Our honeymoon in japan (+ some of the loot)Our honeymoon in japan (+ some of the loot)

So as some may know we got married in november.
My husband works for the navy and had to go short after our marriage so we couldnt go on a honeymoon. Thus the reason we went in june :)
(Earlier was no option either)
All nsfw loot is inside spoilers.
Do note this is a summary we made way too many pictures and memories and it is already cluttered

Also some loot pictures come later as we are currently moving out so all stuff was immediatly packed.. ^^" i did link some! At the right and made quick ipad pics
-----------------------------

Anyways onto the story.

We had a pre-set course so hotels were already picked for us and we also got a railpass included plus breakfast as well as 2 tours.
A meiko dinner tour and senso-ji temple/asakusa plus tokyo skytree :)

While many claim our trip wasnt long enough, we found it sufficient and were content. 8th of june until 20th.

First day we spend in the airplane so yeah 10 full days :)

First off, tokyo (3 days , last day also tokyo)

After arriving at narita and travelling to tokyo we went off finding our hotel, which took a while and we were there about 3 pm? Not sure. Dropped our bags/suitcases and went to akihabara which was pretty close (3 minutes by metro/underground subway) akihabara is heaven on earth for any otaku. Sadly was unable to find any louise loot as it was full of love live and idolm@ster mainly and other famous series..

At animate or another shop im not sure i bought some nice hentai manga plus.. Mao from gj-bu!! Kyaaa wanted her for a while as shes a lovely tsundere in my top 10. Only 3800 yen, such a steal. My husband bought some H manga as well.
Below are my 2 H mangas.

Made a stop at mandarake where i bought some tony taka doujins plus raita doujin (heavily censored sadly..)
and my husband bought his hentai manga there

We are a fan of gyaru girls so we had some H manga of those ^^ pretty hot.

We ended up in the maid cafe called maidreamin, those on a budget.. Stay away from maid cafes. Damn it was such a shock when we saw the bill.. But we liked the experience as we had goodies (clear file for me and bear ears for victor) as well as a live performance and photoshoot :) plus they kept coming to our table doing a performance and ofcourse the famous omelette :D which they made a kitty on :)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311277.jpeg

Next day..

Strolling around as we had the senso-ji and skytree tour at 1 and we just walked around exploring akihabara. We bought a lot of delicious snacks :) and weird drinks xD but no merch.

Then we went to the tour ;) first off was the big temple with a lot to see. Beautiful plus a lot of food stalls and merch. We only bought some fresh melonpan and dangos mmm! I drew a fortune and i got good fortune. Later on you will see i kept being lucky.. Really started to believe it :) Victor tho.. Also true ^^" he kept getting lost he drew: not yet but soon enough.. (During spring it said)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467314572.jpeg

Then we went to the skytree :) with an awesome view as we went to the top ^^ it also had a lot of nice shopping places and victor ended up buying a shin-chan tshirt (i wanted to buy it but he did i was pretty pissed at first but well..) plus chopsticks. I bought a nice plated skirt :) navyblue color ;) always wanted to wear that.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467315428.jpeg

But when we went to the skytree, we saw a parade! (First good luck?)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467314570.jpeg

We went to the station and took photos from the top at the opposite there was a garden terrace with excellent view, made a lot of pictures.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467316238.jpeg

akihabara again and stopped at amiami where we spotted some goods. at amiami i saw kongou and other figures i liked, like kokonoe from blazblue and taiga max factory plus haruhi and so much more. I ended up buying kongou and her box was gigantic, i underestimated it lol ^^" (sadly box got pretty badly damaged/dented after going back as it was just very big and I couldnt add any protection but kongou herself is fine just her box) and victor bought iona with an amiami exclusive mini wallscroll :) no regrets splurging here.

Just a silly pic of my husband in akihabara below XD

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311959.jpeg

Took another stroll (we consider it romantic plus we get to see the daily life instead of hotspots only) and we ended up eating ramen :) cant be compared with instant ramen! Damn delicious :D we closed the day with that

Today we went to shibuya as I wanted to check the famous shibuya crossing and hachi(ko) statue :) I love that movie it's very touching so extra special to us.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311951.jpeg

We strolled through shibuya and ended up in yoyogi park :) or something xD

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467315430.jpeg

Until we reached meiji shrine where we bought our booklet for calligraphy :) the priest there puts a stamp plus calligraphy inside for 300 yen (every shrine same amount)
Here starts my good fortune.. We saw a shinto wedding! Which is pretty much a rare sight to see :)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311953.jpeg

Bought some nice souvenirs and continued walking towards harajuku :) was pretty expensive but vic bought some items like stickers and shirts. Closed it with a nice sushi restaurant our tour guide suggested to us, well it was definitly delicious! Mmmm!

Now we had a long travel to kanezawa.

We went for a long stroll to see the daily life again, we saw the entire north region of kanezawa.
(Actually Vic with his bad luck got lost when looking for the hotel but made the best out of it, no regrets was pretty fun in its own way tho at thay moment i was grumpy and my feet hurt)

We went to see the chaya districts with ochiyas, didnt spot a geisha or meiko, too early. Due to getting lost a lot was closed already so strolled again and found a nice shopping centre with yukatas and kimonos and saw many selfmade shrines along the way, fun to see. On top of the shopping centre there was a small shrine too :)
Spotted some birdnests too very cute. And a lot of pics of the station. Decided to wake up extra early the next day to make up for the time we lost.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467310597.jpeg

Today kanezawa castle :) including the original storage houses that were still standing (rest is rebuild, so not original but looks identical and same techniques were used) plus the castle garden as well as kenrokuen garden where we also had our lunch. Visited shrines again, by now we got 5 stamps/calligraphy. At the shrine here we bought a nice necklace, both of us. I got myself a green with creme coloured one and victor black with grey spots (most likely snowflake obsidian) im not sure what mine is tho i suspect it to be serpentine.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311955.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467310375.jpeg

We walked through the fish market and saw a lot of seafood obviously but also a sake shop where we bought a small bottle :) vic drank it, i took mine with me back home (victor bought a special shrine one later on)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467310379.jpeg

We wanted to spot fireflies but it was not do-able sadly.. My feet hurt way too much and it was too late to get a bus. We did went to the samurai dsitrict, pretty nice. Our hotel had a public bath, victor was too shy but I did go :) (it was not mixed, only girls/women and only boys/men section) we ate sushi again, delicious. Also funny note we bought sake kitkat, and yes it had actual 0,8% alcohol in it and tasted like sake XD hahaha

Onto kyoto! Pretty pissed again cause victor didnt want to take the bus.. Sure im stingy and usually I love it but we ended up walking 2 hrs straight. After a while I calmed down after my breakdown.. We finally found it, we were pretty near a taxi driver told us. Theyre very kind as he couldve just picked us up and charged us but instead told us it is just 1 street away. Japanese are very helpful really!
So we found the ryoukan and the manager is awesome, he wanted my whatsapp and kept spamming pictures xD haha it was pretty funny and he was so enthousiastic as he loved out country (many japanese seem to be a fan of the netherlands somehow.. Dont know why)
He almost pounched us xD he was that enthousiastic so took quite a while.. He gave us a tour and yeah.. Great experience this ryoukan :) and actually slept pretty well on the mat :) didnt expect that.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467316242.jpeg

We walked through the gion district and visited a shrine which had some events but no calligrap sadly... Also visited pontocho, a bar and nightlife street :) we ate at sato as the innkeeper recommended it. We ate meat in broth and lots of other interesting japanese local dishes :) it was an all you can eat but diffirent than ours.
Sadly feet issues started to pop up and it hurt so bad as it was swollen and more (no gore details)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467316240.jpeg

Another day in kyoto! So much to see, so little time. Another castle, called nijo-ji. A shrine and temple "tour"(i call it tour but we didnt pay for it, we just visited a lot) again, we love shinto shrines ! Walked through the food market and headed to downtown kyoto area as they called it. We bought a lot of merch here, like shirts and a dress , cute socks plus 2 postcards for my parents :) my feet hurt badly so I went to the drug store but a lady gave me the wrong item so i was stuck with expensive heat pads that didnt help my infected toes but enlightened my sore feet problems at least. After a long shopping spree time we had a meiko dinner (prepaid) :) she was a young meiko, only 16 years and just became one. Though it didnt last the 3 hrs they promised and no shamisen we still had no regrets. Traditional japanese dinner plus her dancing oh so elegant.. Afterwards she played games which meikos do. Funny thing is we recorded it and I won :D hehe.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311957.jpeg

We went to a 100 yen store afterwards and it was fun, we bought a lot of onigiri herbs which we love to make :) a great experience there was sooo much candy to buy.. I ended up buying kitkat raspberry, my new favorite :D as it was tasty :) (tho sake one was good too) i also found a gashapon machine and my good luck strikes again: i got erina right away (From shokugeki) so yet another precious tsundere i love as merch ^_^ and another good luck strike, we bought shin chan fake beer and got the two we wanted :D (but after leaving i forgot one :( but i gave it to the nice ryokan owner, repaying his gift which i mention later on)

First rainy day but luckily the only one :)
We went to the monkey park! It was soooo awesome and my fav thing i did during the trip :) for 100 yen you can feed them which we did, they come really close to you and we also saw a newborn baby being carried by her mother (good luck again??) and a little bit older baby monkey which could manage to walk on its own :) was a long walk though as it was high on a mountain with a lovely view :) (no pic of it due to the rain making it very dark and clouded)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311275.jpeg

We took another route with shrines (and some temples) and visited the bamboo route which is pretty famous :) loved it.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467310599.jpeg

After walking for so long and making detours we went to an onsen meant for feet :) ahh it felt so good and refreshing ^_^ great experience. Our meal this time were steamed buns and sweet potatoes (baked) plus some random stuff we bought in stores :)
We continued our walk as we found a nice street with a lot of merch and as I forgot my umbrella (and victor too) at a shrine (we plan to check it when we go again this year or next year if it is still there xD would be funny) we ended up buying umbrellas. I bought one folded to replace the one i lost and one big one :) victor bought a samurai sword umbrella (which gave us a lot of trouble with customs.. Sigh eventho we asked beforehand but it was ok in our country but not japan apparantly.. So we had to stuff it in my suitcase which wasnt big enough so it kind of bended :'( )
Anyways what is so special about these umbrellas is that when rain is pouring, sakura pattern appears on my umbrella and victors umbrella shows crests of the samurais :) pretty awesome ^_^
We wanted to go to the sake museum but no more time as everything closes early.. So we save that and the manga museum for our next trip.

We got a gift from the ryoukan owner :) 2 special limited shinkansen coins showing the older time shinkansen (50 years ago!) and recent shinkansens! So sweet of him. He was sooo happy haha he was overly excited so I gave the shin chan plastic glass to him. Last day so we had to say goodbye to him and go to hiroshima.

So next day.. Hiroshima. First another long travel time.

Anyways we visited the memorial park as well as the A-boom monument :) We found out too late that there was a yamato museum otherwise we wouldve visited that instead of what we did... but still was a sight to see.

After this we went on a nice touristic boattrip around hiroshima as victor insisted (he said it is our honeymoon we had to get this boat instead of the JR one for free :p) which led us to the famous island near hiroshima with a floating torii gate when the tide is high.
We just roamed around the island and made a lot of pictures. We saw a lot of deers which they consider sacred on this island and theyre wild and roam freely (they ate vics bag and a piece of paper when he didnt pay attention cause he was taking pictures so he didnt like the deer much )

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467310377.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311273.jpeg

Last stop is osaka before our last day which we will spend in tokyo again. I still dont get why they didnt go for osaka first then hiroshima (travel agency) as we took the same train partly, wouldve saved at least an hr x2. We had such a short time cause a kind lady held us up, sure it was nice and all but due to this we lost time. We were heading to the pokemon centre which she helped us finding.
We wrote something in her booklet and she took a picture of the 3 of us. We found a girl who wanted to trade pokemon so we were held up again but I said ok fine as victor really enjoyed it :) I regret not buying vulpix beany bag plush here tho for 800 yen plus tax :( *sulk* after this we went to the osaka aquarium which is pretty famous and was really a sight to see, while i did feel sorry for the animals, they had small "cages". I expected them to have bigger ones like in our zoo. Still so much to see here so we walked a lot of hrs in here and took some rests inbetween to watch the sea animals :)
I also spotted my favorite sea animal, I always thought it was called tiger shark (tijgerhaai in dutch) but here it was called a whaleshark :) I loved it!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311271.jpeg

Took another stroll to watch the daily life again ;) and ate at hard rock cafe osaka (this was veeeery expensive but victor insisted again, so those on a budget.. It was even more expensive than the maid cafe) we both bought a shirt there :) as a memory. It was a really great experience as we love hard rock cafes ^^ (we buy them whenever we find a cafe in a place we visit)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467311269.jpeg

So final day now.. Heading back to tokyo again but different hotel and damn this hotel was waaaaay better :) (shiba park hotel)
We had half a day left due to the long travel but still saw a lot. We went to the fishmarket and Shrine.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467315432.jpeg

We wanted to visit the gyaru cafe but it was another expensive thing so we passed and just walked around and visited akihabara again where i bought my final loot, doujinshis of louise :D plus one of kokonoe rin ^_^ I usually cant buy them cause of not having a creditcard so I was happy I could finally buy them

View spoilerHide spoiler http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467361855.jpeg

We also went to kotobukiya store where victor bought some ars nova goods like a yamato iona shirt. We decided to spend our last cash (coins) on some gashapon machines and victor had some pokemon 3ds pencils :) can only be used on the 3ds, he got 2 nice ones. I wish I couldve gone back to the shokugeki machine oh well ;) I ended up spending it on a kitty bell xD yes it is a strap with the shape of a kitten and a bell with tail. Sort of like a wind clock or however you call those?

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/Chloe-tsundere1467315426.jpeg

Hope you enjoyed reading our travel story :) it ended up being pretty long eventho I shortened it lol ^^"

We plan to go again this year or next year. Perhaps autumn or else cherry blossom season :) safest is this year cause this year victor certainly wont go anywhere by boat (navy) and next year is uncertain.

Maakie (2 years ago) #12931287Oh, did you buy a house already??? (You can also message me on Skype or PM if you rather not answer in public, that is also okay! I can be a bit slow with replying nowadays, though.)
It's really nice to have multiple occasions for vacations soon! :) For me nothing planned for a long time, buying and repairing the house + switching my job makes us so busy!
My husband wants our honeymoon to be on a tropical island! Which one we do not know yet. We will have to save up for it for multiple years, so that gives us enough time to think. xD

No, we are renting. We dont want the commitments that come with buying.
My husband has seen many tropical places already so yeah.. Plus jp is our passion.
Im busy too so havent been on skype for a long time sorry.

Sounds like you 2 are happy in your own way sp thats good :D

twistofate (2 years ago) #12290628Hi, would love to see the amiami pics. Wow 11k yen for maidcafe is expensive but it's an experience.

It indeed is but was for both of us so divide it into two.
Its 800 yen entry already x 2 .. We thought it was for one table but nope for each person.
It was an experience yes so no regrets :)

i get back to you about the amiami picture, it isnt resized yet (very annoying the size restrictions here..)

As someone who shares the pain of lacking a CC and knowing the pain that comes from it, I'm very happy that you manage to poor your wallet out to buy those small things which are otherwise so hard to obtain.
Good on you =3.
Out of curiosity, did that Omelet with rice taste good? It looks a bit ...unappetizing with all that brown sauce.
I think the Dutch are popular because of this, www.travelblog...., Huis Ten Bosch, a theme park based after a typical Dutch village and the long trade history we have with Japan. Might be fun to visit it on your next trip, to see if it is truly as authentic as it is advertised.

Lol looks like fun, might indeed try to visit it but theres so much i want to see and do so yeah.

It was really tasty and you could pick the sauce yourself so if you find this unappatizing they had other sauces or dishes ;) my husband had their bear burger

Yeah im pretty happy as well.. But you pay tax there so i wouldnt buy too much.. Unless you buy over 5k i think it was taxfree. Amiami was taxfree always :D

twistofate (2 years ago) #12288278Congrats! I really enjoyed the read, i went exactly a year ago and it brought back many memories. I went to the exact maid cafe but it wasn't expensive but i only ordered the dessert package. Was it hot over there? Amiami is new in Akihabara, i wish i was able to visit! Anyways, thanks for sharing and please share again in a year!

We had the full package, main course dessert goodies and show ;) i dunno how much dessert slone was but we were hungry so we were looking to eat somewhere and we paid 11k for the two of us incl entrance fee

Depends on your definition of hot but yeah id say it was but not 30+ like it is in july. Average id say 20-26 celsius :) no cold days

Oh i didnt know it was nee, we did made some pics of the amiami shop if you want to see :) this is a summary we made sooooo many pics
And i probably will :) if moving out is cheaper than edtimated we prob go in autumn as our anniversary in nov or cherry blossoms next spring so we have more time to save up (mainly me, my husband earns plenty.. )
