Figuarts Venus's wrist peg snappedFiguarts Venus's wrist peg snapped

Is this my punishment for writing about the figure line earlier?

Basically, I was going to change out one of Venus's hands and the goddamn wrist peg broke off inside it (and it looks like I can't dig it out easily). I wasn't using excessive force or anything. And this was right after I'd gotten Mars, too...

First instinct was to head to Tamashii customer support, but they require a pic of the receipt and I bought Venus second-hand; I don't know if they'll accept a screenshot of the invoice.

Should I try anyway? Does anyone here have any spare wrist pegs that would work with Figuarts Venus? (EDIT: Between writing this and now I had an idea wrt: a spare Figma wrist peg that I might try later; I guess it's still worth asking if Tamashii is strict about what sorts of receipts they'll accept, though...)

EDIT: So, I tried out the above idea, and while the dark-coloured replacement joint is really conspicuous, it holds Venus's hands with a tiny bit more effort, so I'm going to consider this crisis averted for now. I think the real challenge will be getting the broken-off piece out of her open hand.

Also found out about Hobby Base's "ball joint mini" while looking things up (mikku-malu wrote about 'em here: BLOG #32265 ). Might have to stock up on these in the future.

KnighTalisman (9 months ago) #47689872A figma peg might present problems due to the design of the ports in the arm and hand. Figma uses a straight-pull peg with a small ridge to (in theory) secure it to the ports, Figuarts uses a small ball joint on both ends. In theory you could modify the figma peg using a pinhead or something else.
If I still had my junker mercury I'd offer up one of hers, but sadly she got lost with a good chunk of my collection a while back.

Saw this while I was still struggling to remove Venus's wrist peg. However, now that I've gotten the replacement joint in, I think it works okay; takes a bit more effort to get her hands on, but they hold well enough for me.

And I really appreciate the offer regardless. ^^

FlyingToNowhere (9 months ago) #47689194I had to look into this too when I broke one of the wrist pegs on Sailor Uranus a while ago. I doubt customer support will be much help, and nobody seems to sell spare official wrist pegs (they really ought to look into including a spare with the figure), so as far as I could find, there are two options.

Hm...guess I'll try replacing it with Lucina's spare wrist joint, then (I know it's not white, but I only have a few newer Figmas, none of whom have white wrist joints, and I misewell give Venus something blue to match her front bow).

Don't wanna go the bootleg route for several reasons, but I'll definitely keep the magnet trick in mind in case the figure gods decide to troll me again. Thanks!

(edit: and yeah, official spare joints like what Good Smile provides would be much appreciated...)

1) Buy a bootleg and pilfer a wrist peg off of it. They're basically always incorrectly colored though. Maybe you can paint it white.

2) Try this method of fixing it. You can buy the tiny magnets on eBay very cheaply. www.youtube.com...
