S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Decade (2016)...

Salutations everyone, it's time for a new review!

This time we'll be journeying through the many different worlds of Kamen Rider in hopes of preventing the descruction of them all! Join me, won't you? As I take a look at the 10th Rider of the Heisei Era, the Destroyer of Worlds...

Shinkocchou Seihou Version

The latest release in the Shinkocchou line, Decade arrives in the typical style within a slide-open box for holding the figure and all of its accessories, the front and back featuring detailed photos and information.

Like previous SSH figures, Decade is fully plastic and comes packed to the brim with detail and joints, the solid molding and bright paint do an excellent job of bringing this passing through Rider to life.

All of these things are combined in a graceful balance to once again show off the complex design and workmanship that goes into the Shinkocchou Seihou line.

As far as accessories go, Decade sports a solid amount. Starting with the hands, he comes with five pairs; two fists, two splayed open hands, a pair of hands with square holes specifically for holding his Ride Booker weapons, another pair of normal gripping hands, and lastly a pair of card holding/pointing hands.

Next up, Decade's primary weapon, the Ride Booker is included in three different modes, Deck, Sword, and Gun, with the Deck version having an opening faceplate.

Each mode has a peg molded into the back, so any of the three can be placed on Decade's belt as you please.

A pair of interchangable underplaters for the Decadriver are also included, one for its default position, the other for when the driver is opened.

Switching the plates is a simple task, just unplug the driver face itself, remove the plate, and replace it with the other, the driver face then plugs in facing upwards and is ready to accept Rider Cards.

Speaking of, also included is a sheet of Rider Cards, each of which can easily be removed from the laminated sheet they rest in and can be returned to it when not in use. The individual cards are recreated in great detail, and take note, they are tiny and thin, so take care when handling them to avoid loosing any.

Finally, an alternate head of Decade's Violent Emotion form is included, to recreate his more sinister appearances as the Destroyer of Worlds with sharper, more evil looking lenses and a violet Signal Pointer topping the helmet instead of yellow.

This new version of Decade once again shows how far along Figuarts has come since 2009, with more well-defined proportions, multi-colored joints, and sharper detailing, it's without a doubt a superb recreation.

If I had any issues with him, the first would probably be the new joint system for in the hips, much like the ones used for SHF Bruce Lee, they're a brand new system with a pin joint set into the joint at the hip, it doesn't allow for much room with outward motion of the leg, resulting in a slight amount of restriction, not that it's that terrible of a limitation.

Secondly, it would be his height, though there isn't an actual scale to Figuarts, the fact that Tsukasa seems to tower over other figures, including some of those in the same line as him is a bit of an issue, one that Kabuto and Hibiki seem to suffer from the most.

All in all, Decade is another excellent representation of the Shinkocchou line, and really shows off the abilities of Bandai's design and construction, reaffirming the idea that this is indeed akin to the Transformers Masterpiece line of S.H. Figuarts.

If you haven't already picked him up, I'd definitely say that Decade is a worthwhile addition to any Rider or figure collection, he comes with a good amount of accessories for the pricetag, and really sets the bar of quality high for the Shinkocchou line.

Of course if you're not much of a fan of Decade, I certainly wouldn't blame you for passing on him to procure another Rider that may be more to your liking.
