Non-removable fly on Box - Reason to complain?Non-removable fly on Box - Reason to complain?

l0lil0li2 years agoAsk MFC
Today I received my order from Nippon Yasan, and I noticed that on the Box of ITEM #324691 there is a dead fly. The problem is that it's between the print and the plastic coating, so it can not be removed. The store is not at fault, it's a problem of the manufacturer. It annoys me, but do you think I should complain and try to get a replacement or am I just being fussy?
Please see the pictures below (put in spoiler because of size).

When I saw "fly on box" I said "not a real fly, right? That's some second meaning I don't know well, right?"

It is kinda gross, I would try asking about it. Worst thing they can do is say nothing they can/will do.

You'll get nothing out of Nippon-Yasan just accept you've got a box with a dead fly on it. Cut with a knife the part of the box a white bit of ripped cardboard looks better then a dead fly or just leave it.

It's just the box, man. Just let it go. It's not like there's a dead fly stuck to the figure.

ZOMG ITS A RARE PRINT ERROR BOX, ONE OF A KIND, COLLECTORS ITEM-

Ahem - well, maybe not. But given some of the things certain Amiibos have been bidden up for, I wouldn't say never.

debinoresu (2 years ago) #12862022the point of the post is that it cant be scrubbed off because it is underneath the box's plastic. the op would have to cut it out.
OK, sorry I did overread that little fact... A laminated fly in this case... Hmm, a pretty rare case.. (no pun intended)

LeviathanX (2 years ago) #12858709I had a dead fly or a bug (at least an insect) INSIDE the box of my first ITEM #254347 . I just threw it away.
Well, you can use a sponge and scrub it off.

materix01 (2 years ago) #12847882Are you really serious in getting customer service to sort out a problem like a dead fly?
Could just deal with it like a normal reasonable person.

Believe it or not, the different between a pristine figure (and box) and one with even the slightest bump, stain, and the like can be a big deal for many people. If OP decided at some point to sell it, this would actually affect sales by either turning people off or forcing him/her to sell her for lower than normal.

I personally can deal with the shadow of a dead fly, but I understand where OP's coming from.

As far as solving the problem, I guess you could contact them anyway, it's not like they're going to send the frivolous request police at you or anything. Somewhat doubt they'd comply though, this is such a weird case XD

Coffee (2 years ago) #12843076Are you sure the "reseal" wasn't just a quality check done by the manufacturer?
Sometimes they open the figures if something is missing and put a new sticker over the old one before shipping it off to the stores.
I've noticed that people here doesn't seem to be aware that that's what manufacturers do sometimes.

There was no new sticker or sign - the box was just opened and then retaped. So I don't know. NY wanted to ask the manufacturer about that, but never send a message afterwards.

The figure was okay, so I simply went with it.

This has happened to me before as well with a nendoroid. Once I found out that's what it was, it wasn't a big deal, but I was a bit unhappy when I first saw it thinking that someone had tampered with the product. (It was purchased from AmiAmi, if that matters)
