How big is too big?

In anticipation of WonderFest (the Summer edition) I have been checking out some recent releases in MFC. Is it me or are there a lot more larger scale figures being released?

My collection is mostly 1/8th and 1/7th figures. I personally like 1/7th scale as they looks good from half way across the room. 1/8th scale looks kind of small but look great when you want to make an elaborate diaorama (which I want to do) and group many figures together.

Anyways, thought I throw up this poll to see if my suspicions are correct.

To everyone in Canada. Happy 150th this weekend.

What is a good size for a scale figure?

i more enjoy bigger breast... i mean figures!! 1/6 has some awesome details (not all ofc) but it seems easier to make a good detailed figure if its bigger.

I dislike everything smaller than 1/8 besides Nendoroid and sometimes if there is nothing other even trading figs will do but basically 1/4 to 1/8 is fine.

1/1 is nice too but, there are more than one problem like.. how would you pay this madness... and how to display 100 of those?

I honestly like bigger figures more than smaller ones because they appeal more to me and are somehow more fun to display :D buuut I can also enjoy smaller figures... It really depens on how it looks but if I had to choose a side I'd say big! :3

Surprising that many people like 1/7th scale. I guess that is why there are so many being in released in this size recently. I would love a 1/7th scale of Archer to go with my ITEM #26700 so that I can complete the UBW scene. The unscaled Archer ITEM #427563 looks good but it is difficult to tell if it will match. Also, I would love a 1/7th scale of Kirito and Asuna fighting a 1/7th scale of The Gleam Eye!

In my opinion 1/8 are really good, but like you said, they are a little small at the same time too.
My personal collection is mostly built up out of Dead Or Alive figures, most of those figures don't get released in 1/8 scale, but in 1/7 and 1/6 scale, so I got used to that much too.
I think 1/6 is a really nice scale, since it's bigger than the smaller scales, but also not too big and still fits everywhere.
Just for dolls I like 1/3 scale mostly, perhaps 1/4 too, but I've grown out of the smaller 1/6 scale dolls. For figures however, I wouldn't prefer this big of a scale or even 1/2.
It would be nice having a 1/1 figure/doll, but they are insanely expensive and eat all your space. Luckily there are still things like dakimakuras and other life-sized merchandise.

Most of my figures are 1/8, with only a few being 1/7, so I'm kinda used to these scales: they're the happy medium between too small and too big. I wouldn't mind a 1/6, though.

What I consider too big is 1/4: while some of them are really detailed, they're also Xbox-huge, and wouldn't fit in a normal glass display case, so that's quite the bummer (and let's not get started on their proportional price). Kind of a shame, since there's a figure in that scale that I'd really like to own...

I feel like if 1/4 scale figures came in more varied poses they'd be more fun to collect and look more appealing, the only downside is that they'd probably be even more expensive. Anything bigger than 1/4 is too much for me, though.

I only collect scale figures in 1/8 and their heights are limited to within 30 cm.
I want to see some unity in scale when I looking at my collection thus make me to reject figures in other scales. Surely by rejecting figures by scale, I missed a lot of amazing figures. But I don't regret it.

Also I don't want any figure higher than 30cm which does not fit in my cabinets. But figure makers tend to make more and more figures higher with all the dramatic poses and weapons nowadays...
