Figma, SHF or Nendoroid DIY diorama scalingFigma, SHF or Nendoroid DIY diorama scaling

cpmsancpmsan3 years agoAsk MFC
So, I've been thinking on saving up and buying a figma, nendoroid or SHF instead of keep buying prize and SQ ones. but, since i use most of my figures for photography purposes and less on display, I would like to create my own dioramas for photography sets. My question is, does anyone knows the best scaling sizes for things like furnitures, rooms etc? Any help is appreciated.

cpmsan (3 years ago) #14537577This is very helpful. Though, do you mind telling me what the exact Target dollhouse product is named? I don't live in the USA, but i might be able to find it at places.

It's called Lori OG (our generation) Dollhouse. It's from the American Girl Minis brand. I'm pretty sure it's exclusive to Target. They do ship internationally, but I've heard that's expensive.

What I did before my house (and actually even now) is I have an older bookshelf that I turned into figma rooms. I printed out wall paper (or you can buy patterned paper) and then just added furniture to each room to make it look like separate rooms. I even taped in some lights above so it's good for display or photography.

You can also order these type of furniture and pieces from places like Ami Ami or HLJ

Then, I also built a house for my Attack on Titan figures out of a cardboard box and I also built a castle the same way.

like zoids said, figmas and nendos aren't the same scale so nendo furniture needs to be wider whereas figmas and figuarts are 1/12 so the furniture would need to be that scale.

There's some 1/12 sets on Mandarake but it's mostly public bathrooms and train stations from what I've seen, no houses nor anything ''interesting'', well, depends if you're into those of course.

Ebay has a couple of those really cheap sets, (15$ range) though you have to make them yourself, they're pertfect for nendos, as for figmas i'm not sure. just search diy doll house on ebay, there's 10 different sets or so from the same compagny :

Some rement work great with Nendoroids. Check out my owned collection on my profile and whatever sets you see I can personally guarantee work well with Nendoroids for the most part. Calico Critters/ Sylvanian Families are also great for Nendoroids . Lil Woodzeez sets are a great and cheaper alternative to Calico Critters if you live in the US.Buy Lil Woodzeez from target as they charge retail. Amazon usually hikes up the price.
I mainly collect nendoroids and pose them in dioramas so feel free to discuss them with me if you ever need help for nendoroid dioramas.

Figma and SHF are 1/12. Nendos are shorter (kinda being obvious there) and require specificity item types to work. Though given the amount of Nendo photographers that shouldn't be too hard.
