August 2017: Do you use bookshelves for figures or books?

This month started off with getting a very nice looking bookshelf that one of my neighbors had tossed out on the curb and it's a good solid bookshelf.

At first I wanted to use it for figures but the shelves are sturdy and can hold a lot and they hold a lot of books without the shelf looking like it's going to collapse and it felt like it was a waste of space to fill up the shelves with figures so the new bookshelf became a shelf where I have books on some shelves and one or two shelves with figures or ships.

When I first got it into the room that's what filled it up and the more I looked at the shelf where the Swimsuit figures were I decided to move those figures into one of the glass display cases and it looks better with books filling up the shelves.

I'll need to find some more book ends but the Borg Cube makes a nice Bookend on the top shelf and it feels like this looks a lot better and I just need risers to get the ships that are in the back of the shelf up a bit higher to make that shelf look better.

ITEM #75578 was packed away for a while since I didn't have a proper place to display her and she fits nicely on the lower shelf, the bottom shelf was perfect for some of the heavier hardback graphic novels so I can get those easier when I want to read them.

I am tired of having figures crowding my bookshelves but since I have a lot of books in this collection it's a hard choice sometimes to decide if one bookshelf will be used for figures or if will be mixed between figures, books,or DVDs.

I have too many books, they have piled up over the years and there are a lot of DVDs in this collection so the main thing to deal with has been trying to decide on either having figures taking up shelf space or just mix it all together.

Do you use your bookshelves for books or do figures fill up your shelves?

At the moment most of all of the figures in the collection are in the two glass display shelves in the room, Houki and the Dendrobium ITEM #44543 are among the larger items that can't be put into a glass display case and the only way they can be displayed is on a long book shelf.

This large bookshelf and the small one where my game consoles are sitting are two bookshelves that were salvaged off the side of the road,so two pieces of furniture that I didn't have to pay anything for that worked out pretty well.

Do you use your bookshelves for books or do figures fill up your shelves?

Do you have a lot of various books,DVDs,Video games that fill up every shelf and end up with figures scattered across the shelves in your room?

Do you have large items that take up entire shelves?

Have you salvaged a piece of furniture off the side of the road that worked out well for you?

i have 3 rlly skinny billy bookshelves (in white bc aesthetic lmao) i ended up separating the square spaces into 9 for figures, and the top 3 spaces are for books!! the second last 2 spaces ended up being for storage (white boxes) and the 1 in the middle for washi tape storage. the last 3 spaces i left for manga.

I have several bookshelfs for books, games and other things and one for my figures, although that's already filled up by now, so I'm trying to figure out how to make space.

I use my bookshelves for books. I don't like the way figures look on shelves.

I have 6 of the Ikea Billy bookshelves and they are filled with everything: figures, books, PS3/4 games, Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs.

I have a fixed bookshelf in my room above my bed, which I use for figures, but my actual bookcase was super cheap and I'd not really trust it for scales- I have to be able to put most of my body weight onto a shelf for me to risk putting a scale on it, atm I have posables and tradings on my cheap shelves.
Also I have loads of books so they're also full. and wouldn't be able to accept a scale :/

So far it,s pretty much half and half. The middle shelves are for my figures, the bottom ones are for my books (mostly heavy artbook) and the upper ones are for my video game, CDs and DVDs that I don't use as much anymore, but that I can't get myself to sell.

Though I bought glass door on my bookself, so it look more like a display case.

I have five bookcases in my room - two small standard ones, two tall standard ones, and a half width tall one. Only the half width tall one is used for figures, but that's mainly for a box with nendoroid parts in it and a Sylvanian Families house with a couple of nendoroids set up in it - the bottom two shelves are still used for books.
