800/IMG_2009.JPG

On these pages are the characters which I think are all designed for the drama CD included with this figure. It probably tells some information about their backgrounds.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9meDBut8Br8/VCQqmZJTGOI/AAAAAAAABoQ/_OFUpD7UtuA/s800/IMG_2010.JPG

Here we have the big piece of artwork from Nida again. This time in more close-up so a lot more details are visible!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zsqyaXEnl80/VCQqnXaOQPI/AAAAAAAABoY/d8rK0KwjzDo/s800/IMG_2011.JPG

These next 2 pages I like a lot! I really like seeing multiple expressions from Nida. I personally think a lot of Shunya's characters have the same type of facial expressions, so I especially liked seeing Nida's different emotions. I think the 4th one, were she is shocked, looks the cutest!

We can also see Nida's bodytype in quite a lot of angles here. Shunya uses his own rules for proportions, that's for sure! On the right page there is the "battle damage" version which the figure can also have. The clothes are on the figure ripped in a likewise way, but the biggest difference is that the figure doesn't come with an alternate body for the wounds and damaged stockings. I also didn't expect her to come with it, this figure has already a lot of parts considering her price!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tVxcuRINM7E/VCQqoTpQl7I/AAAAAAAABog/exrMLmyjaXo/s800/IMG_2012.JPG

I really like the clothing and pose of Nida on the left page, it gives off this retro pin-up vibe! The right page are I think the contents of the drama CD.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-sSIloHKHOrc/VCQqpSTrySI/AAAAAAAABoo/0bCzvbdX0A4/s800/IMG_2013.JPG

The following artwork is I think of a part of the story in the drama CD. The most special of this to me is the boy on the top right. I think I never saw a drawing of a boy in Shunya's style before! So now I know he can also draw cute boys! Come on, Shunya! I'm sure you would get even more fans if you would draw males too sometimes!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-orLlIL7mlLw/VCQqqSTmGVI/AAAAAAAABow/M1-4Qg3FWZ8/s800/IMG_2014.JPG

Next is a cute drawing of Nida in the library. I'm not sure what place the other girl has in the story, but her modern clothes look quite out of place in this specific drawing.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_w7DlqMgxTE/VCQqrVcloGI/AAAAAAAABo4/Sapxg-T4jsA/s720/IMG_2015.JPG

Here we see Nida battling another Shuraki character, called Mishiro Akatsuki ENCYCLOPEDIA #2887 . Her figure was recently reviewd by fellow reviewer victorviper here: blog/13810

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-nIhvZoPRmYs/VCQqsS2ujMI/AAAAAAAABpE/l03GDn9H8oE/s800/IMG_2016.JPG

On the next pages there is an interview and pictures with the voice cast of the drama CD. I like how one of the voice actors (Nida's voice herself, probably?) is holding the figure!

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CY-4wLmuKLc/VCQqtfkVgZI/AAAAAAAABpI/mIPaySq7kBc/s800/IMG_2017.JPG

These are probably some credits-lists.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-GyIomm-f8us/VCQquPBIo3I/AAAAAAAABpQ/cKCUSTLZhuA/s720/IMG_2018.JPG

And with that, we reach the end of the booklet! It was a nice bonus, with some interesting artwork in there! It really made me think about how much work went into this project!

First Look

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DlKUHdo28iM/VCQqwPhqiGI/AAAAAAAABpg/U8FzU4gBWPY/s720/IMG_2020.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KMjMQxLLse8/VCQqw6A_lTI/AAAAAAAABpo/yls1lW2S9fQ/s720/IMG_2021.JPG

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-xFhwPtpbZww/VCQqxwHcIoI/AAAAAAAABpw/dsojrvhtl6E/s720/IMG_2022.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KLtZVIooKng/VCQqy1O-O7I/AAAAAAAABp8/Z6CJJJfxHus/s720/IMG_2023.JPG

Nida is in a huge pack of blisters, but that's because of her high amount of optional parts! The extra's were held by the sides of the blisters and only stay in place when put in the outer box.

The Figure

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-HR7FBeR5vDE/VCQqvNeP9XI/AAAAAAAABpY/ujp6FMHEtCY/s720/IMG_2019.JPG

As with a lot of bigger figures, Nida comes with an instruction sheet. Because of the huge amount of parts this figure comes with, it's very useful to have this sheet at hand when swapping parts! Most of the swapping needed quite some force applied to the parts, so I was happy to have this sheet and know that I was doing the right things!

In this review I will show all the different display options you have!

Look #1: In underwear with knife

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-o93oM_HrpRk/VCQsXfmOxQI/AAAAAAAABxA/nfBFrgJk5HI/s720/IMG_2037.JPG

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1A_MN6_jwXk/VCQq8mCKE9I/AAAAAAAABro/zvcjittp3cY/s720/IMG_2038.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ZEDX_YQ96xY/VCQq9ts3cII/AAAAAAAABrw/0wNmbrbyXGY/s720/IMG_2039.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Jl7rPbTsn5M/VCQq-iTXgGI/AAAAAAAABr4/9SY90HDlLBg/s720/IMG_2040.JPG

First impression: She is already looking this good while just being in her underwear with a simple knife!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pwcnWE2ZUPs/VCQrAOvwHuI/AAAAAAAABsA/YZa6RMrF4g4/s912/IMG_2041.JPG

Nida wears small, purple panties with black lace. I quite like the detailing on the lace, although I think it's a bit of a weird design if you look at it as underwear. With the panty itself being so small and tight fitting and then for it to have such a huge lace detailing around it, making it in the end looking like regular sized underwear. Anyway, the painting on the panty is quite nice, especially if you look at her small ribbon.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-TAlgDCQdvFY/VCQrChUuGFI/AAAAAAAABsQ/RTrsuV8TESw/s912/IMG_2043.JPG

*ding ding* We have another "too small for my butt"-type underwear! I should actually keep a counter of how many of my figures have underwear like this! Anyway, you can see a bit of Nida's behind, which seems a bit flat considering how wide her hips are? However the wrinkle details in her panties are very nice here!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-fGwllGGb4vg/VCQrDRcYvRI/AAAAAAAABsY/qFwajX_gFso/s720/IMG_2044.JPG

Her bra has been sculpted quite nicely, but not all the sculpted out parts have been painted. What I do admire here though are the details on her back, such as her shoulderblades.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1MDKHsNkyp0/VCQrE-Rt7cI/AAAAAAAABsg/5UwLAC6_U_M/s912/IMG_2045.JPG

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-uTSsUSl2efM/VCQrGC9vQ_I/AAAAAAAABso/6hgJ5EfZ8MA/s912/IMG_2046.JPG

The front of the bra has the same type of lace detailing and ribbons as her panties and are all looking good! Something I'm a bit less fan off though, are how her nipples are sculpted. I can understand it if you're cold and if the bra is from thin fabric, but this is extreme.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-2T8UqIjUvys/VCQrG-boxNI/AAAAAAAABsw/tUNZgsfr_3E/s720/IMG_2047.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-S-DozrxuUSE/VCQrH5aiM_I/AAAAAAAABs4/1WGfjRAyoik/s720/IMG_2048.JPG

Nida's midriff is quite amazing. I love how they made the small detail of her collarbones and her bellybutton has quite some shading. You do see here that the proportions are a bit off, but this is also due to Shunya Yamashita's drawing style and I personally don't mind.

Look #2: Ripped clothing and with long-range rifle

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-BfVVx7ZzTk0/VCQq1oI2-PI/AAAAAAAABqk/5FbYLM8tzWE/s720/IMG_2028.JPG

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-OAvc3Qq05to/VCQq1zRB6ZI/AAAAAAAABqs/lx98C4JLUlQ/s720/IMG_2029.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wayU9VP3SVw/VCQq2nlPezI/AAAAAAAABq0/ns0yPiO3GmY/s720/IMG_2030.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xX-HQe-oBCI/VCQq3N32mZI/AAAAAAAABq4/b04D3lmKPeQ/s720/IMG_2031.JPG

My first impression of this look was that she was looking a bit too calm considering the state she and her clothes are in. I also think the tearing looks a bit weird/forced here and there, especially because it shows so much of her underwear. In the original design Shunya Yamashita made for her damaged version View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zsqyaXEnl80/VCQqnXaOQPI/AAAAAAAABoY/d8rK0KwjzDo/s800/IMG_2011.JPG the rips and damages are very different and don't show any parts of her bra or panties.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-doM09xhJ5lI/VCQq4oI1YII/AAAAAAAABrI/_gPvZT-H7MA/s912/IMG_2033.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-lJsf2jPebys/VCQq38pO2bI/AAAAAAAABrE/fNj7LKtcEgE/s912/IMG_2032.JPG

From up close we can take a better look at the damaged clothes. The rips vary in quality a lot, but I like how they thought of some smaller details, such as some dents in her belt buckle. Overall the paint here is pretty nice, except for some small missed spots aournd her belt.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7IlaTDEJIT4/VCQq5YpZWyI/AAAAAAAABrQ/a6c_zXSjLTA/s912/IMG_2034.JPG

Interesting about her damaged jacket is that one full sleeve is missing. You can also see some layers, such as parts of her (also damaged) shirt coming out of it.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-nQbsf05W0UE/VCQq6cFPL2I/AAAAAAAABrY/KA9qqz5matE/s912/IMG_2035.JPG

This picture brings up one small problem I have with displaying Nida in the damaged outfit...I can't get her jacket closed!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-lq0hu2Bv3S0/VCQq7BnFADI/AAAAAAAABrg/yZfyp3n6nvw/s912/IMG_2036.JPG

Her jacket has these small clasps with pegs that you regularly see on cast-off figures, but it's just too tight fitting! I guess this opened damaged jacket gives you another display option, but it looks a bit weird with her tie being stuck on the right half.

Look #3: Fully clothed and with bayonet

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9dFYbgZGK5k/VCQqzWlzLCI/AAAAAAAABqE/gFZ0a4VOnT8/s720/IMG_2024.JPG

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9MMdo_DvEs8/VCQqz8v1ouI/AAAAAAAABqM/E6cKOT_yRY4/s720/IMG_2025.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G3NN2oAxWzY/VCQq0efZrwI/AAAAAAAABqU/AepdcmZhmvk/s720/IMG_2026.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BthV2NZ6aiM/VCQq0xvznZI/AAAAAAAABqc/fUm-02t8MlE/s720/IMG_2027.JPG

My first impression of this look: Wow, she looks amazing with all her parts on and the big weapon! This is my favorite way to display her for sure! Now, let's take a look from a bit more up close.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-T_-XLI8XlLM/VCQrItR8h0I/AAAAAAAABtA/pz19jTZ2jqU/s720/IMG_2049.JPG

Starting with her face: Nida is so pretty! Nicely put on decals, some light shine on her lips and a bit of a blush on her cheeks!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5INcRWjAnQ0/VCQrJnG3CzI/AAAAAAAABtI/AgHD4mJmFNA/s720/IMG_2050.JPG

Her bangs are looking quite good too. The tips are a bit thick at some parts, but I think the placing of her bangs look really good in combination with her face!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-31VbP-sqaMc/VCQrLawU_hI/AAAAAAAABtY/riqC-RvDAWI/s720/IMG_2053.JPG

Nida's hair has a gradient color going from pink at the top to purple at the bottom. On the figure it looks a bit more extreme than on the artwork (where it's rather going from light purple to darker purple), but I think it's good looking in both ways!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-dBMfcJAJfVA/VCQrKneNoKI/AAAAAAAABtQ/v1C5W6G2vlg/s720/IMG_2051.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PKn39oocvso/VCQrMe7dovI/AAAAAAAABtg/v08p0qgJKVA/s720/IMG_2054.JPG

The seamline on top of her head goes all the way up to both ears. My guess is that they tried to hide the seamline a bit more by placing those bigger locks of hair behind it, but to me it stands more out this way.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SQjeYmpF3AI/VCQrNtKMcSI/AAAAAAAABto/xFKHkizfUE8/s912/IMG_2055.JPG

On the top of her head the seamline is a lot better hidden than on the sides!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xZcgtc3B4QY/VCQrOaGvQ5I/AAAAAAAABtw/iUs5ao3jpRw/s720/IMG_2056.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-E-wMk5qGX8Y/VCXLFgF6V3I/AAAAAAAAByc/CGTWWEn8UCQ/s912/IMG_2057.JPG

Nida wears a hat that completely fits with the style of her uniform. The sculpting on it is very good, but the paint is at some parts not that well applied. A small warning about her hat: it's a piece that isn't hold on to her hat with any system (no magnets, pegs etc.) so it always "balances" on top of her head. View spoilerHide spoilerAs you can probably imagine, during the making of these pictures, it fell off quite some times!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-HLLfoGEkYNc/VCXMpJkrE9I/AAAAAAAABy8/PTH9aqLqQl4/s720/IMG_2060.JPG

Her jacket is very nicely sculpted. There are some small painting flaws and a small blotch of paint at the right of the lower button at my copy, but there aren't any big problems going on. I really like how they made the breast pockets on the jacket, the way the buttons are keeping it closed looks very realistic! View spoilerHide spoilerI'm probably also giving more attention to details like that, now that I have recently made my own military jacket: View spoilerHide spoilerwww.cosplay.com...

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2_B0falIsXs/VCQrUVREEbI/AAAAAAAABuY/-O0OK5xq12o/s912/IMG_2062.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8bm8BNUIQj0/VCQrVJxKXPI/AAAAAAAABug/_fcZF_nUqmA/s720/IMG_2063.JPG

Unfortunately Nida faces a problem a lot of cast-off figures have...and that is that her clothes won't fully close. No matter how much force I used on them, this is the furthest I could push them in. Luckily this isn't very noticeable when the figure is displayed from the front. Especially because with my copy the left side of the jacket closes better than the right side.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-kQBumCpRQ2o/VCQrWo8y3_I/AAAAAAAABuo/aTxQDe6KMfY/s912/IMG_2064.JPG

Nida's hand is a bit...chunky. There is also a big seamline showing. Luckily the focus points are on a lot of other parts of this figure, because that would probably also make you forgive...

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-rBnTR9hsqxQ/VCQrXxUR6vI/AAAAAAAABuw/SoKqnCRIXT0/s720/IMG_2066.JPG

...the weird neck she has going on! I have quite a lot of older figures that have this technique used, but I personally really dislike it. It looks like the seperate face was just glued onto the neck. It may be a bit hard to see on the picture, but the skin color of the face and the neck is quite different too!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-pYwTzYSYjJA/VCQrZMj8FCI/AAAAAAAABu4/BHZmbJejQGQ/s912/IMG_2067.JPG

Moving on, we get to Nida's belly again. I really like how the skirt fits around her waist so well!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q6jpxZs_ZXA/VCQraqt2bbI/AAAAAAAABvA/E7O7Lw98ZCI/s912/IMG_2068.JPG

The skirt has some rushed paint going on at the red detailed parts, but the paint at the belt and on the skirt itself are very nicely done!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zpguzNJzqD0/VCQrcFtkCwI/AAAAAAAABvI/uhMkctVbLkA/s912/IMG_2069.JPG

The back of her skirt shows quite some wrinkles and also shading was applied on some spots, which looks to me like they are trying to accentuate her behind more.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-D92EWScM8Ig/VCQrdUZPVzI/AAAAAAAABvQ/Bhm_FxVHD-s/s912/IMG_2070.JPG

Because of her skirt being so short, you easily get a panty shot from her! So keep that in mind if you plan on displaying her above eye level, as that would mean you will always see her panties!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-qcPtoi8nSwg/VCQrepq56-I/AAAAAAAABvY/V_NuBrbUFYA/s912/IMG_2071.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-rx-zGSc904w/VCQrfxYmfJI/AAAAAAAABvg/eSZA0A61T5s/s912/IMG_2072.JPG

Of the panties themselves there is not much to see this way. To admire all the details, you really have to take the skirt off!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-8LnsKFuqDsQ/VCQrgwiUwXI/AAAAAAAABvo/onj-7HUz88w/s720/IMG_2073.JPG

On her belt, Nida has a holster for her knife. You can remove and insert the knife in there. It is very tight-fitting though, as I have already damaged a bit of the silver paint by inserting and removing it 2 times. So I would advice to remove it as less as possible or maybe keep it empty if you want to preserve the knife for displaying in her hand later. The holster itself is simple when it comes to details, but the gold buttons are a nice touch.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-SqJulTaF6fE/VCQrjgT1FAI/AAAAAAAABwA/GUQy7vzTzF0/s720/IMG_2076.JPG

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5VESH7EPegA/VCQrkowMOWI/AAAAAAAABwI/q2_27eL0-GM/s720/IMG_2077.JPG

Nida's boots have been painted with black paint that has a bit more of a rough texture. I think it looks very good and leather-like! The boots themslves too have some nice detailing going on when it comes to seams in the shoes and wrinkles!

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qwkB53e4f-4/VCQrlwYpaEI/AAAAAAAABwQ/BONRFeIHd6g/s912/IMG_2078.JPG

Her base is a piece of broken concrete and rubble. It instantly reminded me of my Yu-Gi-Oh! figures of which I also reviewed a few here recently. The detailing on the base is quite nice and some shading has been used.

Her weapon

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bk0tzS9iSmY/VCQrpmzwR0I/AAAAAAAABwg/Mac7oaTfx_8/s912/IMG_2080.JPG

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-dmr6b8xcicc/VCQrrDQFZFI/AAAAAAAABwo/Vmol1OJXnEc/s912/IMG_2081.JPG

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-GG5IoGTeBlU/VCQrsieWGLI/AAAAAAAABww/uUAD-8F4Glo/s912/IMG_2082.JPG

The gun has only one color and no shading at all (the shine you see is caused by sunlight). Luckily there is lots of detailing when it comes to sculpt, which makes up for that. If this was a more recent figure I would have expected the shading, but from a figure that is over 6 years old, I can't complain here.

!!!

With this figure, you can mix and match with all the parts. So that gives a lot of options! If you like her without a ripped jacket, but with the complete miniskirt and the knife, it's up to you!

Something also interesting to mention before I move to the summary of this review, is that although this figure was boxed with her clothes on for many years (I bought an unopened box), she didn't get any paint transfers on her skin from the clothing! So this is a good sign for people that plan on buying this figure either pre-owned or unopened!

Summary or tl;dr

Positive
- Very nice extra's: the drama CD and the artbook!
- Lots of parts and display options!
- She has such a beautiful face! Very true to Shunya Yamashita's style!
- She looks great considering this figure's age! Especially on the sculpting details!
- She goes for quite cheap if you manage to find her!

Neutral
- She has a very big box which makes her shipping very high, but because of her huge amounts of parts this almost couldn't have been done otherwise.

Negative
- A few very small painting flaws.
- I couldn't close her damaged jacket.
- A few chunky/rushed parts (her hands, het neck).

The Scores

Sculpting 9/10
I think the sculpting is amazing considering her price and release date! She's not completely perfect, but there are lots of good things about her and she has many display options that have been sculpted also nicely!

Painting 8/10
A few small flaws here and there, but overall done very well.

Posing 8/10
Quite simple posing, but she looks very strong and you can get a good look at all her details!

Base 8/10
Nice detailing in the base and it fits the figure well!

Packaging 8/10
The box gives you a good look at the figure and all the extra's she comes with. The box is big, but considering the amount of parts she has, this couldn't have been done otherwise!

Extra's 9/10
Because I can't understand Japanese, it is a bit hard for me to score the Drama CD. Still, I think it's a great extra considering they gave these professionally recorded Drama CD's together with this figure! The artbook this figure also comes with is a really nice extra with lots of not-seen-before (and probably also especially made for this figure) artwork from Shunya Yamashita!!

Enjoyment 10/10
I was already looking forward to this figure and considering the low price I paid for her and keeping her age in mind, she turned out to be better than I expected! I'm very pleased with owning her and she won't leave my collection for sure!

Conclusion

If you are a fan of military (uniforms) in combination with good looking girls and/or a fan of Shunya Yamashita's artwork, this figure is a must-get! If you like the Shuraki figures in general I think there's not even one miss in this set with what I have seen from the figures, because all of them seem to go for low prices and have incredible details! Really, the only reason why I wouldn't recommend this figure is if you're not into her looks...!

Availability

She's not the easiest to get, but pops up every now and then on pre-owned websites. She is seen the most on Mandarake for prices ranging from 2-4K yen. If I remember correctly I payed 2.5K yen for an unopened one with "damaged" box (I wonder if anyone can even find a damage looking at my pictures). I choose unregistered SAL shipping which turned out to be around 2K yen too, so I ended up paying just 4.5K yen for this figure in total. She is easier to get if you buy her from collectors, because I have always seen her up for sale here on MFC with at least 3 active ads at every time, but these prices are a lot higher than waiting for a good deal on a site such as Mandarake. Still I think, considering her good amount of details and her extra's, she is worth to pay even higher amounts for!

And to finish it!

Currently I have my figures in storage, but here is how I used to display her in my collection!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9svJj-JUzKw/VCf5pj1IHlI/AAAAAAAABzY/uMEacILCiEw/s912/IMG_2085.JPG

I displayed her on my "girls with big weapons"-shelf! For my next place for her in my collection I'm thinking of placing her more together with military-themed figures.

For those who read all this way, thank you! My next review will be about this Fate Testarossa ITEM #42209 !

Maakie (3 years ago) #2451229Well, that's good to finally have a Revoltech where you are happy with! My own favorite is ITEM #11353 , because in general it's hard to find good merchandise from this character!
The other version from this one is a lot more expensive than the one I owned. But still mine is also on websites for second hand ones going for around 60-80$! I managed to sell mine for 50 euros and am very happy with that as that is around the same price I paid for her originally!

Yeah but, it still didn't make me want to get my own Revoltech figure since, I'm very2 disappointed on Revolmini Solid Snake. Ah, yes! You once told me about that Revoltech. :P

Wow... That's good for you, I also just sold Revolmini Snake a slight larger price than the one I paid originally.

VioFitz (3 years ago) #2447960Yeah... Pretty happy to review it, big bro seems to be happy as well when playing it.
I think she should sells pretty quick since she's kinda hard to find now but, I don't know which versions of Yoko since there's 2 versions of Fraulein Revoltech Yoko Ritona. I heard that the other one was limited & incredibly expensive by now.

Maakie (3 years ago) #2436387Oh. :O That's quite a surprise indeed! I guess it's a bit of a hit and mess?
As a coincidence, just yesterday I sold my ITEM #2936 of which I have been thinking for a while if I should sell her or not.

VioFitz (3 years ago) #2431971Now, this is very unexpected for me, I had played around with my big bro's Legacy of Revoltech Helldiver & it turned out very easy to handle, I had alot of fun actually...

Maakie (3 years ago) #2420799Oh well, it's a matter of opinion of course! ;) Since it's Shunya's style!
Well, it's a good thing for the people wanting to have bikini/lingerie figures! But personally I really dislike how her nipples shine through her bra, so I wouldn't display her like that.
Haha, that sounds like a wise choice! I also stopped buying Revoltechs, but sometimes I get tempted if they are from characters that don't have any other (action) figures!

VioFitz (3 years ago) #2416572Oh, okay then... Guess I was being too perfectionist here, because in all figures all I'm concern is the head part since I really like that part.
I see... Yeah, that's what I mean, it's kinda funny to see her outfit but, turned out to be like a lingerie model when undressed.
Aw shucks... No, I'm not going to get another Revoltech here, I'm through with them now.

Maakie (3 years ago) #2414577Ah yes, I know what you mean. That "missing part of eyeball paint" can be seen on multiple figures in Shunya's style (examples: PICTURE #93763 and PICTURE #48113 ) and I guess it's something that's a bit characteristic of his style (and also the reason I didn't think about mentioning it during the review).
Yeah same here! She looks like a lingerie model, while she's a 19-year old fighter girl! But also here, Shunya is pretty much known for always having very detailed underwear on his characters. There are actually quite some designs and figures from him with characters wearing only underwear.
Ah, unfortunately for that, this character was especially designed for the Shuraki-figure line, so I don't think we can ever get anything else from Nida. There are some Shunya designs though, that got revoltechs, such as ITEM #1566 , but I'm not a fan of Revoltech's myself. I saw that figure for quite cheap (10-20 euros) on a few conventions, though!

VioFitz (3 years ago) #2414521Impressive review for an impressive figure!! However, I do have to agree that paintjob did not pleased me but, the one that bugged me was her white eyeballs looks slightly still unpainted. But, this is still a nice figure, I like everything from her designs although her underwear seems to be doesn't fit enough to her job because, the underwear somehow looks too much showing her as a night girl instead of military girl. I thought her underwear would be plain gray or white.
Well, if she's available on figma, I might getting 1 of these.
