Hey Amiami, what's this?Hey Amiami, what's this?

alazif03alazif037 months agoDiary
Hi everybody!

I was browsing on my Amiami account, when I saw what seems to be a brand new rubric:

Order Cancellation Request(Under Maintenance)
> Send a request to cancel an order

Does it mean that Amiami is going to accept a cancellation once in a while? I checked in their FAQ page and it's still saying that they don't.

Anyway, if they start being more flexible with that rule, I'll be glad. Am I daydreaming? Did I miss something?

Did someone hear about this?

It's been there for a couple months now, I actually posted it in the Amiami forum when I first noticed it. The general consensus was, they're probably not going to allow outright cancels constantly but once in a while is fine (it's already like this actually). Before you would have to email manually, so this is probably just for convenience.

I came to the conclusion that it is purely there for trolling reasons.

i actually like amiami's no cancellation policy, it makes me really consider whether or not i want something before I order (and in case of emergency they let you cancel, so it's not really that bad imo..)
i wonder if this new feature will just be for convenience or if it'll mean they'll accept more cancellations....

It actually was opened and worked when it first went up. I actually managed to cancel a preorder through it just before it closed!

HentaiXXX (7 months ago) #30989246You are late to the party... its been up for a while now and Amiami will take cancellation via email even before this new feature.
Yeah, it seems so! But I didn't find a blog talking about this, that's why I posted one ^-^

Onadorable (7 months ago) #30989289I remember the first day it was there, it actually worked & they let you cancel orders through it quickly & immediately. Then 24 hours later they disabled it lmao
I guess a lot of customers canceled their orders during these 24 hours. But that'd be very convenient to have the possibility to manage our accounts. They could put a limit like 3 items per month for merch and 1 figure every two-month...

Valestein3 (7 months ago) #30989669Before, AmiAmi used to even cancel pre-orders but I heard you have to order a lot of stuff from them. After shopping with them for 3 years, I had to cancel three orders. Two of them because I couldn't pay them and they let me cancel it. Third time however was a clerical error. They resolved that too.
But still, make sure you can pay them and or have the commitment to buy the figure.

I agree, 3 years ago I couldn't pay 2 figures I preordered when the deadline arrived. They canceled the orders and then sent me an e-mail to remind me their policy. I think they didn't ban me because I was a regular buyer... and I'm still. But from that moment on, I didn't order expensive figures from them, only Nendos and merch. I can split the orders in several packages to avoid the customs.

XxEmoFalconxX (7 months ago) #30989244I've always been canceling some items every month. However, I haven't got the ban hammer. Probably because I buy a lot of items from them ranging from $80 to $130. It will be pretty dope if users can cancel items through their account page without actually having to contact AmiAmi staff for cancellation support.
I think, they only ban people if they just cancel and cancel without buying anything. So, if you actually buy things there and not just prank people, then you won't get banned.

The feature of cancelling was on their web-page for a while now and it is still under maintenance. Not sure why.

That would actually be sort of funny in a twisted way. With a little HTML wizardry, they could even change the text to say "click here if you'd like to be banned" when you mouse over the link :).
