Konnichiwa MFC! ヽ(o^▽^o)ノ

I'm back once again to share my monthly loot blog with y'all! In this blog I will be showing the 2nd half of my October loot, continuing from my previous blog post where I shared my September + partial October haul. Because it's only a part of my monthly haul it won't have anything too grandeur or impressive, but I was still very excited about this loot since I had a few items I was really looking forward to receiving! (☆ω☆)

And with the same warning: Before you proceed, keep in mind that this is a picture-heavy loot blog! Some photos will be hidden under a spoiler tag for easier reading. And also, do pardon in advance that these photos have rather inconsistent lighting as they were mostly taken at different times.

To start off, I will first be showing the smaller goods like I always do. This is a very cute Kizuna Ai towel (not listed in database) that I randomly nabbed off Mandarake for only 600 yen. Initially, I only got this to bundle with a figure to make shipping worth, but it turns out that I like it a lot and I'm very happy with the purchase. She's just too adorable! ( ´ ▽ ` )

I currently have it hanging on my wall~ I haven't tried hanging towels on walls before this but I used the same method I've seen in pics by other users before: adhesive wall hooks + binder clips. Voila!

The other item (that's not a figure) from my loot is this 2019 Haikyuu wall calendar (ITEM #754368), because Haikyuu!! is life and I need to own every possible merch of it in order to survive. A very small handful of you may remember that I wrote a blog post about calendars a while back— this is the calendar that I was hesitating whether to get or not, because of it being the tear-out type of wall calendar. I'm not a fan of tear-out wall calendars but I still got this one because the illustrations were too beautiful for me as an avid Haikyuu fan that I couldn't resist, so I ended up getting it anyway.

Nekoma x New Year's Shrine Visit (Winter)

Fukurodani x Cherry Blossoms (Spring)

Shiratorizawa x After Practice (Summer)

Karasuno x Matsuri Festival (Summer)

Aoba Johsai x Halloween Karaoke Jam Session (Autumn)

Karasuno x Casual Christmas in the Clubroom (Winter)

Aren't the new illustrations heartwarming? My favorite has to be Seijoh's though, because who could resist this pure marshmallow singing his heart out with a tambourine in hand:

Now that we're done with the minor stuff, we'll move on to figures! First in the lineup is this Alice EXQ figure by Banpresto (ITEM #707272). I'm neither a fan of Alice Schuberg or SAO but I only got her because she resembles Disney's Alice and I'm currently building a small collection of her. And also because she's an affordable prize figure and that also happens to be flipping adorable.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092729.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092730.jpeg

Here she is out of her box, and I have to say this— I instantly fell in love!! (♡˙︶˙♡)

I never expected her to be so well done! I don't know if it's just me but her quality seems to be waaaay better than the other EXQ figures I own, and that's saying something. Every minuscule detail is spot on and there's not a single paint flaw on her. Basically, she looks exactly like her prototype, which I'm pretty sure has never happened to a prize figure before.

Close-up shots!Close-up shots!
A closeup of her face. The printing of her face is perfect and seems almost scale figure-quality to me!

The detailed ruffles are beautiful, something to really appreciate for a figure at this price point. ♡

The texture of her dress is wonderfully executed. Note the immaculate creases and folds on her apron as well.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092737.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092738.jpeg

If you haven't already noticed, she also comes with a basket (which is surprisingly generous of them). Just look at how wonderfully detailed this tiny prop is! Kudos to Banpresto for going through such effort to make this figure look like it's worth more than it actually is.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092739.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092740.jpeg

Finally, a shot with a couple of my other Alices. I haven't mentioned this before, but you can see just how large in scale she is compared to the other Alices!! I'd say she's closer to 1/6 scale, which is definitely bigger than the typical EXQ figure.

The next figure I got also being part of the EXQ line, is the lingerie-style bride Rem (ITEM #672626). Just like SAO, I know nothing about Re:Zero nor am I interested in it... I only got this Rem purely for how pretty she looks (lol). My rule of collecting isn't limited only to series I'm familiar with— I also love building small collections of figures with similar themes/color palettes!

For instance, this Rem will be temporarily joining my Alice collection because of the yellow/blue colorway, at least until I get hold of ITEM #775313. But from there, I might end up building a Rem+Ram collection though... lol

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092742.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092743.jpeg

Here she is out of the box and assembled onto her base. One of the pegs wouldn't fit properly into her foot though, so I had to leave her as is. (╯_╰)

She looks really silly from the back, lol.

Close-up shots!Close-up shots!
An interesting aspect of this figure is that her hair is translucent. It practically glows under sunlight!

There's a tiny dab of orange paint in the inside of her veil, as shown in this photo. It was hard to remove, so I left it untouched. (^^#)

What I liked the least is this giant seam line on her right shoulder... I've never seen anything like that before lol

Some other closeups~

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092754.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/09/2092755.jpeg

Moving on to another prize figure! This is the Hatsune Miku Doll Crystal figure by Taito (ITEM #718269)! I jumped the gun and preordered this just because she was cheap when I saw her on AmiAmi (⌒_⌒;) Now that I think about it, it was pretty bold of me to do so since she didn't even have a prototype at the time and she was apparently part of a new line by Taito... I had zero clues what to expect except the fact that she was going to have a chibi-style design. Fortunately she turned out super cute!!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093495.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093496.jpeg

Since it's a fairly newly released figure (and the first of the line), I figured I'd go the review route and point out a few more things! Firstly, she's quite well packaged— Taito went and provided a proper, sturdy blister this time around. Keyword being sturdy, as most of their other figures have ultra-crappy blisters.

She comes in 4 different parts excluding the base. To my surprise, each part was individually plastic-wrapped, which is rare to be seen on prize figures! The figure was easy to assemble as well.

Here she is assembled! And boy was I happy with how this turned out!!! She's absolutely precious, adorable and HUGE; and has a unique flair as compared to the other chibi figures I've seen. She almost reminds me of the gigantic Nendoroid Miku 2.0 (ITEM #451821) just because of her size alone (but keep in mind that she's actually nothing close to that size lmao).

Also, I absolutely love the design of this Miku! She's still sporting the classic Miku outfit, but with added cuteness. The giant pink-striped bows really give this outfit a new kawaii twist!

More pics!More pics!
A closeup of her GIANT face. Not sure why this pic has a blue tint

Her base is simple yet cute~ (´・ᴗ・ `) I've always liked that Taito goes the extra mile of adding designs to the bases.

Comparison shotsComparison shots
And now some obligatory comparison shots simply because I'm so in awe of her size. Oh and I should also mention that her head, in particular, is humongous. Here's the figure next to a regular ol' Nendoroid.

I also had to compare these two side-by-side, since someone pointed out that the Doll Crystal line bears a similarity to Banpresto's Q Posket line of chibi doll-eyed figures. The Q Posket stands very slightly taller than the Doll Crystal (but note the elevated base). Ironically, the Q Posket also resembles a doll a lot more than the Doll Crystal with those huge eyes and long, skinny limbs. The Doll Crystal still wins when comparing head sizes, though. XD

I personally think the Doll Crystal wins as Q Poskets can feel a bit cheap. I was very pleasantly surprised by Miku, so I hope Taito delivers for the rest in the line!

Next, as per usual, we'll move on to the Nendoroid part of the loot!

The first "Nendoroids" I'll be introducing are in fact the new Nendoroid Dolls! When you hear about Nendoroid Dolls, you may think about the initial outrage and resentment that the line was getting. Some said that it was absolute trash of an idea to transform the Nendoroid into cute little articulated dolls, and a majority said that it was ultimately a Cu-poche ripoff. I was neither of them— in fact I was part of the minority of being extremely excited about this line. I've been a fan of Obitsuroids for the longest time but never actually got to modding one myself, so I was ecstatic that GSC took note of that and decided to make official "Obitsuroids", aka "Nendoroid Dolls". And no, it's not a fucking Cu-poche ripoff. It's more reminiscent to Obitsu 11cm bodies than Cu-poches, anyway.

Anyway, the ones I have here are two Nendoroid Doll archetype: Boy bodies (ITEM #719688). Once again, I'll be doing this review-style since it's part of GSC's new line! 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。

The next part is rather long, so I've compiled it under a spoiler tag. Just click below to view:

Mini review!Mini review!
The main body comes packaged in single blister piece that's simply taped behind the cardboard backing, while the smaller parts are packaged in little bags and taped to the sides of the cardboard. Not the most secure packaging, but I guess it worked.

Here's everything included in both packages. I'd say GSC was rather generous with the inclusions!

And then I tested them out. The first two boys to try out the new bodies were Oikawa and Kageyama! With a bit of balancing, they were able to stand properly with just the support of the magnets on the soles of their feet (without the help of stands). I'd say they look pretty good in person and less awkward than what's shown in the stock photos.

The next thing I did was compare it with the Cu-poche body since everyone couldn't shut up about it. And as I expected, the Cu-poche was waaaaay smaller and shorter, and if you ask me it looks nothing like the Nendoroid Doll. The Cu-poche also has chunkier limbs and a more chibi-esque style overall, whereas the Nendoroid Doll is a bit more accurate to realistic anatomical proportions while maintaining a cuter appearance. The Cu-poche's hands and feet are also about 3 times larger than the Nendoroid Doll's, so there's that.

...I'm sorry that I made you wear a bra, Hinata (; ω ; )

Moving on with the review. I've picked Oikawa to be my model for the day!

First off, I tested his articulation with some basic poses. The joints were very smooth and easy to play around with; though I have to point out that the elbow and knee joints (that many people loathed) aren't ball joints, so they do pop off when you play around with poses too much but that's not a big deal to me.

Oikawa's just so glad that he's now able to pull off so many poses that he wasn't able to as a regular Nendoroid!

"Draw me like one of your French girls."

Fast forward a couple days, I got to making a couple of cute T-shirts for my KageHina Nendoroid Dolls with the help of this useful Obitsu 11cm clothes sewing book! Obitsu 11cm bodies are a teeny bit larger than Nendoroid Dolls, but the clothes fit them fine so there's no need to worry if you have trouble looking for clothes for them.

Sorry boys, I'll make each of you a pair of pants soon to warm your butts... ρ(- ω -、)

My verdictMy verdict
  • It's definitely GSC's solution to replacing Obitsuroids. There's no modding needed and the neck joint is stable (they even included two sizes!). If I'm not mistaken, there are no stands included with Obitsu 11cm bodies, so it's definitely the best bet to go with the Nendoroid Doll.
  • Speaking of stands, these ones work extremely well. The arm attaches to the base magnetically and utilizes a strong magnet, making it very stable while also aesthetically pleasing. Personally, these bases work a lot better than the ones that come with Cu-poches.
  • The only major problem I had with these was the magnets on their soles. Their feet are extremely tiny, so the magnets don't work too well at supporting their tall body. Cu-poches, on the other hand, have huge feet with larger magnets, so they're able to support the body perfectly fine without the use of the arm stand.

The next actual Nendoroid that I got is Nendoroid Asahi from Haikyuu (ITEM #627354)! I was particularly excited about receiving him because it just means there's now only one more Nendoroid to be released before my Karasuno Nendoroid collection is complete!

They went with a purple color scheme for his box which I find to be pretty odd since it's also Shiratorizawa's team color. But I guess they just ran out of colors to pick from lmao

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093518.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093519.jpeg

And here he is out of his box~! Honestly, I'd say that the only nendos nowadays that aren't completely lacking would be HQ nendos. Just look at the number of parts included as compared to the more recent nendos... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

More pics!More pics!
If you're unfamiliar with him as a character, I'd say Asahi's the very definition of a kind-hearted, harmless big softie! Just look at how adorable he is. ( ´ ∀ `)ノ~ ♡

...Oh, but he can look scary too. Only whe he tries very hard to look angry. Heck, people still get intimidated by him either way.

Lo and behold, ladies and gentlemen... this is his true character. Despite having a tough, manly appearance, he's actually a big ol' wimp. I can personally relate a lot to this look of his. #anxietysucks

Of course, I had some fun playing around with the third years and Noya as well! Now that Asahi's home, Daichi and Suga got back to their ways of harmless bullying and teasing. Noya also had to be there to laugh along console him.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093527.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093528.jpeg

The second and last Nendoroid of this loot is the one and only Nendoroid Kizuna AI (ITEM #672763)! So here's a little backstory: I actually only discovered her YouTube channel after this Nendoroid was announced— I had no idea virtual YouTubers were even a thing until someone mentioned it.

So with my curiosity piqued, I looked her up on YouTube and discovered that she also does gaming videos, which was right up my alley! The first playthrough of hers that I watched and completed was FNAF (and if you haven't watched it, please do). All in all, I adore Ai-chan's unfiltered personality and humor, so getting this Nendoroid was a no-brainer!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093537.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/11/10/2093538.jpeg

As I took out the blister, I noticed that the packaging was slightly different this time around. GSC actually provided another layer of blister underneath the main blister! Nothing was taped loosely inside the box, which really surprised me. I'm glad they've finally come to their senses after a few episodes of horrible packaging methods with their new Nendoroid boxes.

Ai-chan comes with a considerable amount of parts, which is obviously great news!

You know the drillYou know the drill
This was the first thing I had to try out! It would've been more realistic if it had the actual YouTube layout, but GSC couldn't design it like so because of obvious reasons.

From what I noticed, her default faceplate looked quite different from her prototype. I could tell that her eyes were slightly stretched upwards, her eyelids were repositioned and her forehead is slightly bigger... while I think that the prototype looks cuter, I'm still pretty fine with how she turned out. I do appreciate that her eye color was also slightly changed though, it looks more accurate now!

Ai-chan in her iconic pose~

Ai-chan isn't Ai-chan without a smug-ass look.

My personal favorite pose would be this! I've always imagined her to look like this when she's gaming.

And because she's so cute like that, I decided to display as-is her on my desk (´ ω `♡)

Last but by means no least, the final item I got is the Sonico Future☆Waitress by Banpresto (ITEM #330970) and yes, she is in fact a prize figure. But she's not just any prize figure you'd be able to pick up anywhere— she's an extremely rare Ichiban Kuji prize that went for over 10,000 yen in the aftermarket! So I suppose this would be under the "treasured prize figures" category, lol.

While I rarely ever buy things on impulse, I felt the need to do it for this one since I've been eyeing her quite a bit back then but never actually wanted her to the point that I was willing to make the effort of hunting her down on Yahoo Auctions. It was only by chance that I spotted her on Mandarake for 7,000 yen, unopened and unused. It was honestly a bit of a gamble because it seemed pretty crazy to spend 7k on a prize figure.

And sorry for the super bright pics, I hope they don't blind your eyes ;_;

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086837.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086838.jpeg

While the packaging seems like the usual Ichiban Kuji packaging, I was rather taken aback by what I found inside the box. This figure actually came with proper handling instructions! I guess that's just what you get with an ultra-rare A-prize, lol.

For prize figures, companies usually don't bother to tape the blisters or separate small gaps with plastic wrap to avoid paint transfer. But with this Sonico, everything was packaged prim and proper, as if I were unboxing a scale figure. The blisters were taped on four sides and the figure itself was wrapped in plastic.

Need I say more, this figure just screams adorable! Sonico was blessed with a pastel color scheme which suits her incredibly well. I also love how dynamic her pose is, and the little twirl of magic effect(?) really adds a sense of movement!

Also, at this point I really wonder just how many odd jobs Sonico has done in her spare time...

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086842.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086843.jpeg

She actually comes with two alternate arms, one holding a towering tray of treats and one without (shown above). Obviously I went with the one with the sweets, because that's the whole point of having this figure, lol. Honestly not sure how well her arm would be able to hold all that weight though

The bunny ears are a cute touch, although it sometimes looks like it's broken to me (I think it's probably the angle of the bend). I also love how yummy everything looks from the top, heh (✧ω✧)

Closeup shotsCloseup shots
As usual Sonico has a cute expression, even though her face looks a little plain in contrast with everything that's happening around her.

I wanted to point out just how immaculate her roller skates are! Every detail on the roller skates has been perfectly sculpted and painted. I also noticed that they actually took the time to do gradient/fadeout effects on each separate part of her skates, and also her stockings. The stars by her feet also have pearlescent paint, which I think really stands out!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086847.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086848.jpeg

Some more closeups~

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086849.jpeg https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2018/10/30/2086851.jpeg

I'm actually really glad I bit the bullet for this Sonico! There's not a single paint flaw to be found on this figure, which was honestly a surprise after the previous experiences I've had with Banpresto figures. They really outdid themselves this time and I applaud them for that!

And there you have it! You've reached the end of my loot blog, I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you once again for bearing with the hoard of pics I sent your way and reading until the very end~ I think it's pretty much given at this point but as always, I will be publishing a loot blog every month!

See you next time~ (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚

True, since you already have 3 dolls it should already be enough. For me, I’d want at least both my OTPs as separate Nendo dolls then I’ll be content! I’m not a fan of swapping heads, I actually joined a Nendoroid group split to get only KageHina’s separate heads for their dolls even though I already have 4 of their Nendos altogether xD

I don’t have many OTPs either, but AshEiji is actually one of the few pairings I really love! BF has already become one of my most prioritized series within such a short amount of time, and I’d devote anything to obtain as many merch as I can from this pairing ^^

This time I’ll probably be getting a few things at once from GSC’s site so I can bulk-order and save on shipping, so I won’t have to host another group order. Good luck on your project! There are tons of gorgeous female Nendos out there, so I don’t think it’ll be hard to end up with a perfect OC for your doll~ I’m going to Comic Fiesta as well!! Maybe we could meet up if you’d like to :D

p/s this comment is already full of my ramblings so we could continue discussing via PM if you’re interested!

victheduck2 years ago#44342242snipAh maybe that's why, Internet had been weird in Malaysia so it's annoying .-. I wish I can order more but I can't buy more of them now ;-; and plus I think 3 bodies is enough since I can switch up head parts easily. I know a lot of people ship Ash and Eiji and it's pretty clear in the Anime too i actually don't ship BxB that much but kagehina is exceptional cause they are just too fluffy together like seriously but ash x eiji is a good ship too though i just dont sink it in too deep

I hope you can find enough people to hold another group order! Most people might buy Nendoroid Dolls after the first release since many were uncertain if they should buy them. And that was exactly my thought when ordering a female body later on. My personal project was actually making a female OC for me to play with and I'm really excite to make it happen. Before ordering the bodies I wish I can finish her up and take her to Comic Fiesta but it seems like it wouldn't happen since I don't have much time now :'^) wish i can quit my work but i need money at the same time lmao

No worries! You probably clicked the “submit” button twice, so it duplicated your comment. ^^; It usually happens when your WiFi connection is unstable.

You mentioned a personal project, so are you planning to order the rerelease of the doll bodies? I was hesitant at first, but I personally had plans to also have Nendoroid Dolls of Ash and Eiji from Banana Fish! They’re my other OTP besides KageHina :’D GSC announced that they were getting Nendoroids a while back (ITEM #740133 / ITEM #740134), so I thought it’d be perfect to get another set of Nendo dolls for them! I certainly didn’t expect the bodies to be rereleased to early on though, so perhaps this is my only chance to snag them once again lmao

I also secretly kind of want an extra female body for Hatsune Miku or an original character that I can play dress-up with

posting at another comment cuz MFC had maximum characters for comment?? Or maybe I'm just glitching out idkhttps://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/CarolTheCarrot1543032214.jpegI found it from a Facebook post where their page posts figure news so I think it's legit (by the looks of it too). I've already consider getting them because you can post much more poses with these new extra hand parts

I did indeed buy them for KageHina huehuehue. I already planned out some outfits for them, just hope I can execute them well. (๑❛ᴗ❛๑) Besides from KageHina, I do plan to do somthing else for them but I'll keep it as a personal project for now.

It was unexpected for them to rerelease the body so fast, I thought the color "cream" is the middle one, and "peach" for the right one, after you mention it, I just notice it is "peach" color in the middle. So they still haven't release the same color as males nendoroid then :v I'm assuming "cream" colored skintone will be the same as the alter Saber and Jeanne Harajuku Ver.. I reason I know there will be new skintone is because of the extra hand set based from the photo above

CarolTheCarrot2 years ago#44319094I haven't got on MFC lately due to work and I just read your loot blog and as always, amazing loot! One thing about the Nendoroid Dolls though, their color doesn't match all of my male Nendoroids' skin color, and I still have mixed feelings for them ;-; but later on discovered that GSC will be releasing Cream colored skin for Nendoroid Dolls that fits most of the male nendoroids.
curse you GSC, i'm not going to buy it again i'm poor as heck
not to mention they also plan to release more hand parts for both nendoroids and dolls which comes in three color (cinnamon/peach/cream) and i don't know which one should i buy help

Heh, thanks for taking the time to read my blog even though you're busy! And yeah I know exactly what you mean! D: That was also the first thing I noticed when I tried them out. And I'm just guessing, but I'm sure you're using them for the KageHina nendos, right? Their skin tones are way darker so I totally understand the pain ;; I don't know why, but male Nendoroids in general have slightly darker skin tones compared to female ones... So yeah, GSC totally failed to nail that part.

I also saw pics of the new Nendoroid Dolls and heard about the rerelease, but I had no clue they were going to add a new skin tone! :O Based on the pics I assumed that the cream tone would be the lightest one because it looked like it was practically white... lol. Kind of pointless if you ask me. But what I never heard about is the Nendoroid Doll hand parts, so this is really good news to me!! If you don't mind could you tell me where you heard about it? Was it an official announcement?? ^^;;

All in all, I'm still really digging the Nendoroid Doll line and definitely would love to expand my collection (already PO'd Alice and Rabbit)! I'm glad that the line seems to be popular enough for GSC to rerelease them, and within such a short time~! I'm really anticipating their future releases!

Rizu2 years ago#43664211Is that book for Obitsu clothes easy to understand even if you don't know japanese?
I was always curious about it but could never find detailed reviews for it :\

I actually have the Taiwanese edition so it’s in traditional Chinese. I can read (simplified) Chinese, so it’s a tad easier for me even though I have to use Google translate from time to time ^^; or I just ask my mom haha

If you’re planning to get the Japanese edition I suggest you utilize the image/camera function of Google translate to translate the instructions! They do have step-by-step photos but it might be hard to follow if you don’t read the detailed instructions.

Im very dissapointed with the nendoroid doll packaging. They just tape it to the cardboard instead of the usual plastic compartment for each of nendoroid parts :(
