Welcome to a new Review!
Today I'll be talking about Yuzuruha, Alter's new and stunning Oboro Muramasa figure.
(This will be picture heavy and feature some butt close-ups, not really NSFW tho)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731537.jpeg

Her initial release date was October 2016. She got delayed several times and was finally(!) released a few weeks ago, on March 3rd 2017. She's a 1/8 Scale and measures about 28cm in height (including her umbrella). Here's a comparison with some other 1/8, 1/7 and 1/6 figures: View spoilerHide spoilerhttp://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731591.jpeg
Thanks to the umbrella and the mass of her hair she can easily compete with 1/7 figures.

BOX
Her box is beautifully designed. The big front window allows you to get a good look of the figure inside. It's decorated with leaves that grade in different shades and pick up the green of her kimono. If you don't care much for the box, you can skip this part :)

The front. It's a very classy and elegant looking design.

The right.

The left, both featuring some nice pictures of Yuzuruha.

The back.

The bottom side, where the holo-sticker is.

This is one of the best looking boxes I've received until now. The decor is subtle and elegant and suits the figure perfectly.

Now to the figure itself. First some all-around pictures.

And some close-ups of her face. She looks gorgeous from all kinds of angles.

Such big and beautiful eyes <3
My pictures really don't do her justice... This is a beautiful figure with an amazing grade of detail, which I will show later on!
She does not come pre-assembled. The umbrella consist of two pieces and the wheat stalks are not attached to the base.

POSE AND SCULPT
You can argue that her pose isn't much a realistic one (broken spine, twisted neck etc.), but it still looks good :D
She gives us an intriguing look over her shoulder, playing with her posture and her umbrella for a slightly sexy and mysterious look. Perfect for a fox-spirit :) And it works well from all kinds of angles.
The sculpt is amazing. Her body is slender but well defined through her cloths. Her hair is wavy and volumious. The angular style of her kimono gives the overall look an interesting touch and a nice contrast to her wavy hair.

DETAILS AND PAINT
As already mentioned, the grade of detail on this figure is amazing. Let's start at the top!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731579.jpeg

Her bangs frame her face beautifully. I love the little dot of lipstick.
The transition from her ears to her hair is clean and well executed. No glue or gabs visible.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731574.jpeg

Lovely grading of colour. It makes her hair not appear as massive.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731575.jpeg

That's where the umbrella goes. Assembled, nothing of this is visible.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731576.jpeg

This is just SO MUCH hair :D It consists of many different layers and strands. Most of the time the transition is hidden well, it's only noticable in one spot on the back. View spoilerHide spoilerhttp://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731573.jpeg

Now some close-ups of her kimono. It may seem simple without any pattern, but the sculpt makes up for it.

Her legs just go up into her cloths, but you really can't see that, I had to basically crawl under her to get this photo.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731561.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731562.jpeg
(Just noticed while writing this: Her hair turns blue at the very end of the strand. Is it intentionally?)

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731563.jpeg

The important things first! Damn, girl, this is just a glorious booty ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Haven't seen such well defined butt cheeks in a long time.
OK, serious now :D Her kimono is composed of two layers, a blue one underneath and the obvious green one. The blue is picked up by the belt/bow (what's it called..?), that has a second, white layer in between. The blue has a nice shine to it, which spices the whole thing up.
The black collar works as a nice contrast to her pale, nearly white skin tone. A clear border between skin an cloth.

The way her kimono ruffles and falls makes it look unique, interesting and adds movement to the pose. The shading is simply the icing on the cake.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731564.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731565.jpeg

Her getas are a bright, glossy red. A really nice highlight. Her socks are wrinkled, too.

Only one component missing before we move on to the base. The umbrella is crazily detailed. When you compare it with ITEM #380217 it looks so much more realistic.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731569.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731567.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731568.jpeg

The grade of detail is simply amazing.
The rod is detachable and made out of metal, big plus for stability and durability. It fits instantly into her hands, no bending necessary.

The overall paint job is consistently without flaws, there's nothing else to say.

BASE
The love for detail continues with the base.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731582.jpeg

That's what you get in the blister. There are instructions that tell you which stalk goes where. Honestly, they're a pain in the a**. It was difficult to get them into the small holes and they fall out whenever you look at them wrong. But at least the stalks are not super fragile, you can bend them quite a bit to get them to fit without breaking them. The holes: View spoilerHide spoilerhttp://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731586.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/upload/pictures/2017/03/26/1731587.jpeg

I don't think I have any other figure in my collection that has such a detailed base (maybe ITEM #269746 comes close to it). The shading of the stone wall and the surface detail of the rocks and the moss/grass is astonishing.
As you can see, Yuzuruha stands on metal pegs, another plus for stability. But due to the small size of the base, she still wobbles a bit (e.g. when you open the display case).
Assembled:

SUMMARY
Maybe it's because she is my very first Alter figure that I'm so amazed by the grade of love for detail in this figure.
They nailed the more obvious things like her hair and her kimono, but didn't slack when it came to the smaller things like her lipstick, the umbrella and the base.
Her estethics where the initial cause why I bought her and I'm more than satisfied about how she turned out.
This is just a beatiful figure from top to bottom, Alter did an excellent job (it almost makes you forget about her mega-delay).
Can't wait for Kongiku to arrive :D

I hope I could give you a good impression of Yuzuruha and her amazing details, if you have any question, feel free to ask :)

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it a bit!

Ryukosama3 years ago#19323409Yes they are small, but that's not the problem. Maybe I should have explained more ^^ The holes are too wide for their depth (I think). They should be a bit deeper. You can see the pegs of the stalks are still looking out of the holes. They don't go deeper.
I hope that explains it better :)

Thanks for explaning :) It is in fact just a small miss on a beautyfull base.

Rajke3 years ago#19323388Very nice and detailed review. Alter did a great job with her face. You described the holes for the stalks as small. Is it that the hole's are getting smaller how deeper it is like a cone? For some reason your photo's gives the opposite picture. It even looks like the holes are too big. Besides that the base is one of the better bases i've seen. A little bit too small for my taste but the details are really nice. The strong point of Alter is that there figures looks so alive. And this one is a good example of that. About the colors of the kimono. I don't know if i like the combination of this green and blue. It wil take some time to decide if i like those colors of not.

Thanks for the detailed review and quality photos. Makes me more eager to receive mine. The colors definitely have a "pop" to them.

I love how even the box compliments the color. Same goes for the other releases, momohime's pink and kongiku's orange themed boxes. About the massive hair and the small metal pegs for her base, won't she have leaning problems in the future? I hope the weight distribution is balanced.

Thank you for the informative review and all the nice pictures of her!
