Considering a lot of people make blogs when they're an certain amount of years on MFC and I never done one of these things, I decided to make one for this very special anniversary of 5 years an active member! Another warning: this will be a wall of text and diary-type entry!
So, how did this all start for me? I had been figure collecting for way more than 5 years, I found out about Myfigurecollection when their name was still Tsuki-board. I don't know the exact amount of years ago, but I had been using this site for quite some time, especially for reference for the items I bought at conventions and online. I had been doubting for a long time to make an account, but I didn't see much added value in "just" having a profile to show off my collection.
I had also been reading figure reviews that got uploaded on this site and enjoyed them a lot. I decided I wanted to try reviewing figures too and that was the reason I ended up making a profile over here. And just a few weeks after my account was made, I finished and uploaded my first review. Unfortunately I don't have acces to the hosted pictures anymore, but you guys are not missing much as everything was blurry pictures and messy backgrounds. A typical beginner-review blog. xD About half a year later, after I've got the hang of reviewing more, I bought a better camera and (in my opinion) my reviews improved. I made my own format to make my reviews in and also got more comfortable in writing in English (as this is my second language).
Later I also got interested in more aspects of MFC. Having a profile and overview of what you own was super useful (especially if you collect a lot of trading figures like me, so you can keep all the duplicates and stuff you're still looking for listed) and my reviews and responding on other blogs let me meet a lot new people. A lot of them I would also talk later with on our profiles or through PM. In the last +/- 2 years I also got a lot more interested in helping out the database and adding things myself.
So, what's up in the future for me over here? I really want to pick up figure reviewing again and I am working on a better set-up for photography. Unfortunately my current job doesn't give me a lot of free time. I hope I can get more active in reviewing and really want to improve my photography (as that's an hobby I almost dropped). Next to that, hummm, I'm not sure. Just continue what I have been doing? I like it a lot this way. :)
Up to another 5 years with hopefully even more improvement! ^^

Maakie • 5 years ago • #7507788Can't you make your number of favorites unlimited if you become a supporter? (not 100% sure about that)Can't read about that anywhere.
Maakie • 5 years ago • #7507788Speaking of loot, did you already get your own Moetan books? :)Still need 3rd English book... (btw. I think I got a newer edition of the first: ISBN 9784915540974 instead of 9784915540707)
Also congrats on your 5 years! ^w^ How did you start out here? :)
I think I heard of the website through a friend who had an account here. I'm not even sure why I made it, actually. xD
Haha, thanks! Going to save the link. xD
Heh. On the top row of buttons, click Databases, then from the dropdown, click Search. On the Search page, go to the bottom, and click the + button (next to the Search button) to expose the additional search fields. One of them is "Added by"; put in your own username, click Search, and there you go.
Actually I'm looking now for it again and I can't find it anymore? Seriously, some things are a bit too hidden over here. xD I can only see seperately the goods, media and figures I have added...
I still find a lot of features on MFC...just a few days ago I found out I could see a list of everything I've added to the database, haha!
I didn't know that feature existed. I found it (after your comment let me know it was there)... I've been busier adding things than I thought.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh, I have no clue if there is an alternative for that on a tablet... It's 06/23/2009, 04:30:01 for you!

Hopefully, you'll start doing more figure reviews again. You have good taste in figures :).

Why, thank you! I'm really motivated, but first have to finish my moving before I have time for the set-up. And then comes the case of how much hours they need me at work... >.< Urgh!

Aha! That's the problem ... I on an iPad lol!
You can hover with your mouse on it to see! ;D
