Happy 2018. I wish everyone on MFC a great year of figure collecting and i look forward to the blogs, pictures and conversations that are coming this year. Have fun and keep collecting. :D

Warning: This blog is filled with a lot of pictures, text and more figure related stuff. Like always: you can find the pictures in the spoiler tag.

Hi MFC,

With 2018 starting, collecting figures and lurking around it is time to do an update about my collection.
This year flew by really fast but it has it struggles as well. This blog would be some sort of loot/diary blog and i hope it will be enjoyable to read.

Elmina Rhoderia
Ever bought a figure that you only liked by the appearance without knowing the character? Yes i did with this one. ITEM #118082 The sculpt of this figure is rather simple but it is her lovely outfit and face that makes me bought it. The seller himself has a large collection of games and gaming merchandise. I was impressed by his collection; that also contains a life size scale model of Samus Aran and the Wolf Link made by F4F.
The figure itself looks lovely and i couldn't find any remarkable flaws. I have to admit that the base looks cheap and that the green makes it look more horrible than neccasary. Except for the base: this is a great figure. Simple pose but to cute to pass by.

Arwing N64 and Edward Scissorhands
One of the best things that i bought past year is the N64 Arwing ITEM #277231 . It looks great from each angle. Also take note that this statue is too heavy to place on a glass shelf plate. With the lack of space, i have currently one wing detached because this Arwing is too big for a Detolf shelf. This statue is really impressive and that starts with the box. F4F put a lot off effort in each detail on and inside the box and that is the same with this statue. It is one really impressive piece of art, photo's can't do any justice to it. Then we got to Edward Scissorhands ITEM #381685 . I love her sad face with her messy looking hair. Kotobukiya did a very good job with her paintjob and her pose. She has the look on her face if she wants to tell you 'What am i doing here.' When you place her with another figure that has some uncommon body parts like Calne Ca you get one bizarre couple. It is impressive how the hands are looking. There is a lot of detail and small parts but not much of leftover plastic, what i would expect with a lot of this small sculpting details.

Akizuki
This figure ITEM #440592 looks too detailed for a prize figure. Also she is a bit larger than most prize figures i have seen. Her pose is one that takes your attention. I was a little bit worried about the way she is attached to the base. But time showed me that i was wrong about that. I like her outfit and pose. She is pointing at you if she is ready to let someone attack you. Her pose indicates that she doesn't attack by herself but that she uses someone to do it for her (or she is challenging someone to a pokemon battle). Akizuki was easy to assemble and one thing that i like is her hairstyle. Not only that but also the way Sega has done that without the obvious seamlines on top of her hair.View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010657.jpeg

Moka Akashiya
When i talk about the figure i would save in case of a fire or other disaster it is this one ITEM #5780 . This figure was my inspiration to start with the figure collecting hobby and it is this figure i really want to own one day. Thanks to MFC i was able to find one. Take my opinium about this figure with a lot of salt because i'm very subjectively happy about this one.
When we look at this figure you see her well sculpt lovely face with her purple like hair. I can see why silver won't work because the color would be too much the same as the details in her dress. I like the smile Moka has on this figure. It is misschievous and eery at the same time, if her smile is based on the Mona Lisa i wouldn't be surprised. This figure looks more impressive in person than on every picture i have seen of this beauty. And on top of the shelf i have the box displayed.

Miia
Next up is the figure what broke my personal 'most expensive' figure scale. We are talking about nothing less than Miia ITEM #396973 made by Di Molto Bene. She looks great and i like her design. The seamlines on her tail are sadly highly visable. besides that there is much left over plastic on her shirt. If you can see through those flaws and if you like Monster Musume i recommend this figure. It isn't just an ordinary figure and the sculpting is well done.

Atem, Marik, Black Magician Girl and Maki

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010665.jpeg

One of the bigger hauls this year that contains four figures. Yu-Gi-Oh! brings back a lot of memory's, mostly because it was populair in the early zero's. I was a fan that time and especially Marik and the Black Magician Girl (in fact she was called the Dark Magician Girl). The Black Magician Girl ITEM #338779 because of her cute looks and that cute giggle she makes when she is called from the cards in the series. Also her color combination and outfit is a really interesting piece of art. And in her Figure form it looks even better. It is a nice bonus that Kotobukiya also includes a Koribu that is hatching out of another Koribu? (I am guilty for not finishing the whole anime yet).
View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010670.jpeghttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010680.jpegMarik ITEM #119377 is another impressive figure. This character was always a little bit over the top and insane and this figure hits that mark spot on. I took the advice about the paint transfer that can be caused by the cape. So i decided to display him without the cape (with a weird fake looking chain) and his duel disk.

The same goes for Atem ITEM #450031 . He looks really good and his hair is well done. The mysteries about Egypt where always an point of interest for me and that typical Egyptian style is very well presented with Atem.

Maki is the weird bird in this loot. Her outfit is lovely and i love the details and her sculpture. For a prize figure she isn't dissapointing. Comparing her to the other three figures above wouldn't be fair. ITEM #343226 Her outfit resambles a playing card (queen of spades i guess). The spades mark is also nicely brought back in her skirt. The pink color goes very smoothly with her red hair and the red detailing on the base.

Tiger I
With the Nendoroid Petit Miho that i obtained one year before i really want it to display more properly and what can do it better than one big panzer. The Tiger I ITEM #467729 is very nice detailed but feels a little bit fragile. Water decals aren't really my thing so i was happy that GSC includes some reserve so that i can mess up without feeling guilty.

Pokemon Yellow, Don Gera and Harley Quinn
View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010687.jpeg
ITEM #95409 This was one really lucky catch. I have never seen a sealed one after the 90's when it was originally sold. This sealed Pokemon game was on the display of a Catawiki stand. When i saw this one i simply had to ask what it is worth this day. After that i decided to ask if it was for sale, well apperently no. After a few phone calls i could buy it from the Catawiki employer. Sometimes it is really worth it to ask if someone wants to sell something. No is what you have, yes is what you can receive.
Then we have Don Gera ITEM #366021 made by F4F. He looks very nice and has a lot of details. It comes with a peg to lift his arm because of it's large sword. And indeed that sword is long. Completely assembled he nearly fits in a Detolf. (F4F likes to make big figures) The painting is well done and this is a figure that takes your attention when you display it. You don't see figures of villains much these days and it keeps some variation in my collection.
View spoilerHide spoilerhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010688.jpeg
Last but not least there is Harley Quinn ITEM #326905 . She looks selfconfidense but lacks the evil vibe. Her face with the red and blue make-up matches perfectly with her outfit and hair. I'm really happy with her and she got a nice place with Edward. Those two have some simularities when it comes to art style. A little bit dark but with a wink, so they don't look too serious.

Sailor Spoon and Nana Astar Deviluke
You did read it correctly. Sailor Spoon ITEM #464668 did come to the collection. Don't get me wrong, this figure looks adorable but the attachment of the spoon to her hand was a real pain. It took forever to add the spoon to Sailor Moons hand. But with a lot (and even more than that) of patience and swearing it finally got assembled. But then when i placed it in the shelf that spoon has turned some degrees. So when i want to turn it a little bit it fells out of her hand. Starting over again i finally managed to attach the spoon again and till today it didn't move. Besides the spoon this figure looks really nice and i enjoy it. It is a little bit small but the good part is that small figures consumes lesser space.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010695.jpeg

Then we go to another figure that needed some assembling ITEM #553877 . However this one was a lot more easy with only the tail to attach. She has found a nice place on the fishtank next to Momo. Momo is there for almost two years now and i repaired the small crack she had. In the past year the quality of Momo didn't drop after picking it up twice a day. They really look great apart but the two sisters together makes it awesome.

Yoshiko Tsushima
And last ITEM #553872 . This one was ordered accidently. I preorderd ITEM #260969 and payed it at the same time. I did not now that when you add something (that has the preorder status) to your shoppingbin that this payment goes over in a new preorder. Cancelation wasn't possible because the figure was hitting the preorder deadline. Lucky that it was a cheap figure. You can clearly say that this figure comes in the collection like a real fallen angel. Jokes aside. This figure looks pretty good for a prize figure and i don't regret this purchase at all.

Well this was it for my loot in the past year. In the pictures under you can see how my collection looks today. One of my goals this year is to add a BJD to my collection and another shelf. Besides that i am planning some new figure related projects. The projects and especially the DIY Diorama where enjoyable to do.

View spoilerHide spoilerFirst there is the overview as it is now.
The figures are placed in such way that i would call damage control. My target is to place the figures that even if they fall over the chance of hitting another one is very slim. Also the heavier figures are placed lower and i tried to spread the weight equally.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010700.jpeg
The Yozora figure has started to lean so it can't stand on her base anymore. The solution was however very easy. I placed her feet behind the base.

Playing Tetris is not my thing but i can place a lot of empty boxes in a small place. And there is even space left.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010708.jpeg
This plate contains my personal favorites.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010715.jpeg
This plate is kind of weird. Mostly because the figures are somewhat out of place. With Harley Quinn that started a gang of evil creatures, Maki screaming against Illya that she looks not evil enough and then we have Edward thinking: 'What am i doing here.' Meanwhile in the background Calne Ca is just silent.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010717.jpeg
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010719.jpeg
Big difference in scale but it looks better than you would expect.
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Rajke1515010721.jpeg
After making the Diorama the figures are still on the same places. Also they are not the only ones that can ride a bike. 2 Months ago i passed the drivers exam.

Rajke (11 months ago) #30759349I see in your collection a lot of figures that also matches my taste. I see that you have the Rukia figure from Megahouse. How is the quality of that one? There isn't much info about that. Also that Dokuro figure and of course the Calne Ca are really cool.
The dumbest mistake that i made this year is that i passed on this ITEM #8234 Urahara figure. It was in good condition. But it doesn't had the box and the cane.

I was actually a little disappointed in the Rukia, she seemed more along the lines of a prize figure to me. To be fair though, I got her secondhand, and she was missing Kon when I got her. She's a good figure, no major flaws, but not the same quality as my MegaHouse Space Dandy, which is what I was expecting.

Yes, I like Ca a lot, and that figure was a grail of mine for a while before I finally bit the bullet and bought it! The Dokuro one I got lucky in a bid, I think she was listed wrong and I was the only bidder!

That's a big miss... I've had a few good finds slip through my fingers too, I'm sure you'll find him again soon. I usually set Ebay watches for 3-4 very specific searches if I'm looking for one particular piece like that, I have pretty good luck that way.

I am now at the end of the Battle city ark. (which was very amusing to watch). The Black Magician Figure is a real eye catcher, if you have the chance to buy one for a good price it is really worth that money.

Rajke (11 months ago) #30702337She looks cute indeed. Paintjob and quality are high. That Kuribo is a funny thing. I really didn't know and thought at first 'how is that (even in an anime like Yu-Gi-Oh!)even possible?' Looks like i have some movie to watch.
