WTF Anime-Island?!

Hello MFC,
I need your advice about a situation that's getting ridiculous.
I pre-ordered 2 figures from Anime-Island months ago, and they have been released in their shop late august.
They contacted me early september warning they were going to ship the items separately for no extra charge, since the boxes were heavier than expected.
Since then, I have been messaging them twice a week to have some kind of information about my figures/shipment, but they haven't been getting back to me at all.
Now the store looks unavailable due to mainteinance, and I am quite afraid for my orders.
What should I do?
Thanks

I don't think that's right? I called on something ordered in march and they wouldn't help me, need to hope AI will refund me....

asayoc (1 month ago) #26846947Any news on refund?im in the same boat. had preorders since 2016 all paid in full and i dont remember what i ordered since there site is downThey didn't respond to my emails. I called my bank to file disputes for the orders and suggest you do the same.

It will help if you have the email receipts, my bank had me send them the emails as PDFs as evidence of when I was expecting to receive the items.

If you deleted them, did you maybe document what you had ordered here on MFC? Or maybe you have PayPal receipts? Those don't have info unfortunately, but they are something.

I ordered with them and got a refund, they refunded me themselves without me asking them. They didn't even send me an email saying why, but luckily there's been a lot of talk about them on here so I could kinda guess whatwas happening.

Pretty certain they're closing down so all orders are being refunded. In stock orders and preorders (mine was in stock so I would rather have had them send me the figure honestly >>)

I emailed them yesterday, gave them the order numbers that I could find in my email (which was only about half of them, since I didn't think this was something I would need to save in my email account), asked for the status of my orders, and for refunds of the orders that they wouldn't be able to fulfill.
I'm giving them a few days to respond before seeing if there is anything at all that I can do to get my money back.

I ordered the figures in January, I am definitely over PayPal protection plan.

Same here. I preordered 3 figures from them. S.h. figuarts Scouter Vegeta was supposed to ship already, but when it didn't, I knew something was up. I emailed them multiple times and got no response. Then suddenly their website became unavailable. I've opened up a dispute with PayPal for one of the figures, so let's see what happens from there. If they were just going to close up shop like that, the least they could have done was email their customers about what was going on. Just like what previous posters on MFC have said, I hope Anime Island just starts refunding on their own, or this could turn ugly...

According to google, sellers themselves can't cancel when they initiated a paypal refund. Either their bank stopped paypal's transfer, or the money captured for the refunds was frozen by chargebacks to the paypal account. It's all dry now unfortunately.

I had 4 refunds from Anime Island on Paypal that were supposed to have gone through today, but Anime Island Cancelled them this morning. They had initiated the refund on their own, but then cancelled it.
I called Payapl, and disputed those orders since they were in the 6 month window. Unfortunately I still have many orders that are past the coverage period, so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would recommend that everyone who hasn't received their refunds do the same. This is their website: www.bbb.org/con...

You also need the address for Anime Island which I found online:
941 Marcon Blvd Ste 1001
Allentown, PA 18109

I also found multipe phone numbers for them:
855-488-7253
844-264-6347
610-248-4411

Maybe if enough of us contact them, they will do something about this

piratestyle (1 month ago) #26657137I stopped ordering from them years ago because they kept getting later and later with their stock and shipment. When it was one month I was like okay that's normal for an american distributor, when it was two months I was still like okay it's a little late + shipping time but then when it got to the point where it was taking them 3-4 months before they ask for the remaining due payment if at all without being reminded I said I was done.

Same here!

You have ordered even more stuff than I did. That really sucks.
Did they end up contacting or refunding you?
I have faith and give them a few more days to refund my orders. I will email them once more today hoping to get something back..
alouzon (1 month ago) #26677382I think anyone who used PayPal should still contact PayPal even if it's outside of the protection time. If enough of you do they may still do something about it. Also contact your banks where you can with any proof of the shop no longer being available
Unfortunately I have paid using my paypal funds. I am trying to call them non stop since yesterday but the customer service always has more than 1 hour waiting time, and unfortunately I don't have that much time to spend after them.
I will try again tomorrow morning..
