Limited blog preview..

pauldy2 months agoAsk MFC
So yeah... it's been a year since I've made a review blog entry..

I'm currently making another one. Somehow.. when I preview my entry.. I can no longer go beyond.. say a certain paragraph, line number or total number of characters

Even with my older blogs/reviews I can't preview them up to the end of the entry anymore.. :(

It certainly makes it harder because I'm practically making a blog entry, Blind..
can't check if there'd be errors, typos, broken links or so...

Am I missing something with this site's new interface?

:(

That's odd, as that is the link where your finished article will appear once it's made public. The only other thing I can think of is that if you've got HTML/BBcode in the body of the article which is parsed incorrectly, sometimes that may cause any subsequent code or text to be ignored.

Josine (2 months ago) #24403976Firstly imgur doesn't let you embed pictures on MFC. Secondly the eye button doesn't seem to be on, try scrolling down to the section you want to preview and then pressing it?
I just updated the link for the second pic.

I did click the preview button.
The preview can only be scrolled down to the 4th pic only... and that's it..
Unable to scroll down whatsoever...

victorviper (2 months ago) #24402155My biggest peeve about the new interface is that when inserting pictures, clicking the photo icon brings up *all* the photos you've uploaded, newest first, and there's no longer the option to navigate the various folders you've created.
So, good luck if you want to write an article using photos you uploaded more than a few days ago! At the very least there should be a text box if you want to skip to page 88 of photos as opposed to clicking next...next...next...next...next...next...next...

I'd use an external image hosting site instead of MFC to host my images. Would recommend jpeghost.net/ because they let you search for photos you upload by batches and have no strings attached.

victorviper (2 months ago) #24388159When editing the blog post, the URL will look like
myfigurecollection.net/blog/submit/(number)
The URL
myfigurecollection.net/blog/(number)
will allow you to preview the post in a proper browser window. That's what I always do; I don't like previewing posts in a little window-inside-a-window.
Hope that helps.

LovelyIdiot (2 months ago) #24399034Never mind the fact that the new interface isn't all that nice to look at but functionally, it's a huge downgrade from our old interface. Really not looking forward to making any long blog posts or forum posts with this new interface.

Nih ~Spiritless~
I just previewd a 6000+ line blog entry with pictures and all.. copy pasted a few hundred times.
Maybe it's related to something else?

However any space in an IMG link-name.
Like an URL ending with "amazing pic.png"
Will not show correctly in preview if set in IMG /IMG tags.

Works fine when saved tho.

I've got adblock off for MFC and I just checked with one of my older blogs, and yeah the preview function definitely took a hit. I clicked the eye button (which is what I presume to be the preview button) and it's taken 5 minutes and counting to load a preview. What victorviper suggests worked out though but you're gonna have to save your progress before you are able to see the changes.
