Infinite Stratos Versus Colors - VideoInfinite Stratos Versus Colors - Video

naisornaisor4 years agoNews
Hello again everyone.

Recently, an event at Tora no Ana Akihabara store was held where they showed for the first time a demo of Infinite Stratos Versus Colors, a game developed by circle YNP Project.

YNP is a group participating at events such as comiket developing doujinshi games and, in this case, right now they're about to deliver IS fan a very long awaited game to enjoy where we can take control of the main characters of the series in one-on-one battles with attacks similar as we have seen in the Anime series.

The game will be pusblished by Mages and 5pb for the PC, and pre-orders are open at several Japanese stores and Mandarake has it for International customers for 3,500yen + shipping.

This is the very first demo movie to pop out, by YNP Project, to show the game in action. I personally like what I see and I'm looking forward for this game.

FinalCataclsym (4 years ago) #2537960I know that feeling of just having a game based on a series you really like. All the better when you can play the characters/unit/group that you always wanted to try out. Battle of Aces, Gear of Destiny and Girls und Panzer's Senshado, Kiwamemasu! are, objectively speaking, not AAA games. They are by no means stellar, ground breaking or genre defying. But to fans of the series like myself, they are simply amazing because they let you live out the moments either from the show or those dream matches you always wanted to try but the series never explored. THAT is what sets games like this or Versus Colors and the rest apart.
Thanks for the comment, those are my feelings exactly. : )

After receiving the game in January I'll try to install it in the computers I have (JP and ENG Windows 7) to see if my systems can still run it. If not, I'll see what I can do. It's the disadvantage of PC gaming for me anyway. -___-

In the meanwhile, I'll keep feeding information as it comes out after the release to don't let this game go all obscure, and maybe it can get the attention of more fans that might encourage an international digital release. Many things can be done by spreading the word; that's what I'm trying to do.

naisor (4 years ago) #2537935I have Japanese Windows 7, but my PC is from 2010, so very probably I'll need to update. I have had PC's from the USA and you can put Japanese games. I'm not sure about Windows 8, but in past versions you just need to change some settings in order to install them.
That said, this is not a high budget AAA game intended to blow the minds of the gaming community; this is a fan game made out of pure love for the series and hopes from those fans that would like to enjoy a little experience controlling the characters in IS unit battles with their favorite character from the five heroines.
Very little information has been disclosed regarding if there'd be a story mode. So far, only six character confirmed (main cast), so if there's any story mode it would mostly likely be bare-bones simple. No double team battle so far as seen, one-on-one combat only. The game itself is single player, but they're preparing online matches (Japan Only, of course) to play with another person.
It might be very simplistic and maybe nothing new is thrown here that hasn't been done before, except for one thing; it's an Infinite Stratos Game actually. No more "you can always play Gundam/Armor Core/insert-mecha-game-here and just imagine it's IS", this is a game where you don't have to pretend it is similar to what a game of the series you like would look like cause there's nothing else like it.
At the end, as for me personally, I feel it is very much more rewarding to have this than any game from a mega-AAA-block-buster-super-franchise, because it is a game I have been "fighting" for to be made (in discussions, in surveys,...). And, when no Konami, or Square Enix, or big Game Company wanted to give it a chance (heck, even when the gaming community itself didn't wanted to give it a chance with all its indifference), a freaking doujinshi circle had the balls to try and come up with this.
I certainly admire that kind of people, and I'll support them as much as I can. Maybe by doing so in the future they might be able to expand this even more, add more IS units and characters, build more play modes. The thing is that everything has to start at some point and here it is. : )

Now, if this happened to lead to an officially licensed game of a similar style with updated assets or expanded play fields and modes, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare system or anything with JP Windows on it. If it does wind up being able to install on a US operating system, give me a heads up and I'll see what I can do about getting my own copy. Until then, I'll have to see if they release something like Versus Colors on a Sony system so I don't have to worry about region issues.

FinalCataclsym (4 years ago) #2537910I am quite curious if this can run on US or International PCs. This reminds me a bit of the Nanoha PSP games but with more free range of movement. It is certainly interesting, but I wonder what else they plan to do with the game. Will there be story mode? Will there be doubles battles or boss fights? What about VS mode? I see a lot of potential with the IS series but as so far, this is the closest to potential gaming combat most similar to what we've been shown. And no, I'm not counting all the cameos for that Heroine game as you aren't the pilot yourself.
