I have two acrylic keychains from an amiami grab box that unfortunately got damaged somehow (I bought the box at a con so I'm not sure if they were already damaged in box or if they were damaged transporting them back home). They have spider web like cracks now, but the paint is still there. I'm afraid of taking them out of their packaging now because it looks like they'll splinter. (Picture if you're curious).

I have no experience with acrylic plates or their durability. ITEM #591794 will be my first plate. I do have a keychain but it's still wrapped in plastic xD

I saw some keychain protectors on amiami. There are different models for different types of keychains and sizes. Just type "keychain guard" or "rubber strap guard" on search bar. I haven't tried them yet, but they look useful. You can both use your keychains with them or keep them safe without worrying about dust.

WanderingWastrel (1 year ago) #22816516I have a few acrylic plates. I took a pic a while back with them PICTURE #1777218
So far I've just wiped them gently with a damp cloth, and then gently wiped them with a dry cloth. No scratches that I've noticed.
I know from having acrylic cases that they make liquid cleaners especially for acrylic but I wouldn't use those on art plates as the chemicals would probably ruin the artwork.

Thanks for sharing your picture. c: They are nice! c:

ooh..I see. I use rarely chemicals on my things because I don't want to ruin them..not want get error wrong on these. o.o;

tharglet (1 year ago) #22799901Personally I wouldn't actually use an acrylic keychain as a keychain - acrylic's a bit prone to being scratched, so to me they're decorative items more than anything else. The few I own are hung up, so they're not likely to get hit or anything.

I agree with you. I never get any cute keychains with me outside home.. xD;
Yeah, I agree it is good for decorative items. c:

Titan_Scientist (1 year ago) #22797745I love acrylic keychains!
A lot of acrylic keychains have the print on the back, with no protection of any kind, so they are vulnerable to scratches.
I usually give mine a quick spray with the matt sealant I use for my custom nendoroids. That works pretty well,and none of the ones I've sealed have been scratched.
The bit most vulnerable to snapping is the loop where the keychain or ball chain attaches to the acrylic part.
I have some fanmade ones, and they tend to have more acrylic on the back to protect them.

Ooh! That's great! xDD Oh..I wish if have pictures example about protect it without damage and it has damage..I know sometime it may little hard to see for clear scratches.. xD;
the matt sealant? you mean like www.grainger.co...? =o
